We have two retail brands, and I've given our products as gifts. I think it's common for business owners to hook some people up with a product, or even a service. However, the problem comes when it's expected that someone GETS a hookup. I was brought up watching my mother patronize the businesses of her best friends, even when they'd give her something free. The point was to show support. So, I think part of it is what you see coming up. But, it's strangers for me. I don't haggle with prices. They are there, you can decide if you want to spend or not. But, people will try you, especially if you're a new business. We've had requests to even remove labels. LOL. I always think when Nike declines to put the swoosh on my sneakers, I'll consider. The things prospective customers ask is really wild sometimes. It doesn't bother me as much anymore, but I completely relate.
