My VERY FIRST Drift Event!

- So we got the IS200 around 1-2 weeks ago, and we've been prepping it for this drift day ever since! We have been eagerly waiting! AND THE DAY HAS COME! My very first drift event!

So the first morning didn't go as to plan as I wanted, many spins, and just couldn't get the car going nicely.. we kept upping the pressures and once we landed 70psi in the rears.. this, plus the fact I was getting used to the track; things started to come together!
We still have a lot more learning to do! But that's what its all about!

Bought a subaru nearly 3yrs ago, parked my is200 on the father in laws drive, watching this makes me realise how much I miss it. Well done Lee lad.
Well done lee for your first drift day that was amazing. Most people need 2-3 drift days but you have nailed it on the first day
It's never just a matter of hopping in the car and start slaying tyres at first. Definitely a learning curve to go through with learning how to set up a car properly and using momentum to carry a drift. You'll be glad you started off in a low powered car, it'll make you a better driver in the long run.

Just a tip, when you’re flicking you’re not letting the wheel spin in your hands, when you’re next doing another drift day try setting little goals for the day, for example letting go of the wheel and letting the car counter steer and learn when’s the best to catch it. One reason why you’re spinning so much and fighting the car so much is purely because you’re not turning quick enough due to not letting go. It will feel unnatural at first but you’ll get it lad
Chuck 15”a or 16”s on the rear mate that will help a lot

If you can get as much weight as possible out of them it will help alot the seats and bonnet weigh a tonne, door cards, sound system, airbag and AC. A light weight flywheel will help it get to redline quicker.
Well done lad, good effort. So glad you stop palm steering and kept both hands of the wheel. Better to learn in low powered cars, my scoob is only 240bhp at the minute. Get the technique and the increase the power as you go. Well done.

Don’t hold the steering wheel when connecting drifts, let go of the wheel the and catch at the right time. Takes a bit of practise

Great video. How did you know how to drift before going? Being a beginner myself I really want to do an event like this but have only ever drifted on a sim, so I'm worried about making an arse of myself!

The is200 will have more power if you gut the cats mate and maybe a supercharger or ebay turbo kit if your splashing out lol
A couple more drift days and you will be picking it up, great first day at it tho keep going

Lee if your struggling for power try getting 16” rear wheels and put the tyre pressure up to about 40-50 it’s makes the wheels spin a lot quicker and not as sore on the clutch

Really good start bro but try make slower smoother steering inputs as the slightest movement in the steering make a lot of difference in the angle of the slide and try and stay way from using one hand palm action as u can’t really make smooth inputs

Supercharger might do the IS nicely, has the low-mid range which would help get those tyres breaking traction and is a nice budget project!

Supercharger, extra lock knuckles, 16" tyres with 70psi and it'll be a lot easier.. Still not fantastic but easier 😂
