What has really helped for me is not drinking liquid 3 hours before bedtime. Only small sips after that. Then last urination before bed do it sitting. Stand up for 4 seconds. Sit back down and rock back and fourth 4 times and relax. I’m always shocked I go another 1/2-1 cup or so of urine and go to bed with an empty bladder. I went from 2-3 times a night to sleeping straight through 7-8 hours!
Thanks, I'll try it but I seriously doubt I'll get another 1/2 CUP eliminated, let alone one full cup. Seems like an enormous amount left over but hey, doesn't hurt to try.
@@usaman7358 - I hope it helps you. There’s a video by Dr. Eric Leckie on how to fully empty your bladder. He shows the technique I spoke of. I’ve been on the toilet and literally say “where did this all come from”. He explains why your body holds more in there. Please let me know if it helps you. It’s been helping my over 50 year old friends.
Gentlemen, especially those over 50. If you are getting up frequently at night to urinate and feel like your bladder does not fully empty get a PSA test immediately and consult your medical practitioner. I was fully keto since Feb 2023 and lost 30kgs, BP and blood glucose all normal. August 2023 and I was urinating 3-4 times a night . Consultation with a Urologist in Oct 2023 revealed Stage 4 Prostate Cancer, metastasized to upper skeleton and one lymph node in my pelvis. Any change in flow, quantity, frequency (day and night) get to a doctor. Don't be me.
Hope you’re doing better, but I ask you this. Stop scaring people with something that can be very common in men as feeling that in the middle of the night. It’s about getting older, and most men joke about it. My uncle told me when I was younger that when you hit 40, you’ll feel like you need to go when you’re going my boy 🤣. There are a lot of symptoms for a lot of things that come out to be nothing. I go fine during the day, but sometimes in the middle of the night it would be alittle weird. Had my full testing and a specialist said you’re body is half sleep, so everything is slowing down. It could be a UTI, it could be dozens of things in men after hitting 40ish. God bless you and I’m rooting for you, but stop the fear. This channel is actually getting ridiculous. I agree with a lot of what Dr B says, but some of it is off the charts. You can eat sugar in fruit or alittle sugar. Live life happily with being afraid of it. The amount of stress people have constantly focused on good or bad food will drive some nuts. End rant
Thanks for sharing your story and advice Mark. My thoughts are with you today - I hope treatment is beginning and you are staying strong! Edit - Mark, I just realised you are a fellow Yorkshire man (although I'm white rose ;) ), Once again my thoughts are with you today. I hope your condition is improving. God Bless.
That is So True. I am surprised that LabCorp has not crowned him for making their new a la carte blood/urine tests. Dr. Berg and a few other 'Healers' on RUclips put your health back in your hands and teach quick lessons for reasonably quick improvements. Dr Berg has changed the face of telemedicine. Just saying.
The best way to address nocturia is to fix insulin resistance. To do this, stop snacking at night and work towards eliminating snacking altogether. Cut down your carb intake to less than 30 grams per day and do intermittent fasting. To speed things up, try consuming one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before meals and exercise regularly.
My husband is a huge sugar addict and he eats sweets late at night and sometimes throughout the night 😢. He knows all that you teach Dr Berg because not only have I told him but I've been the example. Avoiding sugar and carbs is something i mostly do but i still haven't completely kicked sugar. Still, doing OMAD has help me go from 240 lbs to 189 lbs. My goal is 160 lbs. Thank you Dr. Berg.
Sounds like you're doing good. I too am struggling with sugar... mostly honey. I'm not overweight but it's still doing terribly things (urinating often at night is one). A couple of things that helps me are organic monk fruit sweetener (without toxic erythritol) and fresh fruit (eaten all by itself of else it causes me indigestion). I also include a few healthy starches such as sweet potatoes and rice mainly with my evening meal because that's the most challenging time for me. Keep it up. We can do this!
I had never heard of sucanat. With a bit of research I found that it has some nutrients so it's healthier than plain sugar but it's still sugar. Still if you have to have some sweets other than fruit then this may be a decent option. Really interesting. I may try some.@@janellebird5432
I started eating leafy greens for the potassium and taking potassium supplements and I stopped using the bathroom at night. Doc bergs advice is like no other.
I remember awhile back you mentioned cutting carbs and sugar could help this situation and it is so true for me plus my health keeps getting better! Thanks!
