Thank you for this lesson on Xhosa construction. Finally after so many years someone has answered this basic question. So many Xhosa friends of mine can't even explain to me how to put a simple Xhosa sentence together. Just knowing that the pronoun comes after the noun so that we are talking about mother my or as you put it in correct English as mother of mine rather than my mother and that the pronoun can be actually seen as a post noun already makes things much clearer and easier to understand. Without this I was only able to pick up a few isolated Xhosa words but never enough to understand a sentence that allows me to understand what is being said in Xhosa.
@@FREDMBASSI ‘Isi’ is a prefix meaning ‘of something’ so for example, if I wanted to say Chinese in Xhosa I would say ‘IsiChina’. So in Xhosa we add prefixes to certain words. That’s the short answer😊 hope that makes sense.

Yes!!! Ndiya elwandle nenja yam.🙌
Why do ‘Umhlobo wam’ & ‘Inja yam’ lose their first letter with ‘No’ & ‘Ne’?
Enkosi kakhulu! Andiqinisekanga…
is it xhosa or isiXhosa?

@@FREDMBASSIFor English speakers or any other language both are correct. For Xhosa speakers the word Xhosa is incomplete on its own.
