Amazing factual documentary - we must all stand up for the local lobster men and women of this precious community and other coastal villages. Beautifully and professionally presented. This kind of horrific deception is happening everywhere- fishermen, farmers and on and on. Let's speak power to truth and share this with everyone we know.

Lobster work is hard work, no one is hurting the whales except the pollution that New York City and Boston put into the waters.

i'm still scratching my head wondering how some reporters from the Boston Globe or the Portland press herald know more about the ocean environment and the people that live and work in the sea at Vinalhaven..They live every day and every night. They worked at environment and have for many generations. These reporters barely know how to find a way to work in the morning. Excellent documentary.

I've met a new York times reporter at one time and was negative on everything happening around him, all he worried about was coming up with a story that would make him have a good by line.

What an incredible video to watch.... just amazing ❤❤❤
To the people in this video, you have an amazing way of life don't let anyone take it from you. Anything worth having is worth fighting for!!! That woman should be ashamed of herself for writing an article that hurts a child's feelings like that. Something should be done about this. I am so sorry this happened to you fine folks.

I bet the noise from those windmills have a bigger effect on ocean life than any fisherman could possibly produce.

Just make sure that you keep the big factory boats away, they’ll strip the sea floor and trash what they don’t want.

"He was so intelligent he won't listen to me'. THIS is the crux of what I see many Mainers have to deal with. I think if Mainers don't 'fill' Maine with their own plans, corporations will come in and fill it with their profit driven ideas. Mainers are amazing, and so independant they sometimes get nowhere. That infighting works for outsiders. Time to come together.

It's complicated. I knew a lobster buyer who said it was the most corrupt industry he had ever worked in. Bait prices, fuel prices, and lobster whosale price may be controlled by one buyer. 80,000lbs of lobster per year per fishing license translates to a lot of money. The idea that offshore windmills will negatively impact fishing has no evidence behind it, just as the negative inpact of lobstering on right whales has no evidence. Grant money has to be spent on something and there are only about 3,000 lobstermen in the state, truly the little guys in maritime business, but big for Maine's economy. Lobster fishing is like the cowboy of the open range. Tough, hard working, stubborn and generally poorly educated because you can make a man's wage at fifteen, why stay in school? Play your cards right you can retire a millionaire by twenty-five!

Commonsens just isn’t that common. Thank god for these fishermen, the British government sold our fishermen out, we had a flourishing fishing industry, not now it’s all gone, don’t let them do the same to you. We had fishing boats all around this island, we are completely surrounded by the sea but can’t fish our own fish.

How do we get Maine people together to advocate for what Mainers DO want? Could Vinalhaven be totally off the grid somehow? Could micro-grids be installed all over Maine? What IF....

Predominately news channels tell the truth, which almost anyone can check. Sometimes a "news" crew does shameful things.
Check many different sources, not just the ones you think you agree with.

Looked you up on Facebook, saw that your latest public share is a petition supporting Pew Charitable Trusts. Pew has spent billions of dollars in their anti-working class efforts, with their assets far eclipsing the liquid assets of any conglomeration of fishermen in the state of Maine. Maybe you should go cast aspersions on the suits at Pew. Despite your profile pic of you holding a lobster, you are quite obviously out of touch with lobstermen since you support the extinction-via-entanglement narrative.

@@TheMaineReset that's why we need to start taxing these foundations and universities. I'm cool with taxing churches too. No way we should be subsidizing these foundations to promote their evil anymore.
Oh, don't even get me started on the Rockefeller or Ford Foundation. It's pure evil.

Some of these fishermen are stubborn thinkers. They just don’t get what is happening to the earth. There is more to people’s life than eating fish. Not everyone thinks about other things then just fishing in the oceans products.
