The chemistry between all three of these actors is off the charts, I wanted this scene to just keep going.
The next scene at the party where Dorothy never meets the tall man because she's already fallen for the short man is priceless!!!
THIS SCENE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! IT ALMOST MAKES ME CRY!!❤❤❤
I know, you just want to pull up a chair and join them at the table !!
Meryl to Jane: “I want to introduce you to a man”…🤣‼️
The casting in this film is impeccable
That was perfect sister casting
Yes! I could watch a movie of just the sisters.
Absolutely love the two sisters together, and just how much fun they're having.... :D
I love how they're doing their scene but still eating with such gusto!
Yes. In a lot of eating scenes you can tell it's the 8th or 9th take, and the actor is tired of spitting chewed food into a bucket, but they're really going to town here.
The most wonderful thing about food, in my opinion, is its ability to bring people together and make them happy.
That was what made college super fun for me…
The standard experience was already great… but once I actually started doing dinner parties at my house it all became super fun
Except that people mostly eat by themselves these days. The most wonderful thing about food is that it keeps us alive AND brings joy too.
Julia cooked because she wanted to, not because she felt like she had to. I love that ❤
1:15 the way Meryl/Julia leans in to say 'YES' is so cute.
Love how they capture that unique connection that siblings share
Meryl Streep did a FANTASTIC job of portraying Julia Child! Even copied her speech pattern ex- tremely well. Stanley Tucci played her husband adorably too. 🥰
After watching this movie it makes me want to cook everything yum
My Dad passed away a couple of months ago, and I know that I'll think of him every time I watch the cooking scenes and the scenes with Julia Child. My father was an incredible cook, and my parents have quite a collection of cookbooks, including some of Julia Child's. I recently went to the Smithsonian just to see Julia Child's kitchen in the exhibit on food in America. Seeing that kitchen made me think of my Dad. Cooking and eating are some of the things that help me keep him in my heart. I miss you, Dad. ❤ And thank you, Julia Child, for changing American kitchens and food forever. Rest in peace. I wonder if Dad and Julia are having conversations about food and recipes right now. They're probably cooking up a storm in heaven.
WE LOVE BRIE
Jane Lynch is phenomenal
It’s amazing how she holds her own in this scene. Perfect
@@ukjustified1082 Actually MADE her into Dorothy, you almost don't recognize her .... they could've kept her as Jane with a dumb wig and a frock and said "Here's the tallest actress to play the part"...but they didn't, so appreciate this film still, not so much a Meryl fan anymore, for me she got tired, but this film is still in my top 10.
To me she's the main focus in this scene, she's so natural merge in it, Meryl I felt was kinda deliberately... Jane absolutely was the star here!!
My daughter and I love the jinx thing so much that we've adopted it into our lives. 😅
I don't even know if she remembers where it is from tbh. 🤔🤔😅😅
Love love love this film. All the actors were superb & perfectly cast.
😋 and more so 😋
as the conversation progressed.
😋
Jane Lynch. The only actor to have ever stolen the screen from Meryl Streep. Perfect casting.
Actually, Viola Davis also did in "Doubt"
I love this movie
The way Paul looks at at Julia is something all marriages should aspire to
Tangy… it has a tanginess.
that look she gave him, said it all
He’s tall. He’s extremely tall.
Well, I’m extremely tall. 😆
that doesn't make a marriage last but it's convenient.
to many boys can't call them men are insecure about their height or income. you never see them concerned with not being witty or clever.
boner pills sell better than joke books too. pity.
@@HisameArtworkyeah..I just think the delivery of the line is funny. Not that deep.
Meryl Streep was amazing as Julia Child even her voice was perfect
Meryl and Jane need to do a movie together. Not one where Jane has a small role that’s maybe 15 minutes of the movie tops, but a movie where there are costarring together.
I liked this movie very much.
I didn’t recognize Jane Lynch until she started speaking.
Stanley Tucci is so hot in this movie it’s ridiculous
Right?!?
Plus he’s the best husband ever.
He really is. I want to manifest this man, this character as my own husband. Intelligent, charming, supportive, fun, loving…. Siiiiggggghhhhhh
Now I want the recipe for Buerre Blanc from the chef 😅
LOL It's in the cookbook "Julia & Jacques, Cooking at Home" where she tells the story of how she and Simca and Louisette talked the owner into showing them how they made Buerre Blanc. It's as close as we'll get to learning it from the chef!
Masterclass
I’m so hungry now!
We know Meryl Streep is a chameleon but Jane Lynch was unrecognizable in this, I did a double take when I realized it was her and still had to google it to confirm!
This movie would have been so much better if it were just, “and Julia”
I’ve been saying this for years. I’d pay good money for a “Julia Cut” of the movie that’s just more of Julia and no Julie.
There used to be one on RUclips, called “Julia, not Julie” 😁
She pronounces beurre blanc incorrectly.
Meryl is good but let’s be honest. You see the technique. On the other hand Jane Lynch is invisible in her role. She’s stupendous
Meryl and Stanley were my favorite parts of this movie. I really am a huge fan of Amy Adams, but just hated her character of Julie. Would have been better to just have the movie about Julia and Paul's life in Paris.
Well fun fact: Real life Julia Child also hated Julie irl.. With passion at that. Lmao...
Why could they pronounce "beurre" but not "boeuf"? It's the same sound, is it not?
Not really. “Beurre” almost…ALMOST sounds like “bear”, while “bœuf” basically rhymes with “book.”
Did Meryl Streep ever met the real Julia Child?
No the real julia child died in 2004
@@themasksamonji8606 I knew that, I just thought they might have met before they made the movie that's why I asked. It's funny, they do look alike.
Meryl’s voice sounds ridiculous. It’s like an imitation of Julia instead of Meryl actually inhabiting the character.
Give us your best impression then and see if you can do any better, since you think you can criticize actual actors.
I actually agree with you, her voice in this movie I felt was very deliberately...
@@shinkushika - Thin skin much shinkyshiky?
@@crashburn3292 No bitches?
It absolutely isn't. It's spot-on and she still is acting in the process, not just ''imitating''. I personally believed she was Julia, not Meryl trying to be her, when I watched this.