I eat a good handful of dried unsweetened cranberries in my salad every day. That took care of it for me. I'm 60yo and on no medications whatsoever for anything anymore. Sleep apnea and nocturia are a thing of the distant past for me. P.S. I eat clean low carb, high protein, moderate good fats and lift weights 5 days a week also. Lost over 145lbs. The key is stay consistent, don't deviate. The only workouts I've ever regretted is ones I skipped and that was only a couple times in the last 1 1/2 years
@usaman7358 Yeah. All from dried unsweetened cranberries. Every bit of it. They actually make me go to the gym whether I want to or not and they make me eat the right foods and not junk. It's a freaking miracle
@@StrengthAndConditioning61 Thanks. Was in Walmart today and looked for these. All they had was sweetened or "50% less sugar" choices. I almost bought the 50% less sugar but decided against it. Think 50% less sugar type would show any benefits?
What neither a Urologist nor Oncologist could do to help me, Dr. Berg did in a few videos and changing my diet. I used to have to plan car trips around rest stops and fast food restaurants with public bathrooms along the way. What I find fascinating now is just how many people that I see in the supermarket flipping over packages to see what is actually inside their food. Dr. Berg and his common sense advice backed up by scientific research has vastly improved my health and can do the same for you too almost overnight.
I did No processred food. Green tea. Blueberries, stawberries. No bread No cheese. Meat, bacon, chicken, broccoli - No more BPH. PSA less than 3@@bekabeka71
Agreed. "Package" is most of the problem. Stuff in packages tends to be really high in SALT and/or sugar. I determined that simply buying WAY less food and keeping snacks out of the house is a good first step.
Summary: Causes of peeing a lot at night:- * Obesity. * Sleep apnea (when you stop breathing while sleeping). * Insulin resistance. Treatments:- * Stop snacking. Even better = intermittent fasting (fewer meals). * One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, with water, just before each meal. * Reduce carbohydrate intake to less than 30 grams per day. * Exercise regularly.
Not sure if the good doc got this all right 🤔 since starting my intermittent fasting schtook, no sugar and low carb diet, I'm sleeping less and taking nighttime leaks more 🥴😭😭😭😭
Im 63 and was getting up 3 to 4 times per night. Then swtiched to Keto and IF and after a week , dont get up at all and sleep soundly. Great advice as always Dr Berg.
For quick relief start with 0 sugar after 6pm, or 5 hours before sleep time, also, start supplementing Stinging Nettle, roor or whole freeze dried plant, and empty your bladder before you go horizontal. After a couple good nights sleeps, hopefully you will understand that this guy Dr Berg knows what he is talking about. So, you should then be ready to start the healthy keto plan with OMAD and intermittent fasting to get on a total body health and rejuvenation plan.
What I also like about Dr Berg is that he goes straight to the point and present his points briefly and clearly, without extra speech before or after. Keep up the great work, Dr Berg !
It worked perfectly for me too. I noticed my legs were swollen at night, but returned to normal by morning, suggesting I was peeing out excess fluid while lying down. Since starting B1, my legs stay normal and I no longer wake up to pee at night.
I thought insulin resistance was my problem too, but I IF, eat two meals a day- one of which is zero carb and the other less than 10 and I'm still getting up to pee usually once. I've been keto for more than 5 years and did a 90 day carnivore reset, and I'm still getting up to pee at least once. My multivitamin supplies 260 percent of my RDA of B1.
I watched a different video you did about this subject and reduced my carbs as suggested which was less then half of what I eating. The first night I got up once and now 3 weeks in, maybe once a night. Thank You!!! and God bless all that you put your hand to!!!
It's not just an age issue, some kids are affected by waking up at night to pee or they will wet their bed. I knew of a friends granddaughter who had that problem and she had to get up with her in the middle of the night to assist her to the bathroom. The mom was a late night junk food eater and the environment was stressful. Doctors had no answers but now I believe that a child's eating habits and eating window is also important along with that sympathetic nervous system. Maybe some type of anxiety reaction too since children are getting used to their circadian rhythm. One night, the grandma fell in the bathroom while assisting her granddaughter and she called me to take her to the emergency room. She injured her arm. So, the timing of eating and what we eat matters.
Wow, that's really sad. It's hard to even have a conversation with someone about late night eating, they get super defensive. Prayed for your friend 😊God bless you
The vast majority of kids who have wet the bed almost certainly has nothing to do with their eating habits. It's a very common occurrence among kids. The most common and documented reasons for why it happens is due to a kid in a stressful environment, some kids simply need more time to learn to control their bladder, and also due to medical reasons like the ones the doctor listed out in this video. Your story is bogus as hell because if the doctors knew a kid lived in a stressful environment, they would have obviously mentioned that as a reason for why their kid wets the bed as that's one of the MOST common reasons for why it might happen.
