Or to put it in an easier way, it's just the dev's way of making the game more challenging. Btw the last surviving plane of the airstrike is invincible.
The A-10 in real life was designed for survivability, considering it can survive 20mm rounds thrown at it. Yet GDI is willing to authorize the Orca, a clearly flimsier aircraft, even when SAMs are in the area! Fun fact: did you know that the SAM Site can actually survive an Ion Cannon attack if the launcher isn't raised from the underground bunker?
SAM sites in tiberian Dawn are obviously overpowered, glad they fixed it in RA lol. Survives just about anything thrown at it, ion cannons, nukes etc (if it's not opened)
Its because in the GDI Campaign which takes place in Europe all GDI pilots are actually NATO pilots. I found it somewhat useful especially if you can strike at the Hand of Nod where all the enemy troops are waiting. Halfway through the game you would have figured out every church has $2000, so as your sending troops to find and destroy that church they can also be hunting for Sam Sites. Thus you destroy the Sam Sites before the game ends.
Tactics seem to be: build refineries at tiberium. Build defensive turrets and overwhelm with infrantery. Attack with engineers. Get cash from capturing silos. Dont bother with tanks.
Real time at the speed of the game on the actual computer. In this case "actual computer" is disputable - he's not using a 386, but it is technically still a PC - but it's not an emulator speed button, it's the in-game speed settings.
as long as nobody is speedrunning the game on real hardware so that the ingame timer runs real-time, we have to accept real-time on CPUs with higher clock speeds and not ingame time. It's the only way.
A speedrun that uses an Emulator's speed up functionality would be considered cheating and would not be accepted. Pokemon speedruns are played at the speed the game allows you to play them at. If you could somehow glitch the game itself to play faster, that would be acceptable. But as it stands, no glitch has been found. The game here is not technically being played at the intended speed, but ingame functionality allows you to play the game at as fast as your CPU can process it and that is not cheating or unfair because it is something the game itself lets you do, whether intentionally or not. Also, the ingame clock is totally useless as it (clearly) does not count correctly.
Great run. Absolutely love all your speedruns for the early C&C releases. Any plans to do a speedrun for the other final GDI mission where you start in the top-right corner? That's one of my favorite Tiberium Dawn missions.
I think it's to give the impression that Nod is fully embedded in the countryside here. Also keep in mind that since Tiberium spreads, that Hand of Nod might not have been in a bad spot at first... but eventually... also don't the Nod semi-worship Tiberium?
No, they flippin' DO worship Tiberium. So it makes a little bit of sense (however little) for them to willingly live among it. Also, I think in-story Nod has ways of surviving prolonged Tiberium exposure.
This version of tiberian dawn has some tracks that weren't in the original playlist (I think the creator of the patch might've mixed these tracks which probably came from covert operations or something with the original TD soundtrack)
The only thing I remember from doing this mission is a bunch of sandbags, and being annoyed I had 2 casualties from some techs I got from selling silos. Also my time was probably several hours. I'd sell one sandbag and let the enemy units come through into a wall of Goliath tanks. Best way to get money in a drawn out game like that was to let the enemy havestor get a load, then steal a bunch of their silos, since one load for them gave them infinite money to max capacity. Unfortunately, that can lead to casualties..
In game timer says 1 hour, video is 14 minutes 28 seconds, so I guess this is approximately 4x normal speed? I must admit, the game does seem to be a lot faster than the default. Are you able to up the clock on your computer to make the game play any faster than 4x?
But you aren't using the ingame clock or caring about it, otherwise your time would be 1 hour, right? So speeding up the program even more could net you a faster time, it's basically what you've done already. I am wondering how far you can take it.
@@TheEdmon there is one higher level of speed in the settings. It's too fast for any human to play at constantly though. Probably put in to farm tiberium while base defenses handle everything.
The higher speed used to be playable, back when one was playing this game on a 486 or a Pentium, maybe even a P2. It basically just doesn't have a game speed limit at all, max speed is "go as fast as the computer can."
So, ah, ahem. I was able to win on 4 v 1 matches against me on player vs player back in the day. This skill level I am watching puts me to shame. Very well done.
