  • The BRICS (a group of countries comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) announced recently that it would formally accept six new members beginning in 2024. The addition of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates nearly doubles the economic size of the alliance and is clearly intended as a counterweight to a US-led world order. But, will China really benefit from this effort to reshuffle things?
