Just imagine 3 Michaels moonwalking backwards towards you with flames brewing in they hands. The whole idea of this was so cool it was pretty much independent of Michael, it was just cool even if you'd somehow never heard of Michael Jackson.

I played this while visiting Toronto's Chinatown when I was very young and I remember thinking the graphics and sound were by far the best I had ever seen and heard at the time.
This game was one of the very few movie driven games to be good. For a movie about a celebrities ego, it actually excellent. Beats all other celebrity ego driven games by a mile (like Shaq Fu).
Is it weird that this video game actually succeeds in giving me a more coherent grasp on what the story of this whole thing is supposed to be, more than the movie itself actually does?
I do like that the three Michaels have different designs for their energy blasts as well as different colours. I also like the start of Round three(4:56) where two of the three Michaels have a start animation.

Yeah I had this movie on vhs as a kid as well. The movie wasn't that bad. Unfortunately the only way u could play this version is in the arcade in my days. The Sega home port wasn't nearly as good, but still pretty fun. Now someone has ported to emulators to play this version.

Having played both now I still prefer the Genesis game but the animations in this are phenomenal given the time. Also. MJ didn't do it. He was killed because he owned 30% of the industry he was in. This game was innovative for me because of the 3 player mode. I played a lot 2P games at that time like Bad Dudes and Double Dragon, 4P games like the landmark TMNT and Vendetta, but never a 3P game. A difficult game as they are supposed to be, good call by Michael.

I remember going to the store with my mother and seen this arcade game. I loved playing this game. My mom and dad could not afford no type of video game system for me so every chance i got to play this it would make my day or any game at that, but this was my most memorable one. I feel so embarrassed but i felt like i was the only kid in America that didn't even had an Atari system. My first game system that I started with was a super Nintendo Mario with Yoshi. I think my mother end up getting tired of me begging her to take me to places that had an arcade, plus I was making such good grades that I must of made her feel guilty of some sort. My dad didn't give a fuck if I had one or not. All he did was drink, smoke and argue. Never notice that I was a good kid working as hard as I could. All I use to do it's think about video games that I couldn't afford to play. I laugh at myself so hard now thinking about how I must of been the only kid in America to have a game system so late. Lol! I'm sorry for boring anyone that read this rant but I needed to share. Now I have so many game systems for my kids and nephews to play with that I dont know which one to start with. Life is crazy, it just made me appreciate things more. I relate to your story so much. I never had a video game growing up and my father didn't care, my mom couldn't afford one. I used to go to school and hang around kids who talked about their video game experiences and all the fun games they played. I LOVED listening to them. It excited my imagination even though I felt like I was missing out. An uncle of mine later bought me a Sega back in 2010 but the Playstation had been out for years and Sega was old news. I still appreciated it though and played the heck out of it. Fun times. Be good brother

My mom and dad could not afford no type of video game system for me so every chance i got to play this it would make my day or any game at that, but this was my most memorable one. I feel so embarrassed but i felt like i was the only kid in America that didn't even had an Atari system. My first game system that I started with was a super Nintendo Mario with Yoshi. I think my mother end up getting tired of me begging her to take me to places that had an arcade, plus I was making such good grades that I must of made her feel guilty of some sort. My dad didn't give a fuck if I had one or not. All he did was drink, smoke and argue. Never notice that I was a good kid working as hard as I could. All I use to do it's think about video games that I couldn't afford to play. I laugh at myself so hard now thinking about how I must of been the only kid in America to have a game system so late. Lol! I'm sorry for boring anyone that read this rant but I needed to share. Now I have so many game systems for my kids and nephews to play with that I dont know which one to start with. Life is crazy, it just made me appreciate things more. I promised myself to never put my children through that bullshit and yes I know it's not the most important thing in life but it make kids laugh and have fun, gives them something to relate to others kids. I wish anyone out there the best life ever.
I relate to your story so much. I never had a video game growing up and my father didn't care, my mom couldn't afford one. I used to go to school and hang around kids who talked about their video game experiences and all the fun games they played. I LOVED listening to them. It excited my imagination even though I felt like I was missing out. An uncle of mine later bought me a Sega back in 2010 but the Playstation had been out for years and Sega was old news. I still appreciated it though and played the heck out of it. Fun times. Be good brother

Playing those arcade games in the late 80s and early 90s look like far ahead their time !
this is game is way better play it on multiplayer
in one player is a little boring and monotone
these sound fx and visuals trigger the smells of old popcorn and soda. we had this arcade at the old movie theater in the city I grew up in!

The only thing this game is missing is a few "hee-hee's". I love how they escape in the BadWing in the ending
