Suyaki™ - Nakamoto Forestry

Suyaki™ is the original, unbrushed yakisugi and can be installed both indoors or outdoors. When it’s finished being heat-treated, the surface takes on a dramatic and beautiful texture. It’s a delicate surface, so we often finish it with an oil that helps keep it from chipping or flaking off, but it should still be installed carefully in an area where it won’t be bumped into or scratched often. Suyaki will generally last longer than brushed versions of yakisugi "shou sugi ban", due to the heavily charred surface that is left intact.

It is a very beautiful technique, I would like to ask you what type of nails you use to fix it to the outside, are they copper, stainless steel, galvanized steel,.... or?????

We sell stainless steel nails custom painted black. We offer both hand-drive nails and coil nails to use with a nail gun, and while both get the job done and will last, we love the look of the hand-drive nails the most
