I love climbing because it takes you to amazing places you never imagined, like under a bridge to do crack
I'm pretty sure Red Hot Chilli peppers wrote a song about that 😂
lmao
The concept, the misery, the cinematography 👌 So good
And Pete flying out to cheer on his mate is just the cherry on the cake 🍰
I cant wait to see Tom's next "out of retirement" climb 😮
Oh, hi Mike! I've been watching and loving your videos since the beginning, and I'm so happy to see you get into climbing.
Are there any skills you've gained along the years that have translated into your climbing?
Saw some Wideboys holds at my local gym earlier, first time crack climbing. It made me feel like a professional, crack climbing is SOOO much fun, thank you for making those holds! Please give us more :))
More on their way! Stay tuned 💪😎
my gym recently set a little crack for the first time
no wideboyz holds, just a proof of concept and nothing super exciting but i really hope there will be more
maybe i should ask them if they'd get wideboyz volumes, i do know some of the setters after all
Sending the first ascent of an 8c+ essentially free solo is actually insane. Incredible grind at the end there Tom. Wow!
Didnt expect Berlin of all places to have crack climbers hardest offwidth, but here we are. 2024 keeps on giving.
'I don't want to use the good stuff, it is just my knees.' is proper trad climber hardcore.
5mins in and this already seems like absolute madness to even attempt. massive props to you Tom!
So at 8c+, is this the new world's hardest free solo? Tom didn't actually clip in to any gear, so there wasn't any protection from a fall, just an exit strategy if the endurance runs out. And surely a 60m route cannot be classified as a boulder.
good point!!!
That thought struck me too. I guess the question is if this is high enough off the deck to classify as a free solo
Bouldering is about height, not length, isn't it?
I think it would be considered daisy soloing
@@AdrienGiboire its a good question. I wopuld have to agree. There was little death potential with this climb. more like a really bad day if you fall.
Tom, you are an absolute legend.
@5:03 "I am not THAT stupid"
- Tom Random, 2024
It's hard to believe we are lucky enough to watch some of the greatest climbers in the world, with our own eyes, doing some of the biggest achievements humanly possible here in youtube.
I mean, imagine being able to view to first ascent of Mount Everest, or seeing the first 6A being climbed in FB, but we never had video recording of those...
It's so thrilling to now have videos documenting this great human achievements, like Nalle with BoD, AO with Silence, and so on.
And then there's Tom Random and his shenanigans.
Well, as my doctor would say "The key to life is balance, if you do a little bit of drugs, you need to eat a little bit of salad."
This is my dose of RUclips crack. Love it.
"Tom Random" would be the perfect nickname or artist name for Tom!
The Wide Boyz are the coolest cats in all of climbing, and and I'll stand on Shawn Raboutou's coffee table in my old La Sportivas and say that.
2:14. It is hysterical that they just DIY gear from random stuff. Even the pole vaulters will make foot pads out of bicycle inner tubes, rather than there being some kind of foot shield available for it.
"Technically falling on your feet and just break your ankles" yeah seems absolutely fine Tom! Haha, what a send though
watching this video upsidedown is hilarious
An O6 is freakin’ nails. Guess we’ll never know. Although Tom did get rid of a lot of spider webs in there, a lot cleaner for Adam’s go. If it’s soon.
Can't wait for your OnlyJams page! Marmalade is my favourite. 😋
Don't be surprised if all they have for you is a single raspberry
Fuckin hell, that’s one gnarly route. Mega props and mad respect!
Tom Randall: "I'll never do anything like that again". Fast forward to a couple years from now and Tom does another epic thing and states "I'll never do anything like that again"
5:36 was this a compliment?....I'm not 100% sure 😅
Another banger project! I love how you don't shy away from weird and "unorthodox" routes! Always having fun and exploring possibilities! Keep on smashing! 🤟
Amazing effort....and result! 👏👏
It just needed another one of Tom's acoustic guitar numbers for a soundtrack! 😁👍
That was superb. For someone who has the fear at times you seem to have an incredible ability to rationalise it out of the way.
I'm willing to bet that this will likely be the last route these shoes will ever be climbing. /hj
Finally some solid bouldering content on this channel!
Good that it was in Berlin and not Dresden. Otherwise climbing below a bridge would have been even more scary...
That one took me a minute to get😂😂
Bridge died.

The funny thing is that Dresden could just be the venue where the next big bridge proj is…. 👀
So great to see T. Randall back on the channel!
New Wideboyz urban roof crack bonkers-ness let's goooooo
Absolutely sick! Great work Tom, such a massive effort. Someone should've grabbed that spiderweb out of his hair though 😂
As a German I can confirm this is a bridge.
It´s a crime to don´t give Tom a cold beer right after this😁. This will never happen in our lovely Adšpach to you, Tom❤. Anyway, good job!
@@vaclavkrejci5339 he got offered a beer afterwards from the locals 😎👍
I’m a non-drinker actually! I’ve been sober most of my adult life. Much that I do love a cold beer 😋
Well done , you smashed that one out the park mate.
Shirts look incredible, cant wait for mine to arrive!
Absolutely mental. Mad respect. ❤
The sheer pain tolerance these guys have is wild 😂
Troll solo bridge climb. Amazing effort, physically and mentally! Well done! 😁👍
What a mission congratulations tom. Great to see you guys together again for a send. Hope you guys got your well deserved tea.
