Sweden was my personal winner with Norway in a close second.
I'm really happy that Ireland won in 1996 (I'm Irish what do you expect) but I've always had a soft spot for the British entry in 96. My top 5 would've been
      1- Sweden 🇸🇪
      2- Norway 🇳🇴

Well, out from the result in 1997 I'm glad we didn't. Fun facts: Tor Endresen along with Elisabeth Andreassen as a duo won a voting in a News paper where lots of Norwegian artists were chosen to go to the Norwegian final. Elisabeth Andreassen was heavily pregnant with her 2nd child at the time, but said that Tor Endresen could either find someone else to sing with or compete alone. He chose to go alone.

    Day is turning to evening
    Is gone, soon forgotten
    But what we gave remains
A seed will grow and sprout
    Such is love’s way
When it strikes you and me
Only when we learn and understand
It will ripen and be ours
    Though the days pass by
    Vanishing, becoming years
    Love will always remain
    For ever and eternity
    For eternity
    The river smoothly flows
    Through meadows, plains and woods
But on its way to reach its goal
    It passes stony rapids
    Though the days pass by
    Vanishing, becoming years
    Love will always remain
    For ever and eternity
    For eternity
    Though the days pass by
    Vanishing, becoming years
    Love will always remain
    For ever and eternity
    For eternity
    Love will always remain
    For ever and eternity

This song gives me the goosebumps. I met Elisabet in Oslo while the Eurovision 2010 was being held by chance. She was really kind to me. Love her ;DDD and love this beautiful song.

    • @Furienna
      @Furienna 3 года назад +1

Unfortunately, they had to get rid of the orchestras by 1999.

    Here's an English phonetic translation
    No hugging gore mood cavern
Other put a bleach, not glass
Man, I'll through be gone in story yeah
    It throws some gruel
    All books are friends
Speak up Charlie, and dance the bad
No the matter that you make
First, nor we latter the storm
Will the matters hold me in ?
    CHORUS
Tell I'm gone, good, I'm gone
Teeth with, I'm hurt, not bleeding lone
On TV Charlie Weep has gone
He tell us if he hear
    Hiiiiii
And I'm ready still am here
Or the sch'lepers will go in
Man, I'll see line corrupt a friend
    Seek the novel
    Strip a friend
    CHORUS

Personally, I think either Norway or Sweden should have won it. They were both such good songs and much better than the rest of the competition.
