    He knew she was going to cry. Such an intimate couple, he was so supportive of her.
    Stanley Tucci plays with such warmth. Who could not love a man like that? In Devil Wears Prada, he also showed a very human side in the ruthless NYC high fashion world.

      (OMG. I just realized the duo Streep/Tucci were together in both movies, playing absolutely different characters. These two are so very excellent actors.)

    Just this small scene and you see what a wonderful actress can do. Meryl Streep brings the emotion without overplaying the dialogue. What a treasure!

    Now that’s a marriage. Paul went over to her knowing she would need a hug and didn’t say anything. The ability to know what your love needs and the unspoken language they both had. It’s so beautiful.

    Streep is her usual gifted self here, but to me Tucci stands out. He threads the needle perfectly between being supportive and acknowledging the heartbreak. Beautiful.

      Agreed. He is superb in this film - an actor so comfortable in himself he can let both Meryl and Julia shine. His adoration for both the actress and character is palpable. Their chemistry is wonderful. .

    It may not have been any consolation at the time but Julia Child may not have been able to have a genetic legacy but she had a culinary and cultural legacy that is still remembered today.

      @@bathrobebattousai84 Respectfully, I think they know that. I'm pro adoption, I have both an adopted aunt and uncle, and have adopted a child of my own. But it's a deep loss to know you can't produce children biologically. Even adopting children after the fact, doesn't change the loss of feeling like you've lost your child who never was (or worse, was unable to be born). Try to be understanding of this.

    • @bathrobebattousai84
      @bathrobebattousai84 2 года назад +10

      @@sitcomchristian6886 my parents would disagree with you. According to them it hurt until they were handed me. Then they never thought about it again. Try not to lecture everyone who is just giving a valid option to become a parent. Is that really how you spend your time? Lecturing people who have good intentions all in an effort to make them feel lower and you feel better?

    Her infertility also came up in the more recent show but a lot more subtley. Almost too subtley. The show made it seem like her marriage was falling apart after she found out she was going through menopause. With her trying to keep it a secret. Don't think the show even mentions the fact they were both infertile. It's just heavily implied
    When in reality. This is the more likely scenario.