@@Sephiroso. I don’t know where you live, but there are different communities in the nation that have cultural issues even in modernized cities. Yes, that household had a stressful environment which I thought was obvious with that true story, which involves eating habits. Eating habits are part of the environment. I’ve seen doctors who have done and said inappropriate things and there was really nothing I could do about it because it was part of their culture to be the way they were. So, I don’t know where you live in the world, but the story was 100% true as related to me. However, you are entitled to believe whatever you want to believe. You can believe that doctors are always right and never do anything wrong, or are highly educated and there are no health problems in the world or those health problems are the fault of the people and not any other industry. You’re more than welcome to think that.
The homeopathic remedy Cina stops bedwetting. It is caused by parasites which mainstream medicine know little about. Can be confirmed with a stool sample. Sometime kids have an itchy Anusara also. Applying coconut oil to the Anus and using Cina before bed takes care of it. Used it many times, especially if kids are eating junk.
The subjects you're choosing to discuss are getting better each time. Even though I can predict the answer which is "not consuming sugar 😅", but still the variety of problems you are trying to address are countless.
Been following Dr B's keto lifestyle since Summer 2023. In my 50s. Had high BP and was taking meds. Had sleep Apnea and was on a machine at night. Had acid indigestion often. I was overweight. I used to get up at night to pee. Now, take away the above conditions and that's the life I am now leading. Thank you For Berg for showing me how to heal myself.
@@Drberg Dr berg can you please make video on primary bladder neck obstruction would be very thankful to you as this is affecting majority of people and there is no perfect treatment
Yes Dr. Eric. Sometimes I notice Nocturia. Been monitoring and Notice if I eat something sweet or carbs late I’ll get up once or twice a night. It’s annoying to go to bed at 1 and wake up at 4. Diet definitely makes a difference.
1 Cut carbs to 30mg a day. 2 Intermittant Fasting and no snacking between meals. 3Apple cider vinegar diluted with water before a meal.1 tsp. 4 Exercise
I love your channel ❤ I tried the suggestions BEFORE I saw this video, what you suggest absolutely works for me. I was getting up 4 times every night. Now I can get 8 hours uninterrupted sleep if I cut out carbs, exercise, begin my fast no later than 5pm and I wake up at 7:30 without feeling like I need to rush to the bathroom. You give great advice Dr. Berg 🤗
excellent. What is it about exercise before 5 PM that improves sleep? Also, does eating and drinking before five give the body time to process that food and liquid before bedtime
It’s amazing how many things in our lives and health are messed up by poor diet. I really appreciate all your advice and it’s paying off for me so I truly thank you for everything you’ve done
I am one of the success stories. I believed the oatmeal hype. I've been eating it for the past 20 years. Not the sugary packets, but organic, gluten-free Red Mill. Within one month of quitting oatmeal, my 20 year battle with dermatitis on my hands disappeared. Within two months I lost 20lbs. From 195 down to 175. I attribute some of that to intermittent fasting. I also cut out low-fat everything and went to full fat. I've also been more mindful of my carb intake. This change in my eating habits began about 6 months ago. Just recently I added Dr. Berg's gallbladder supplement to the mix. Just recently, for the past week, I've been getting up to urinate only once per night. This is down from my previous "normal" of 3-4 times a night. My doctor said it was normal for a man my age, 72,to get up that often. Well it looks like I have a new normal. I can't attribute this to any one thing. I think it's a combination of everything. Thank you Dr. Berg. 💪🏻
I like chromium picolinate as an extra safeguard for Insulin Resistance as well. Thanks for the insight Dr Berg. I like that innovative types like you have much more of a chance of being listened to these days.
Very informative. I had such a problem but ever since I started fasting regularly I noticed I don't wake up to pee anymore. Even if I drink a galloon of water before sleep😂😂😂. Interesting right!
I had a friend who died from Motrin. It was horrible. Her stomach was hurting, she repeatedly went to the ER and was sent home with more Motrin. Her doctor prescribed another pain med but 2 days later, she bled out...😢😢😢 Please be careful with these "approved" over the counter meds. 🙏
@@KosmicKaren Advil and Motrin contain the same active ingredient: ibuprofen. Shouldn't be a problem for most people at that low and infrequent of a dose.
I have this. What a pain!!! 2-5 times in one night! My sleep is so bad that workouts suffer, health suffers hugely. I bet my hypertension is also caused by lack of sleep. I had big babies, all natural, and some bladder prolapse. This might be some part of the cause too. Kegels, abdominal workouts are a must. Exercise is a big one. When you work out, sugar and hunger cravings drop, you sleep early, and body regulates so well. When I miss my workouts I feel hungry and crave sugar due to drop in dopamine. I do snack before bed time. I will stop. I stay up too late, feel hungry again. Thank you so much for the invaluable tips and this forum for sharing. You are such a blessing to us all. Sending you warm wishes from California.