Wow, you really think so? Yeah I won a good amount of matches, but there was this one map, where it was either a 5 or 6 player map, can't remember. Anyway, the spawn locations were randomized back then. It was a desert map, started smack dab in the middle of the map on top of a hill with one exit. The enemy team of 4 started all around me. I got my ass handed to me that one lol. Either way, awesome world record, all the final GDI levels took me hours of gameplay time with like, 10000 casualties all together. War is a messy business. And the AI is a cheating bastard. (1 harvester makes it back to refinery and fully refills enemy silos in 3 seconds) XD. On Red Alert, I get my ass handed to me by just one AI on skirmish :C
@@Sunnysideanyway To be fair, it is still kind of realistic. It is the enemy last stand, they are going to pull all the stops to bring you down. This is what I liked about old rts games, how hard the final battles were. Games like command and conquer, state of war, and mech commander all had brutal final levels. Although I myself did not see it in Tiberian Sun or Kane's Wrath, I am glad that Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 1 had such tough last levels. And especially true for TW once patched. The toughest C&C level in the whole franchise in my opinion is Covert Ops level Twist of Fate.
i liked to build a defending base though just how i was i wasn't a rusher i had OCD when i was young aswell where i would have to make a base with uncessary walls to look nice lol and even do the little squares for the guard towers etc lmao!
Something that really ticks me off in those games. This is the final mission. GDI now has backup from Europe to crush NOD's last stronghold. They would probably pour a lot of ressources to do so. So why do you only start with one MCV, one tank and barely enough credits to build a base ?
I suppose you can pretend that the cash actually represents logistics capacity limitations. So due to the location of the mission, they could only send a limited amount of materiel represented by your starting cash (lets pretend there are sealift logistics problems with sending more) and assume that surrounding Nod forces have cut off further reinforcement so you'll need to build everything out of Tiberium from that point onwards.
As efficient and impressive as the victory is......why oh why did he have to sell the communications array? Does he not know how important that is for the viewers? ugh!!!!
i think you could finish faster by basewalking silo+guard towers. in fact 99% of GDI missions can be finished faster by basewalking in general. that's all multiplayer ever was as well
there is on the other map a faster way go to the Island where the tempel stands mikro your soldiers to kill the one tank build 1 engi and take the tempel
The takeaway here is that this is more of a smartplay than a speedrun. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty fast, but C&C 1 wasn't a game build to be fast nor meant to be fast. Buildings in particular were very hardy as you saw - in fact the best base crackers in this game were the Flame Tank and Artillery - followed by Stealth Tank and Recon Bikes. Many people as well as myself thought the Mammoth or Rocket Launcher were base crackers - but in general, GDI units were pretty slow at disposing of buildings. GDI units were just very good at fighting due to their high health, but DPS wise, GDI infantry are better - hence you see here why Rocket Soldiers were favored. I found the smartplay lacking though - Flame Tanks and Artillery have amazing base cracking abilities not capitalized on. Try using Flame Tanks vs Guard Towers and Adv. Guard Towers and you'll see why - fighting at close range meant the Adv. Guard Tower couldn't hurt the Flame Tank.
If u dont destroy the Hand of Nod in the base, there will be no nuclear Strike, unless you attack the temple of Nod with orcas (sry for my bad english:D)

In game timer says 1 hour, video is 14 minutes 28 seconds, so I guess this is approximately 4x normal speed? I must admit, the game does seem to be a lot faster than the default. Are you able to up the clock on your computer to make the game play any faster than 4x?
you have ingame settings to regular the game speed. But when you max the speed, the ingame clock counts faster.
6:34 -- that showoff Colonel Burton's got nothing on C&C1 minigunners.
So, ah, ahem. I was able to win on 4 v 1 matches against me on player vs player back in the day. This skill level I am watching puts me to shame. Very well done.
I think you'd win, TD multiplayer isn't something I understand too well, I'm more of an RA player :)
@@HimzoKevric The developers tried to compensate for the AI's immense stupidity.
@@HimzoKevric Yeah, I used to think Hell's Fury was hard until I saw that one.
Oh the nostalgia of Win 95
oh nostalgia of msdos 😂
i liked to build a defending base though just how i was i wasn't a rusher i had OCD when i was young aswell where i would have to make a base with uncessary walls to look nice lol and even do the little squares for the guard towers etc lmao!
Something that really ticks me off in those games.
This is the final mission. GDI now has backup from Europe to crush NOD's last stronghold. They would probably pour a lot of ressources to do so.
So why do you only start with one MCV, one tank and barely enough credits to build a base ?
Yeah they should’ve made it like Soviet’s final mission in RA. Lots of tanks and cash
It's the grand finale of Tiberian Dawn and GDI sends you only a SINGLE Medium Tank to spearhead the assault on Kane's fortress?
Splice are 6:26?
Which music is played from 6.00 ?
As efficient and impressive as the victory is......why oh why did he have to sell the communications array? Does he not know how important that is for the viewers? ugh!!!!
Thomas Longrigg I need the money to speed the mission up :)
And you already now the map :)
Thomas Longrigg have to agree lol drives me nuts not seeing the map
Maps are so small in this game that I usually sell my comm array (or just never build one) for money and power capacity.