That's one hell of an achievement! You've earned the right to sound anyway u want to! 🙏🤜
Following the pattern, we will either have to wait 10 or 3 years for Tom's return from "retirement" for another audacious project. :) Hopefully it would be much sooner!
This is looked brutal! Legendary stuff!
tom youre an absolute specimen!! go on ya! congrats!
Man, just started climbing a month ago, and this makes me want to go climb a crack so bad. Tom is a beast!
Super inspiring, Tom!
Really big congratulations
Considering dynamic climbing ropes have ~10% static stretch, there is no way you could safely climb that route with normal equipment without risking a ground fall. You’d have to install something like a via ferrata steel cable running horizontally and then run your protection along it.
...or use a static rope? There are incredibly static ropes out there, you don't need to install a steel cable. Pure dyneema is similar to steel in terms of stretch.
@@geometerfpv2804 Yeah, just get ~70m of yacht rigging rope and use your belayer as the only dynamic part, just to soften the jerk when falling. BTW, carrying along 15-20 large cams means that you _will_ fall, that is if you can even climb up to the start of the crack and get started...
This is exactly what I was hoping for when you guys went quiet for a while
Great send! Those cactus in your office need more light! They are starting to cone!
What an accomplishment! Loved it!
Absolute mad man. Love it
new mythical climber unlocked "post-retirement tommy big balls"! Great job guys, cant wait for the next video
well done! That was awesome to watch, thank you for sharing that with us.
That looked tough! Great job!
congratulations 🎉 that's insane!
Man you are a legend! What an effort. So good.
Full committment! Mind-bogglingly relentless challenge!
We need How Not 2 to do a pull test on that 6mm cord to belay loop setup!
Very impressive. Well done!
Looks awfully fun! Never stop doing crazy sh!t!.
OnlyJamz would make a great subbrand / website for an online crack school XD… Monthly exclusive video content including three finger tips in, pinkie down and fisting techniques.
Would also make for an epic limited run T-shirt!
Ooooohhh…. Sub brand. Hmmm, this is not the worst idea ever 😅
@@tomrandall8348 😁 I look forward to it! Keep up the epic work you absolute legends!
Great effort Tom!
Tom's looking shredded.
amazing performance tom!
Salute! Loving the video.
Congrats Tom awesome send!
Absolute flipping BEAST!
Tom climbed so many bridges he can surely distinguish car brands from the vibrations he feels in his legs 😂
The light under the bridge at 2:40 onwards is just awesome. Cover Shot. Did anyone take pictures? :D
Yes Peppo who helped with filming on the ascent took some photos during working sessions 👍 yeah really cool light!
"Under the bridge downtown, where I drew some blood"😂
Great achievement, Tom.
Pete ascent when???
This is BRILLANT
Many spiders that day were like wtf
Not awful, awesome!
"I am never doing anything like that ever again" - aye right enough Tom, I said the same 3/4 of the way through a hill race today
After Tom using cardboard in his shoes, we can all agree that adding paper to your gear is not aid 😅. So Simon Lorenzi using a book on his FA of Soudain Seul is fine according to the books 🎉
Would love to see some crack volumes in the gyms in Berlin! Did you try put crack on the map here during the trip?
Would love to see a training regimen video for this rig!
This paved the road for the most important question: what will the O-grade be? Jokes aside; mega effort! Well done mate
Absolute mad lads! Shoulda named the route Cardboard and Cobwebs
Absolute superhuman level stuff, just unfathomable
How do you train to something like that? Like watch a movie like a bat? Or going 15min at the time doing 3 sets a day?? How did not your body brake when prepareing to something like that? Mindboggled! 🤯 And huge respect!!
11:04 KSC Sticker am Einstieg💪
Amazing climb well done.
Tom is a mad man.
This is such dumb safety Tom… I love it 😂
Tom you beast well done son also how more British can you get just wants a cup of tea after going to crack war
Only jams. It's Pete and Tom just sticking their hands and feet in random things but we never see anything abone the knee or elbow.
For protection Im going with the fall and land on my feet and break my ankles… lol all jokes aside this is incredible.
13:12 Why there are nobody with pads under the bridge until you reach "water part"?
Pads would only be useful for maybe the first and last 5 metres of the route.
It was very impressive!
Nice. Didn't you or Pete also do a bridge in Dresden? Tte one that just collapsed? :D
How does it compare? Will there be footage of that as well?
Cheers
Nice of Tom to clean german bridges from the cob webs 😂
17:20 Is that a gate without a fence? and it's got a padlock too? That is so Germany...
This was sick!
2:13 for me it looks like using tapes for fixing is better choice than using rope and tying a knot. Rope and knot should hurt the leg in tight shoes...
Did anyone else find Tom's dangling cams suggestive at the start?
Those friends swinging back and forward underneath me would drive me crazy. Shorter rope?
damn we could see the O7 grade in your face there, that looked so tough 😅
crack addiction fully flared
Beast!
Great climb. Looked intense!
But kids, remember, it isn’t uncool to wear a helmet.
Legendary
Yo that's gnarly
I'd say O3
So a T0 is about O3-O6
Don't think it was a T0
I know the whole o grade is not super serious but i also would suspect a lower number.(About 3) sorry tom. Not because it is easy, just because one could build a very very specific training replica for those uniform width bridege problems and train for months and years bevore trying on the real thing and you could bet that adam would do that for such a challenge. If not it could take him even more than 10 i guess because you just need so much specific training and muscles so depends on the way adam would go for it😄
As I understood that was the first serious attempt
