We should've used the fart sound. We messed up big time.
Thanks so much for having me join in and putting this all together Jonas!
Lol wut 😂😂

I will try this for real if I edit that means I did it xd
There's a simple trick to avoid such issues like at 9:00 :
Just click Z on your keyboard (shortcut for "Find Zero Crosssings") each time after you have selected a part of your track with the selection tool.
It automatically moves the start- and end-position of your selection to correct positions and you will never have problems with cracking or plopping sounds anymore ;-)
This video taught me more of how to use Audacity in four minutes than a one hour tutorial video.
Totally going to make 1,2,3 1,2,3 bla bla bla bla blaaa..... my new notification sound. On a serious note this was a very informative (and entertaining) tutorial on making sound. Also it showed you can make decent sounds without buying any fancy equipment. Love how you put so much effort to make sure all the effects in paid software can be found in Audacity. Huge THANKS Jonas
I'm trying my best to be useful. :D
I have to thank Ryan for his footage. He added a lot of value to this video.
Thank you for your kind words. :)
did it wake you up?
Your english is pretty DEUTSCH mein Freund
And i like it :D
Oh yeah... for sure. :D

wow, perfect timing! I just wondering how to create my sound effects to my mobile game..
Thanks, saved my life AGAIN!
Ha. So installing a virus on your PC to spy on you was a good choice after all. :P
Any idea when it comes out? Would love to try it
Have you finished it yet? If so what is it called?
Same! :D
@@darkliongames1845.
You just recreated the ender dragon roar lol.
Yes, especially in Dustforce.

Honestly, this is the PERFECT sound design tutorial. Simple, straightforward, and effective
Remember that I found this video a few years ago, finally managed to ree-find it! YES, it's soo good and compact. Love it
As someone just getting into sound design, this video was extremely helpful!!! Thanks for making it!
2:08 don’t even need to watch the rest of the video. That sound affect is all I need lol
The Programming Juvenile 100% right lol

It's nice too see your channel growing, I guess effort pays off.
Not always but in this case it seems like it. Thank you. :)
this was amazing, I've gone from "I have no idea how to do this and no interest in learning" to "Holy shit I must do this, it looks so fun!"
wow
actually i am thinking on how to create sounds and i was searching
and then you video comes up
iam creating my first game ever
wish me luck
Haha. That's an epic coincidence. Good luck! :)
What a coinkydink
This is my favorite tutorial on youtube. Thank you and good luck on your games!!
In under 17 minuts I learned how to use Audacity as it was paint & how to play with sounds in all tools ect. BEST TOTURIAL EVER! Thank you!
I think no channel has helped me with making a Game as much as yours Jonas :) keep it up
Just what I was looking for!
Perfect. :)
Now to find my dad...
The cool thing about Reaper is that you can load in virtual instruments and you can find free ones that already have some free sound effects. But basically you should be able to that with any DAW
I love how this video is lightning fast to the point
I once needed some “plopp” sounds for something. Instead of searching them online I just made them with my mouth and cropped them to fit my needs. I wish Audacity would not be so utterly broken on Arch Linux using Pulse Audio.
The juicy sound effects and particles in the game you made, is very noticeably elevating the game to a whole other level!
Interesting... Great as always Jonas ;)
Thanks for the tutorial. As a one man developer I struggle with sound and graphics creation too. Maybe the next tutorial should be 'How to make graphics for games' :). Keep up the good work mate
I struggle with game graphics a lot as well. :D
sound design is an art form of its own
3 years later and still super helpful... thanks!😁
After you get the noise profile you can just select the whole track by double clicking it and hit CTRL + R
Quicker than opening the window back up.
Creating sound effects myself is something I haven't had any experience with yet, this video taught me a lot of new things :)
I also loved how you explained all effects and concepts alongside with audacity after they were shown in Reaper
Yes please! There's not enough content on YT for sound design for video games. Thanks!
Big thanks to Ryan for taking the time to collab with me on this. Make sure to check out the Blipsounds YT channel for more helpful sound design tips: ruclips.net/channel/UC-PQKyte4ZlC-xYWZS8oOSw
Thanks for introducing blipsounds channel I didn’t know it. It’s really interesting and helpful.
The best sound design tutorial I've ever seen. Oozing with practical tips for use right away.
Thanks to this I had overcome my fear of sucking at sound design and managed to create all the sound effects my game jam game needed, on time. Thank you so much.
That was the best audacity tutorial I've ever seen
This is super informational. You’re officially one of my favorite RUclips channels
this was actually pretty incredible, awesome video, i enjoyed every second!