I hate not having a radar map. Can't be doing with it
i think you could finish faster by basewalking silo+guard towers. in fact 99% of GDI missions can be finished faster by basewalking in general. that's all multiplayer ever was as well
there is on the other map a faster way go to the Island where the tempel stands mikro your soldiers to kill the one tank build 1 engi and take the tempel
Very proactive playthrough
Why does the video cut at 626 🤔
That's not a cut; that's a nuclear bomb going off, as the EVA says.
Cant wait of remastered version
I needed 1 1/2 hours for this mission XD
:P
You have 1 1/2 hours fun and he has 15 mins fun :)
Excited for remaster? This is just pure dominance
Of course
If u dont destroy the Hand of Nod in the base, there will be no nuclear Strike, unless you attack the temple of Nod with orcas (sry for my bad english:D)
I think you meant Temple of Nod, but even if you don't take it down it'll still shoot a nuke after some time.
wish i was this good at RTS. sadly im a turtle
Play games like StarCraft 1-2, OpenRA and pretty much any C&C game for a while and you'll get better.
Joshua Van Tassell SC1 is very hard and Turtle makes you lose 90% time.
@@pyroide2212 StarCraft 1 just has a learning curve. I like it's difficulty. A challenge is fun. I never said turtling was good anyways.
Joshua Van Tassell Yeah, I’m always with the learning curve since 2004 lol. I been playing SC1 for 14 years. Yeah I played SC2 also, but not as much as SC1. Honestly though it’s all about timing and good apm along with micro and macro. I think SC2 is a good game to start as a beginner as of my opinion..
@@pyroide2212 Command and Conquer and StarCraft are great RTS franchises. They are so different yet so fun.
That fucking Tiberium regrowth eh?
call it bad stratergy but i never sold a building even if they were about to blow up 🤣 and when i got hold of the other teams construction yard ie entire technology if i was gdi i would have to build a nod base and vise versa 🤣
You didn't use sandbags but you still cheaped the game out with silos and engineers. Fun watch cause I miss the game but try again. Kane Lives... Cheers... :)
It’s not cheaped our because silos can be attacked by the AI. And what’s wrong with using engineers lmao
Cant wait for June 5th
That's some pro base-walking right nya...
where the hand of nod comes from ... a few pictures before it wasnt there Oo
and no base around .... Oo
The AI can build anywhere without needing adjacent buildings
RUclips video: Time taken 14 mins 14 seconds. End Screen 14:21: Time - 1 hour, 0 minutes.
RUclips video: NO GAY SANDBAGS. Also RUclips video: GAY SILOS.
Silos are legit because the AI fires at them
@@TheCNCChannel yeah man, just teasing. Nice run 💪 👌
so it goes c and c, red alert, dwan, sun red alert 2 etc?
Yup
Red Alert 2 takes place before Tiberian Dawn.
Also, I don't consider it canon.
Joshua Van Tassell why not?
@@TheCNCChannel Technology. A lot of thag stuff could've been used in Tiberian Dawn. Also, Yuri is never mentioned in any of the games in the Tiberium games.
Imagine versing someone and he just engineer capture barracks engineer capture yeah whole base gone
High risk high reward...
The biggest threat was the ore trucks 🤣
Make the mistake of hurting an enemy harvester and tge AI will obliterate you
You're a madman!
this game gives me anxiety, its too hard.
took me 3hrs to do this mission
The AI isnt rebuilding like it normally would
When you place a building on where the AI’s building once stood it won’t build because it’s continually trying to place it there but can’t
@@TheCNCChannel that, and also because you captured their structures. Best way to stop them from rebuilding and to enjoy their advantages
Who needs tanks when you have turrets, haha.
Kane went to toilet, all NOD forces are destroyed
Did a mission that took me at least an hour as a kid in 15 mins nice lol
nice
Nice!!!
Command & conquer is not a Real Time Strategy game but a Rhytim Time Strategy Game
Beefy commando gay sailer moon
No gay sandbags.
New LLC 3 story
That was fast:)
jo hurtigere jo sjovere eller ? bedst til skrivemaskine 2.0 haha
Silos = Sandbags
I think he mastered his mouse.. lol
calculated
good. took me 35 minutes and was the longest mission of my SR. too bad its not on real hardware with real gamespeed.
This is real hardware and real gamespeed. Original release is PC. The game let's you change the game speed as a setting in options. It's no different a setting than music volume.
Enemy AI gets unlimited nukes. Typical ....
I can only conclude after watching a bunch of your speedruns of how useless the radar building is....
*speed up level* this is never the 1:1 from the PSX ... :| no real record boy. At least 50% ...
This is played on the PC not PSX
Hnnnggg this MUSIC.
lol gg mate