I've been following Dr. Berg for several years and have made great strides with all of these suggestions. Definitely stopping sugar is key. But I've still had (age 69) leakage sometimes when I sneeze or strain really hard to pick up something heavy. I've just figured out recently, that when I eat a Berg salad for dinner, I'm more likely to wake up at 3am. Now I eat my salads (full of carbs and water) at noon and I can sleep until 5am before my bladder wakes me up. So my advice is NO SUGARS and NO EATING AFTER 7pm :)
I was waking up anywhere from 3-7 times in the night. I was pulling over to go pee. I am as carrying pee jugs. It was a pain in the butt big time. Had my bloodwork done and it was good. The thing that helped me was drinking distilled water with 1/4 tsp of Celtic sea salt but slowly. It helped my body absorb the minerals from the salt on a cellular level. I get up once sometimes not at all in the middle of the night. I hope this helps.
@@sharonthompson3938 Sure, the reason is because it’s the purest form of water with it being 0 ppm, meaning it has no impurities or anything in it at that. I put a 1/4 tsp of Celtic Sea Salt in 1 gal to “mineralize” it. The Celtic Sea Salt has minerals in it and a higher amount of magnesium than pink Himalayan salt does. You are right by putting a dash under your tongue and drinking water slowly. You can also put it in your water and drink it slowly… that way your body absorbs it on a cellular level which is what we’re aiming for. I never thought or expected that it would settle my frequent urination issues… it wasn’t why I did it, but it most certainly did and I’m VERY grateful for that. Well I hope that helps you out and answers your question… take great care my dear.
@@sharonthompson3938 Oh plus if you drink a lot of distilled water it does have a tendency to leach the body out of its minerals so it’s actually important to pay attention to your body and keep your mineral levels up. Also if I might add, frequent urination, sweating, vomiting, and diarrhea all will dehydrate the body while depleting the minerals. Frequent urination can be caused by many things including diuretics such as coffee, alcohol, medication, and even distilled water that hasn’t been mineralized. Distilled water is a diuretic and it will leach out the body of minerals but toxins too. It has its pluses and minuses but all in all is the best option imo. If it’s non corrosive, used in car batteries and cooling systems, then it’s good enough for my system. 🤙😊
My gawd, you just totally hit on every single symptom I've had over the last year or so (I'm just about to turn 57 and find I'm getting up to urinate about 3-4 per night and most times, with little urine to show for it). I definitely need to lose weight and cut down on the carbs and crap. Not diabetic...yet, but have been warned in the past that it may become an issue. New Year, new habits. We've been doing your kefir for about year now (but I've been slacking off over the last few months I must admit). Time to get back on it. Usually do water kefir at night (mixed with a bit of apple cider vinegar) and the milk version in the morning. When I do...do it, it truly works. Just proof to us what you say works. Will try these new tips. Thank you!
When I get insomnia, I pee every 5 minutes. Full bladder pee. It's not like I'm awake because I have to pee, it's like I have to pee because I can't sleep. If I fall asleep I sleep all night no problem. If I can't sleep I'll pee every 5 minutes. And it's clear as water.
I am thin 64yo and have sleep apnea - Since adding more sea salt into my diet I no longer get up to pee. I used to 3 or 4 times a night. Electrolyte balance has a lot to do with it also.
Fascinating and such a thorough description of the problem. I have high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes T2, and sleep apnea - use a CPAP -- and I was getting up several times a night to pee. I have been using mouth tape for about two weeks and now sleep through the night and wake up more refreshed. I am also taking supplements for my nervous system and reducing sugar of course. Love Dr Berg's videos - share them often and definitely sending this one out asap.
I was on the wrong side of the border of diabetes and early prostate cancer until I ment Dr. Berg online and followed his recipe to fight sugar in my diet. After only 3 months of following his diet advice, I had a PSA of 3 and blood sugar of 5. It is rare for me to take any advil or antihistamines. I am amazed every day.
This video couldnt be more on time. My problem had gotten so bad that I would literally feel like I have to pee and that would cause to me not to fall in deep sleep. It all started from last year when id just keep on thinking and to stop myself from thinking Id go to the bathroom. That habit has caused me to not sleep at all cz my brain's like "no not yet you might have to pee". Minimizimg anxiety is the key cz once i Fall in deep sleep earlier i sleep well.
I've had this problem since I was in my 20s. Smoking pot and eating too much and drinking too much soda. I've woke up 10 times a night for over 20 years. My wife is a carb and sugar eater. We both have high metabolisms I guess. We can ear 4,000 calories a day and still be slim. But I'm sure our livers are fatty. Love your content. I'd love to eat paleo/keto but it's not happening with my wife. Any advice to eat keto if you live with someone who doesnt have an interest in healthy eating. She NEVER has to wake up to me. But if she coughs or sneezes... You know how having kids affects women... 😂 Old age. It gets us all! ❤ Dr. Berg! My favorite medical channel! Plus I'm getting CRUSHING pain in the middle of my right foot. Even if I just drink karma water. But when they test my blood it doesn't say I'm diabetic. Wow. I also have sleep apnea. I wish I could afford to see you!
