- This is one of the many questions we get:
"Can you ski from Alta Badia to Cortina d'Ampezzo and back in one day?"
Well, the answer is simply YES and with some special planning, you are also able to enjoy a great lunch in a characteristical mountain hut at the feet of the Tofana.
If in the last season this trip would need some more detailed planning because there was the need to take an extra skibus, now that's not needed anymore thanks to the brand new "Cortina Skyline" gondola that connects the Bai de Bones (aka 5 Torri area) to the Socrepes (above Pocol - Cortina) area.
This is a long video, but below you can find the links to skip towards the chapters you would like to watch. I didn't want to cut it too much because the descents in Cortina are simply amazing and fun. Not to mention that the hard slopes there are mostly empty because Cortina tourists are usually leisure skiers that like more to stay at the huts or in the town center braving how good they are at skiing 😂😂

What a fantastic video of the most beautiful ski area in the Alps. We have been coming here in Alta Badia and Val Gardena with our kids since 2002, but we didn't realize that you can go to Cortina relatively easily from Alta Badia. We look forward to the new videos every time to get new ideas.

Hallo und vielen Dank für das tolle Video! Ich fahre seit meiner Kindheit jedes Jahr nach Colfosco, seit 1978 also nun immerhin schon 44 Jahre. Ich habe mir immer eine Liftverbindung nach Cortina gewünscht und nun ist sie Wirklichkeit! Wir haben die Tour im Februar gemacht und das Anschauen des Videos war wie ein kleiner Urlaubsrückblick.

Your kids are skiing amazing. They are very talented. I been skiing Alta Badia last March and I wasn’t prepared very well. I’m guessing you live close to the mountains because of how good you kids ski. If you ever come to visit Salt Lake City, let me know. I’ll be glad to show you all the mountains!!!❤ to all Itali!!!
I just live "below" the mountains and I've the first lift 150 meters from our house 😉. So yes, our kids learned first how to ski than to walk 😂
I've been in Park City in 2004 skiing all the resorts around there. Alta was the one I preferred most.

Thanks for the video. It inspired me to take on the challenge skiing to Cortina from Selva/Wolkenstein. Great adventure and very possible when starting early with the first lift. We made it back at 15:30.
Great, then you even had some spare time at the end. Now you know next time you how many more slopes you can enjoy up Ra Valles or how many more times you could ski the Tofana Schuss 👍👍

If in doubt flat out seems to be the general approach your boys take. I think I might have been able to keep up just about, but my legs would have been shot after that day’s skiing !
At some point of the day legs hurt to turn ... so flat out is the solution.

We took the Cortina Skyline back from Cortina at 14:00 ... but then we had also plenty of time to do some more jumps at the Ciampëi park 😉😂😂

Certo in questi giri lunghi devi calcolare il secondo, so no si rischia di trovare gli impianti chiusi🤟🤟
@@giovannisalvatoremulas2719 Basta conoscere un po' la tempistica che ci si mette ad esempio dal Falzarego a casa e poi si calcolano facilmente i tempi. Infatti abbiamo ripetuto varie piste piú volte, specialmente a Ra Valles, l'Olimpia ed ovviamente ai parchi con i salti 😂😂😂😂

For almost all my videos I use a GoPro. This is a video from last year where I used the GoPro10 ( amzn.to/3Wnl98g ) with the Max Lens Mod ( amzn.to/3VqD64L ) that does all the magic about the stabilisation.

This is a fantastic video ! I recall that the one time we skied from Lagazuoi to Alta Badia we needed to take a horsedrawn rope-pull somewhere along the way. Could you tell me where this would have been and how you managed top avoid it ?! Thanks, grazie, e ciao !
You take the horse-tow at the end of the Armentarola ski slope (=the real name) that someone call the "Hidden Valley slope". I just took it once to show it on video like here:

We always skip this one by just passing by and with some short skating moves you are much faster than waiting the horse tow to fill up and then all the stops because people can't hold the rope 😂😂 and crash all together.
Solito video eccezionale. Non sapevo della Cortina Skyline. Da quando c'è? per il ritorno, tanti anni fa avevo fatto il giro della grande guerra. Dai piedi del 5 torri avevo preso un bus per il Falzarego. gli impianti alle spalle del Nuvolao però non sembrano nuovi. Da quando e' connesso in salita 5 torri con Col Gallina? Secondo te, il prossimo weekend, Lagazuoi/Armentarola è ancora fattibile visto che questa settimana ci sono temperature torride? Grazie
La Cortina Skyline é nuova di pacca ed é stata aperta quest'anno. 5 Torri con il Col Gallina é connesso ormai da un bel po' di anni. Non saprei dirti da quanti ma sicuramente piú di 15. Gli impianti sono aperti fino al 3 di aprile. La notte le temperature scendono ancora sotto zero cosí che fino a mezzogiorno le piste tengono tutte bene. Poi quelle a nord tengono alla grande.
@@UstariaPosta si, è più di 15 anni. Poi ho deciso che non vale la pena per i troppi collegamenti in bus, anche se gratuiti, non come Armentarola Falzarago che è extra regione e quindi a pagamento. Ma con i tuoi video mi hai messo una voglia matta di sconfinare nel fine settimana dalla Val
Di Fassa per almeno rifare il Lagazuoi. Tofane sono troppo a rischio rientro. Del resto Dolomiti super ski mi ha riattivato dal 10 MArzo lo stagionale interrotto nel 2020. Ora devo sfruttarlo.😀
