I heard this song on the radio in my mother's car at 2004. Then there wasn't internet anywhere near me and noone knew the name of the song, to tell me. But a small part of it was stuck in my head for all these years. I wondered many times about the name of the song. I even thought I made the melody up at some point. I finally found it, 3 minutes ago. I'm happy.
I know that feeling. All these years, I just remember 2 women from Belgium, singing the most beautiful song on Eurovision ever. I was 9 at the time. Then I randomly came across it a few months ago :)
Imagine watching the ESC at 6 years old and being amazed by this song's magic ability to take you to a totally imaginary world, without being able to explain to anyone for years to come which song it was. At some point, I thought I imagined it all in my head. And many years later, when I first used the internet, I searched and searched and searched. I cannot explain the feeling of finding it and listening to it after so much time. I am now 25, and it still takes me to the same magical world, as if I always understood what a non-existing language portraited. AMAZING entry.
Imagine how much more magical this song would be with today's staging. Even with such simple staging, it managed to captivate us all and transport us to an alternate world.. Kudos to Urban Trad.

For anyone who really likes this song and is still listening in 2021, I highly recommend you to listen to their the album this is on, Kerua. It's great music.
Well, I think that the fact that so few comments here state this is no coincidence. I do believe that Belgium had the best song of 2003 (a very strong year anyway) and the presentation was at least decent BUT Turkey had one of the most deserved winners ever. Sertab actually changed the flow of Eurovision history. And she changed it to something I really adored so I'm almost happy about my favorite song not winning. Yes Sanomi is great music for me, as this new age ethnic really touches me and I find the concept of no real language lyrics absolutely brilliant. But excellence around this field had already shined bright in the 90s. Norway 1995 & 1996, Ireland 1996, Sweden 1996 had given us much to love. 2003 was the ethnic bob dance-show spectacle's time to shine and it rightfully did so. Yet, Belgium 2003 is the strongest and fairest runner-up of the century so far.
I loved it, but didn't expect others to. Then, what do you know, it was in winning contention all the way throughout! That hardly ever happens with me. It was heartbreaking when its seemingly comfortable lead was sunk at the last second. This is very special, evocative and moving; it definitely deserved to win.
Can Dilaver sen o performansa sadece bağırmak diyorsan benim lafım yok.
I feel very sad when I see Turks in the comments who are unfair to this song. I am also a Turk and I love this song. Not everyone may like it, but they should be respectful. Belgium also voted for Turkey and there was a 2 point difference between Belgium and Türkiye. So there is no need to engage in unnecessary nationalism. Both songs were very beautiful.
I remember they really came out of left field. Nobody thought they would do this well before the show. Then that night, it was magical I will never forget ❤

HSJDNSKDJDJDNDJDND
yes
As a Turk, this should won in 2003. Our country is my winner in 1975, 1997 and 2010 lol.
Deserved the winning. Simple, unique beautiful.
beautiful! ahh those galician sounds...
Belgium, I just have something to say.
SEND URBAN TRAD AGAIN AND STOP EXPERIMENTING.
For anyone who really likes this song and is still listening in 2021, I highly recommend you to listen to their the album this is on, Kerua. It's great music.
This is the true winner that year for those who appreciate good music. Still a stunning listen.
Ağlaaaaaa
Turkey won because deserved it
Well, I think that the fact that so few comments here state this is no coincidence.

This song is so magical, like it takes you to another world
Lol listening to this in 2021 too?
@@sherwinfavored5208 Yep
Sertap Erener ♥️🇹🇷
Kadir Işık 💜
The band called Urban Trad .. lol
I'm agree with Turkey was the best. But also nobody can deserves second position as much as Belgium 🇧🇪
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I want to fall down from very tall skyscraper listening to this song (with the safe end of course). Just an unearthly magic!
A dream. It´s seems like a mystery.
I loved it, but didn't expect others to. Then, what do you know, it was in winning contention all the way throughout! That hardly ever happens with me. It was heartbreaking when its seemingly comfortable lead was sunk at the last second. This is very special, evocative and moving; it definitely deserved to win.
I do not agree sertab is gooder than urban trad in eurovision
Mustafa Yıldırır “gooder” ?xDD
Mustafa Yıldırır better olmasın kardeş o
They both were good and could have win and Turkey have won
Bu mu la sertabın rakibi
Cemil Uyanık Hee 😂
Çok iyi bir kere
Anlamiyorsan konuşma. Şarkı söylemek sadece bağırmak değildir.
😂
Can Dilaver sen o performansa sadece bağırmak diyorsan benim lafım yok.
My 2003 favorite. 12 points from Turkey!
+Doğan Güneş If we had given it 12 points, we would have lost the first place. Are you sure ?
+hukuk2004 He can do whatever he wants. :)
Very funny Belgium gave 12points to Turkey as Turkey only gave us 4points ??????

The real winner of ESC 2003 (for me)
yes it is your opinion but real winner is Sertab Erener from Turkey❤️
@@user-ug3xv7wc6b I guess everyone has the right to have his or her opinion, or not?
I agree, this was my favourite that year and still today.
100% , Belgium was more Unique then Turkey ..
For me Sertab from Turkey was better and I'm grateful and happy that she won, but Belgium had undoubtedly and iconic song
They're speaking the language of gods
...wonderfully ! my Favourite!
I always thought this song was in Flemish language. And here a surprise! This song is in an artificial language.
Love 💓 this song so much
Een van mijn favorieten uit de historie van het songfestival.
Prachtig, helaas net niet gewonnen..

@@melodia2772 точно, спасибо)))
This song is up to the standards of first place Norway (1995) and Ireland (1996). Beautiful accoustic!
I never can forget this song . They should have won really unfair
Aimar Sulevany Turkish one deserved, in my opinion btw.

Is it just me, or is the right female singer also beautiful?

I love this sound and the atmosphere being created, but I always get the unavoidable uneasy feeling I'm being conned by an April Fool.