This is so true. When i did my last cut, i lost about 20kgs and i was doing IF as well as daily excersies + low carb. I got this issue wayyyy less back then. I still had it tho, but it was like 50 percent less than it is now while im bulking. So now i again started with my cut, and therefore i assume that this will, again, be of great help in aiding this problem. So yes, insuline resistance is a real thing and problem to many things happening to your body. So you have to control it, as DR Berg said. Avoid Carbs, Sugar, Start IF, Start doing some sort of excersise, move a bit more (start walking daily) and focus on eating 2x per day rather then every 2-3 hour, our body isn't made that way, and we are not supposed to be eating every 2-3 hours and snacking. IF is natural way of dieting, and therefore we must utilise it once again so we can be more healthy. Stay safe!
Thanks Dr Berg for all the great information. I’m 68 year old male . I went on low carb diet along with intermittent fasting about three years ago lost 40 lbs . No late snacking . Still would get up to urinate 5 times a night . Had many tests like ultrasound checking bladder function, PSA tests, Was put on Flomax drug . Found out a had sleep apnea ! No more drugs . It might be different for some people, but i believe anterior pelvic tilt plays a significant role in this problem, once it messes with the pelvic floor the bladder cant hold pee as easily in the middle of the night which then causes you to wake up. So fix anterior pelvic tilt>>which flxes a tight pelvic floor>> bladder no longer wakes you up>>everything goes back to normal
its not a disease. It is just muscle imbalances that causes your pelvis to be constantly rotated forward. Common culprits are tight weak hip flexors, weak hamstrings and glutes, tight quads and even lats. It varies from person to person . I recommend the RUclips channel Upright health on that matter he's who I'm watching for that@@SweetChicagoGator

I’ve been doing this for 24years - since I was pregnant with my now 23 year old daughter . WOW nearly a quarter of a century. The only time it stopped was when I was doing Keto . Unfortunately I couldn’t continue on keto bc of my histamine intolerance 😩
Thank you for providing such valuable insights on nocturia! This information is a game-changer for those struggling with sleepless nights. Looking forward to more helpful tips!
I started to eat twice a day, and stopped snacking. And I drink apple cider vinegar with cinnamon and lemon juice every morning, now I don’t have to get up that much at night to use the bathroom. And my sugar levels have dropped significantly.
Further to my initial comment I would like to thank all of you for your prayers and sympathy. It means a lot to me. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and peace and prosperity for 2024. Once again, thank you one and all.
I noticed a huge change from getting up on the hour every hour throughout the night when I cut all sugars and lower my carbs also cut out dairy products too... Thanx Dr. Berg for the life changing info!!!
This is really the way to get rid of nocturia really fast. I had to go like 2h, I was so annonyed and just sleepy the whole day. I have almost 60 pounds of and can sleep for 6-7 h again!
I totally believe this. I hope what I am about to say is not TMI. I am obese, have hypertension and apnea. I use a CPAP machine for all times I sleep, even on vacation. I am on medication and my BP is controlled. I often get up in the night to go to the washroom. Then, I was told about your videos and I began intermittent fasting. At first, my wife and I only changed our patterns, not what we were eating. We used a 16:8 ratio as a target but most days we did closer to 19:5. In only three weeks I lost about 12 pounds and after the first week I started getting up a lot less during the night. Last week we went on vacation and decided to eat a three meals a day routine with breakfast, lunch and supper since we were going to be socializing and walking a lot. I admit I haven't stepped on the scale since we returned yesterday but i am sure i gained at least some weight back but more importantly, while on vacation, I found that i had to get up several times a night to go to the washroom. It was interesting and I didn't know why this was happening. We are back on the intermittent fasting and I will see what happens in a couple nights.
You Nailed it on this one......Absolutely right....Im 67...I get up to Pee 3-4 times anight...I Drink to much Beer and Wine...I eat the wrong stuff... I do snack before bedtime...(but not often).....I dont excerise enough. Before Christmas I started a Sugar FREE diet....and Wow....what a difference that made.....Sadly I have let it slip.....So Starting again as we speak....BUT...If you want to Help yourself from peeing to much.....lose weight (just eat normally at first...just cut down on the quantity..Then reduce the Sugar...Bread cut it out....Fast ( HAVE a drink for breakfast and one main meal)....at leat once a week....! ) ! And Get Out there..! Walk for 1 hr day..(Treard.Mill is fine ) bike 1 hr...Row ...Anything...and if you can't do an hour start off small...10-15 mins....then 20-30 ...30-40..etc etc.....You will see a difference
I got up every night to pee maybe more then once. BUT i drink a large glass of water about a hour before i go to bed . Fortunately i have zero issue falling back to sleep. And always wake up refreshed.
