I like how Drew goes thru this big monologue before each boulder about its difficulty and after he finishes some crazy stuff hes just like, "Oh Sick I guess". What a dude.
9:16 "Sick I guess" is too relatable, getting too worked up before sending a boulder to even enjoy the send properly. Really loving this super raw capture of the projecting process, it's super cool to see the failures and full process.
That’s a huge factor for why we made this series. My mental feels light years better right now than it was last summer. It’s nice to enjoy climbing and fall in love with the process!
Learning how to not be as hard on myself, one day at a time. It’s a double edged sword, the lengths I pushed myself to for years got me as strong as I am but now it’s about learning to enjoy climbing again and not put the burden on myself as much as I have
Seriously so meaningful y'all are making something like this. Your ability to talk so cogently about the mental process/struggle. I sympathize a lot with realizing I perform so much better when I am calm, getting angry works for people but it definitely doesn't work for me. I agree really trying to focus on and realize the small wins of the day make a world of difference. Keep it up, good shit man.
8:28 Layton has you ❤️. I’m sure that contributed to the calming of your mind. Support from others brings out the best of us. I *love* watching your determination, discipline, and drive. You’ve had it your whole life and it’s really incredible to see what this level of intensity can produce after two decades of effort. ❤️
Thank you for showing what climbing really is. 90% failure. It is all about the love of the process and less about the result. I love these videos. … as I rub my shoulder after my 4th day on my project.
It’s on my list, there’s some way cooler and harder ones I’d like to finish first but believe it or not this is the first time the list seems like it’ll be completed. 9A season coming up!
Appreciate the compliment after the call out, haha. I lost some key frames in there apparently while doing a last minute fix on something else in the edit. And classically this platform doesn’t allow for replacing videos files…

It’s cool to see that no matter how strong you are we’re all pretty having the same experience, feeling weak and getting pissed

Damn... what an ending scene. This is probably what my parents felt like when they left the theater after Empire Strikes Back
It seems like mental game is the only thing holding drew back from 9A+
The hardest aspect of projecting is enjoying the process and not letting your mental get away from you, I empathize with him.

@@taikowork oh I agree 100%. Nobody’s approach is perfect either
@@Drew_Ruana just psyched to see you keep improving and pushing the potential homie! Great series!
@@otpeezy5788 thanks!
No one is harder on Drew than Drew

I said it before and il say it again, Drew and Aidan will get the next 9a FA's and possibly go on to set 9a+.

I can't even imagine the amount of miles you have on that grueling approach. Thats some next level dedication
10:22 dude pulled that brush out like he was unsheathing a blade
gettin me motivated before i go to the gym. def gotta get outside more
When homie busts through the "V16 plateau" it will be like a rocket
Ya know how you won’t be able to go to sleep if you think about going to sleep? I’m getting the same vibes from this video
In the sense that that is what Drew went through
Are you trying the hypno extension at all?

Big Arms self downgrade?
Yeah, unsure if it’s really 8C so rather just have it be stacked 8B+
🔥!

The sound mixing isn't the best (music is loud) but the video quality is pretty good

@@AltonRichardsonStudios It's all good man, it's obviously still an enjoyable watch and next one will be better :)
