For sure, I think if he had sung just slightly better on the chorus, which he had done in previous attempts he would have won. Its still super lovely though🥰And he is super sweet. One of my favorite songs of my country of all time. At least in my top 5! Wish it would get more recognition. It got a pretty good placing as well, was it a 3 place?
Nikki French mentioned , in a London ESC2023 pre party interview , that this song was one of her favourite Eurovision songs . I had to find it on RUclips. It’s a delightful song ❤
Thank you, bycurling for those friendly words! I know Jostein, and he is a young and very fine musicion, and he also compose this good ballad. Best wishes from Norway!

Found another masterpiece from norway! İ always saw in tops, but i didn’t know the year. Greetings from Azerbaijan! Please send us some snow in winter🤣🥺
🇧🇻 Vårt beste bidrag noen gang- Bobbysocks og Rybak inkludert! 🙂 (som ikke er veldig langt bak da) 🇺🇸 Norways best entry ever- including our 3 victories!
I remember 2023 with three really silly songs (from Turkey, Belgium and Russia) finishing at the top, while this pearl came fifth or fourth or something.
Yes 1999-2008 were the dark ages of Eurovision without any serious jurys and just stupid televote deciding the winner. It was really the "Eurovision Trash Contest" during those years. Especially in 2007 and 2008 most countries just send comedy/trash songs just to get a good televote result. It was not about the quality of the songs anymore. Luckily the EBU brought the jurys back in 2009, mainly because of that reason.
@@Schnipp08 Yes, I remember those two great jumps in quality of Eurovision. Nosedive from 1998 to 1999 and a great jump up and forward from 2008 seen as one of the worst years ever and 2009 - one of the best years.
I am still in love with this fantastic masterpiece it should have won the eurovision song contest
Yup

The melody is cute but the lyrics are tragic, that's a sixth grader's level of English there!
:)