Thank you! This is easily the best tutorial for easy SFX for games, it's fun and informative!
Using your own music or sound effects were a way better than using sounds you searched

ha, that way to pan the sounds to the left and right is cool! thank you very much, Jonas and Ryan!
Dude, thank you sooo much, this was way too fun, wish you all the best 😄
This will be useful to me at some point. Ty.
In walking if u take pitch of the sound as a randome number and then use it with sound with every step, it can also give you some good results.
Looks... Sorry SOUNDS amazing!

Great job with this video. The description timestamps are very nice :)
I always get complaints when I don't do that so I better just comply... :D
This whole video made me laugh enough that it made my day. Also, thanks for the tutorial, I needed this
This is an awesome dirt cheap way to do it, definitely will help me out in my game
THANK YOU!
I like the idea that sound design is basically just doing things with things the way that they werent supposed to do.
That was hella funny and educational as well especially with these sounds xD
glad you made this fun lol
Add 00:00 in description for showing timecodes in video
I love playing around in foley! Thanks Jonas. If anyone heres uses Unreal, learn about sound cues. You can use them to make very unique sounds from the same files. Ie. change tempo of a song, modulate pitch to make an foot step slightly different ect.
That "split" in 3:44 I swear your voice sounds like Stitch from Lilo & Stitch sometimes 😂 I love your vids btw!
This is gamedev resource gold thx
That was fun to watch. Thanks and God bless you both! 😊🙏🏻❤
Alright, even though this entire video is way beyond my personal capabilities, i still found it very interesting.
Very cool video dude! :)
basically, now its a pretty fun game... thanks, super useful as always!
This is such a great tutorial, I’ve been overwhelmed each time I search stuff in sound design, but seeing how you don’t need to mess with too many effects and then all the rest you explained made it much more comfortable to dive in into creating sounds!!
Awesome. Just awesome video. Thanks.
Literally the first creator I have ever seen use Reaper. Amazing. I've been on the real shit. lfg
thank you jonas this was very helpful
Thanks Jonas! Always wondered how you made the sounds for Wowie jam resource pack, but now I can make some myself.
I certainly hope so. ;)
Awesome ! Thank you !

Thenx for the tips now I have i small how to make sound for my game
This is a great video.
Thank you for it.
Thank you, what I was looking for!
Absolutely beautiful video!
This is great thanks guys !!
This was great, im just getting started in game dev (just to mess around for fun), and didnt even know where to start with sound, but this was a great intro.
It’s amazing that your audio is much better than his, probably because the first thing you did when you moved in, was add sound treatment to your room....
At the beginning that's because his is recorded from the camera mic an mine from the studio mic. He sounds just fine as well with his studio mic later on. :)
Wow, you just make a content with tutorial, what a great combination!
Great video, very informative!
thanks a lot i NEEDED this for my scratch games
U do scratch!(sry that i sound probably more enthusiastic than i should be i just never thought that someone else watched videos not meant for the thing they wanted ._.)
U got one more subscriber 😊😊
You're too kind. :)
Awesomeee tutorial !!! Thanks a lot
amazing video!
You can also use a dog clicker and record all your sounds in one go. Just pop the clicker in between and it will create a noticeable spike in the wave form to mark or delimit the distinction where your sounds can be found and split them from there to multiple tracks, etc. Btw I love watching your vids, you have s great personality and helps me stay sane when I feel like I'm not going anywhere as a dev lol gives me new ways to approach my dev and design
Fantastic video!
Amazing video and great tips! I'm gonna watch more
Amazing! I feel inspired to give it a shot. :)
gonna use this when im done with my next pico 8 game