I can attest to one of those causes absolutely, and a second cause that would be consistent with a second thing you've mentioned. 1) I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 4 years ago. Leading up to that I was waking up like 4 to 6 times a night, going to the bathroom, mouth dry from being open and actually not peeing that much. Every night. My doctor finally suggested I get a sleep test. I did, I had APNEA, I got a CPAP, and holy crap. I mean straight up reversal of my sleeping condition I went from 4 to 6 times a night, to 0 to maybe an occasional 2. Volume of pee increased. My mouth was staying closed and not bone dry (which is actually almost painful) from being wide open trying to suck air. The doctor explained how APNEA events interfering with sleep also interferes with the nighttime rhythms of organs and urine production. 2) I'm still morbidly obese. 110lbs overweight. I'm getting there, then falling off the wagon losing ground again. I need to fix that. So, my volume of pee varies. I'm on diuretics, so that helps, but I don't take those every single day seven days a week. That worries me so I go off them for a few days. Bottom line: my weak stream or low volume output during the day varies. My guess is that the CPAP is helping me at night, but my weight is still messing with that overall. Thanks very much for the video.
I am a woman and I have had this problem since I was a child. I do not have sleep apnea. Do not snack at night. I eat healthy, but I have notice when I drink alcohol it is worse. It is quite annoying waking up in the middle of the night.
I'm 54. I have sleep apnea. You are correct on that one. I now have a CPAP machine so I took care of that. I've cut carbs for a while now. Gonna start cutting sugar. Started taking Saw Palmetto just in case. Only wake up one time a night now and its a full bladder.@@Drberg

I watched this video and tried this solution yesterday night. Today i return here to update result. Thanks doctor, it works. Slept like baby for 6 hrs. First time complete sleep in 9 years.
Every time I completely cut out carbohydrates from my diet, I start having to run to the bathroom at night. What's the reason for this, Dr. Berg? Please give me a hint.
It makes sense, however, sometimes, even fasting, no overweight, no diabetes, low refined carbs intake, nocturia persists, and as I take HBP meds, I think that’s the issue.
I rather narrow nasal passages. Typically I get up 2 or 3 times per night. After watching this I bought and applied nose strips before going to bed. Now I have nights I dont get up at all, but most nights are just once.
Love Dr. Berg, but I find watching his vids at 1.5X helpful because of how slowly he talks, lots of pauses... which is fine, its his style, but I often am looking for the bottom line and 1.5X helps.

After 15 years of failed medicines and herbs, finally am waking only once a night and sometimes, I can even sleep through the night! I used to wake four times! All thanks to Eric Berg who taught me about insulin resistance. Gonna start praying for him, this man changed my life for the better.
i eat at 3-4pm and sleep a 930 10pm. no water after my last meal and a cup after 1 or 2pm and i drink my liquid mornings. thats literally the only way and i still pee 1x when sleeping. the only way to not pee at all when sleeping is in hot weather (use the fan not AC) and eat bread or food that has very little water like meat
I had a bad spate of peeing in the night. Fortunately managed to resolve it now but it took a couple of weeks! My girlfriend still needs to pee in the night, will pass your advice on, thanks Doc 😊
Thank-you Dr. Berg for this helpful information. A blessed New Year ahead for you and your family!! Remember Jesus loves you more than anyone, and wants to make us whole, without him we can do nothing!! Prayer is our most powerful weapon. Jesus is the ultimate healer!! I know because I am 73 now, and i have been healed many times with prayer and trusting God, and he leads me to information like yours to help!! Above all God is the ultimate healer!! Believe, miracles still happen!! Blessings to all!! ❤🙏
Dr.Berg, I get hypoglycemic if I don't eat every 2-3 hours. How do I get around this? If I don't eat before bed I wake up at 3am hungry. I also wake up to pee 1-2 times per night.
I’m definitely finding it to be truth. I was fighting a cold about a week ago, began eating less and less for a week, but was still taking OAB meds. Then I started feeling a slight cramping, felt this feeling before, but this time I stopped taking my OAB med so the stomach cramp could cease. Following the next few days, I realized I was going to bathroom much much less. I was shocked because I thought I would be urinating so frequently because I had to stop taking a pills. It’s been about a week and the overactive bladder has ceased testing stop taking your overactive bladder medicine for a few days and see what happens. If you wear over the bladder pets, of course continue wearing them while you test your body out. Hallelujah!
make sure to check for bladder cancer because my mother has been diagnosed with it and the doctors for 5 years didn't take her seriously for waking up few times to pee. 🙏 many doctors are just horrible and should be locked up
What has really helped for me is not drinking liquid 3 hours before bedtime.
