So I’m having the issue when I press the red button both my collars react and nothing when I press the black button

So once the two collars are paired, do you lose the electric shock all together and just have the vibrate?

Nope. You get both. You toggle between the two.

How do you toggle between the two collars once they’ve been paired?

Once it is paired and you have the collar in your hand facing you then your index finder will lay on one button and your middle finger on the next. These are the black and red buttons on the e collar. When you buy it already sit up as a two dog the company color coordinates the collar with the buttons. You can purchase replacement collars for the receivers and do the same thing.

How do you go from 2 dog collar back to 1 dog?

If you are operating both collars, it toggles back and forth from 1 dog to 2 dog. The top button will be one dog and bottom two dog. If you want the boost for the one dog, then just simply hold in the top button and then the bottom button. If you'd like I can produce a short since I know I am a visual person, and it will make a lot more sense seeing it.