Sitting has helped me and I pretty much do it all the time. I too, try not to drink much at least 3 hours before bed which helps a lot.
I would push it to no fluids 5 hours before bed for even better results.
@@airman6822 - sitting has really helped. I was shocked how much it helped.
Will say a pray for you. Hoping you are doing better.
I just prayed for you...Please, if you don't know Jesus....know him today...
God Bless.

You are getting close. You are going to make it.
I had never heard of sucanat. With a bit of research I found that it has some nutrients so it's healthier than plain sugar but it's still sugar. Still if you have to have some sweets other than fruit then this may be a decent option. Really interesting. I may try some.@@janellebird5432

So, I don’t know where you live in the world, but the story was 100% true as related to me. However, you are entitled to believe whatever you want to believe.

Why is your salad full of carbs?
I was waking up anywhere from 3-7 times in the night. I was pulling over to go pee. I am as carrying pee jugs. It was a pain in the butt big time. Had my bloodwork done and it was good. The thing that helped me was drinking distilled water with 1/4 tsp of Celtic sea salt but slowly. It helped my body absorb the minerals from the salt on a cellular level. I get up once sometimes not at all in the middle of the night. I hope this helps.
M
Could you share WHY distilled water. Have heard several say sip not gulp water all day with a little salt under the tongue.
@@sharonthompson3938
Sure, the reason is because it’s the purest form of water with it being 0 ppm, meaning it has no impurities or anything in it at that.
@@sharonthompson3938
Oh plus if you drink a lot of distilled water it does have a tendency to leach the body out of its minerals so it’s actually important to pay attention to your body and keep your mineral levels up.
This is so true. When i did my last cut, i lost about 20kgs and i was doing IF as well as daily excersies + low carb.
I got this issue wayyyy less back then. I still had it tho, but it was like 50 percent less than it is now while im bulking.

Stay safe!

👋 Hi Joan oh no ! You’ll get used to the hose noise eventually 💨. I’m using resmed 10 machine . Started with F&P nose mask & headgear that always leaked . Now using resmed N20 very comfortable headgear with silicon or memory foam nose pieces . Great for side sleepers 🛌 good luck
I do everything you said. I am on a 18/6 eating schedule so I stop eating AND DRINKING at 4:00pm and STILL wake up one or two times per night. It's called getting old (75). B/P 112/67 and BMI 19.5. Low, low, low carbs. I am an outlier. I am an Apoe2.
Do you have chronic cardiac failure?
@@mithidas4295Are you on drugs? B/P 112/67, BMI 19.5, same weight and waist size (135 lbs - 29") from when I graduated H.S in 1967. ONE $4 prescription in my adult life (antibiotic for a root canal). Last physical was my Army physical in 1969. Don't know what bloating,or acid reflux is. No aches or pains ever in my life.
@mithi.What’s that ? To do with the heart ?
Thanks in advance.
@@wilmafallon8712 EXACTLY. I am an outlier. I am Apoe2.
Nocturia is also a symptom of a build up of acetylcholine in your body due to inherited Pseudocholinesterase Deficiency.
Dr.Berg. I think your granfather was German.I have been following you for sometime now. I see the German precision and open honesty in your words.
I am Italian but worked in Germany 36 years. Good Work.
Yes, I use an electric activator to help my wife with this problem.
Do explain anterior pelvic tilt? Don't know what you mean? 🙄
its not a disease.
@@sunset6958
Ok...Will check that channel out for upright exercise.
That makes sense to me. Thank you.
Can you make a clip for us on perfumes and their uses, and are they harmful, and what are the best perfumes?
And those who get headaches because of perfumes
Yes. See Dr Berg’s videos on perfumes.
I’ve been doing this for 24years - since I was pregnant with my now 23 year old daughter . WOW nearly a quarter of a century. The only time it stopped was when I was doing Keto . Unfortunately I couldn’t continue on keto bc of my histamine intolerance 😩
Try Boswellia serrata it helps a lot with histamine intolerance.
Great 👍
Further to my initial comment I would like to thank all of you for your prayers and sympathy.
My Dad is diabetic and can’t do intermittent fasting. What should diabetics do? Many thanks, best teacher on the internet by far.😊
This is really the way to get rid of nocturia really fast. I had to go like 2h, I was so annonyed and just sleepy the whole day. I have almost 60 pounds of and can sleep for 6-7 h again!
Blood pressure meds and allergy meds can also have an effect on your urination like Lisinopril and losartan
YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST DR. BERG!
THANK YOJ FOR BEING HERE AND TEACHING US TO LIVE OUR HEALTHIEST LIFE!!
❤❤❤
Thank you very much for your kind message. Greatly appreciate it!
Thank you for not scaring men to death. So many men are told to be scared.
I think I drink too much tea..!
Diuretic is black tea..
when I stopped having tea after 8 pm I found it was back to normal, once a night at about 5am
I mean straight up reversal of my sleeping condition
I went from 4 to 6 times a night, to 0 to maybe an occasional 2.
Superb video has always, Dr Berg. Some people do have an irritated bladder and should see a urologist.
I am a woman and I have had this problem since I was a child. I do not have sleep apnea. Do not snack at night. I eat healthy, but I have notice when I drink alcohol it is worse. It is quite annoying waking up in the middle of the night.
Got it, thanks for clarifying that.
Wish there was an award for best natural health remedy consultant on the web. And the award goes to……….Dr. Berg!👏
Thank you for the information you continuously share & caring in such a kind, honest & positive way. God Bless You! ❤🙏😇
Very glad to be of help!
Thank you Dr. Berg, didn't know that carb reduction would help.
Good morning to everyone! Thanks, Dr. Berg! 💪
You're welcome!
I'm 54. I have sleep apnea. You are correct on that one. I now have a CPAP machine so I took care of that. I've cut carbs for a while now. Gonna start cutting sugar. Started taking Saw Palmetto just in case. Only wake up one time a night now and its a full bladder.@@Drberg

Thank you Dr Berg I really appreciate you letting us know what to do about our little problem God bless your family young man have a great day 👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷
I watched this video and tried this solution yesterday night. Today i return here to update result. Thanks doctor, it works. Slept like baby for 6 hrs. First time complete sleep in 9 years.
Thank you for all that you do to help us stay healthy! ❤😂🎉
You also recommended consuming vitamin B1 in one of your early vdos.
Every time I completely cut out carbohydrates from my diet, I start having to run to the bathroom at night. What's the reason for this, Dr. Berg? Please give me a hint.
See Dr Berg’s videos on the beginning of ketosis and on water weight.
It makes sense, however, sometimes, even fasting, no overweight, no diabetes, low refined carbs intake, nocturia persists, and as I take HBP meds, I think that’s the issue.
Such awakening advice. Thank you very much Dr Berg.
You're most welcome!
❤ dr berg you are genius
I rather narrow nasal passages. Typically I get up 2 or 3 times per night. After watching this I bought and applied nose strips before going to bed. Now I have nights I dont get up at all, but most nights are just once.
How do we handle waking up in pain during the night and having to move positions?
Love Dr. Berg, but I find watching his vids at 1.5X helpful because of how slowly he talks, lots of pauses... which is fine, its his style, but I often am looking for the bottom line and 1.5X helps.
Waking up to pee, is better than pissing the bed....
The content is fantastic and very well explained. Although the pre-recorded technical names have me in stitches... I can't stop laughing, and it's also a reminder that even content creators are just people too.
Another very informative Video! thank you, Dr. Berg 😇😇😇
You must be doing something right because I noticed your eyes look very clear.
After 15 years of failed medicines and herbs, finally am waking only once a night and sometimes, I can even sleep through the night! I used to wake four times! All thanks to Eric Berg who taught me about insulin resistance. Gonna start praying for him, this man changed my life for the better.
I do drink apple cider vinegar thanks to you and truly enjoy it.
Excellent. Keep up the good work!
i eat at 3-4pm and sleep a 930 10pm. no water after my last meal and a cup after 1 or 2pm and i drink my liquid mornings. thats literally the only way and i still pee 1x when sleeping. the only way to not pee at all when sleeping is in hot weather (use the fan not AC) and eat bread or food that has very little water like meat
i even fasted for 86 hours and 48hr no water and still had to pee in the night during sleep. crabs arent the issue. its genetics@Helenegardener
Is a shot of stevia in coffee daily counted as "sugar"? Thanks!
Stevia is fine to consume, but make sure it doesn't contain additives that spike blood sugar such as maltodextrin, dextrose, etc.
I had a bad spate of peeing in the night. Fortunately managed to resolve it now but it took a couple of weeks! My girlfriend still needs to pee in the night, will pass your advice on, thanks Doc 😊
Wishing good health to both of you.
I watch your video and follow. I learn so many from you. Please make a video on how children can get rid of bed wetting.
What would we do without you Doc?! Thank you for everything!
Thanks for your comment. Glad to help you all.

Hyperinsulinemia I.e., Insulin Resistance may be responsible.Check fasting C-PEPTIDE level.
Some of Dr Berg’s videos /articles on hypoglycemia, on hunger, etc. may be of interest.
🙏 many doctors are just horrible and should be locked up
Dr berg sir I love the way you speak
So politely
