I was really young, 8 or 9, when I last visited Ghost Town, Maggie Valley, Dollywood, Santa's Land and the rest in the 90s. Seeing /Hearing about them is always nostalgic, taking me back to the days of being a kid. It sucks that Ghost Town has closed and had so many troubles as of late. These places are one of a kind and I wish the younger generations could experience them like we did. We have to preserve them, in whatever form possible, if they can't operate in their original purpose bc they're important pieces of history.
I remember visiting here as a teenager with my sister and parents back in the mid 70's it was a happening place at the time. Even had an area over in one corner for petting and feeding of farm animals. I almost retired here about a year ago but the housing market cost doubled in just two years time putting it to far out of reach for me and my wife so we decided garden City Beach SC as a better choice. Nice video.
Thanks. All the old parks are fading away. The only ones left that look the same to me are Santa’s Land and Tweetsie Railroad. I like Garden city as well. I have a friend with a house there. Thanks for sharing 😀
Alot of fun memories here. Lived in Canton for 17 years and every time family came to visit it was "lets go to ghost town, santas land and Cherokee"! Best years of my life. I wish I never left.
Hi Timothy! That was a nice quick trip down memory lane at Seance Village; ooooops, I mean Ghost Town Village. Greedy developers have been trying to get their hands on that property for a long while now to build overpriced McMansions, etc.
@@TimothyFrench You would lose in the long run. The last years that I walked down the street to rob the bank all the kids had their noses in their cell phones. I was in and out from 2001 to 2015 and watched the crowds get smaller by the year.
No one bothered me in the parking lot but I imagine they would have some kind of security at the top. The last video I saw with someone at the top stated they had permission to be there. I would not go to the top but plenty of people have filmed the bottom from the parking lot like I did.
Sadly, it is gone. When Pigeon Forge began transforming itself from a quiet farming community into one focused on tourism, the town adopted the slogan “Action-Packed.” It’s an appropriate description evidenced by the diversity and sheer number of attractions that have come and gone through the years. Some of those included Adventure Golf, Wild Wheels and Water Bugs, Monza’s Grand Prix Racing, Jungle Cargo, Baby Animal Kingdom, Mountain Ocean, and Fairyland, which operated in the 1960s and early 1970s
People go into the parking lot, but they have no trespassing signs posted at the buildings. And you are not supposed to go up into the town, although I have seem videos of people doing it in the past

I agree. I have often dreamed of buying Ghost Town In The Sky. But I will need to win the lottery first. 😀
Thanks for sharing.
It is sad that so many places we visited as kids go away. Thanks for the memory Timothy.
It is. I wish I could open it back up.
We were there several times I miss the nostalgia.
Same here.

Loved going to ghost town myself. Lots of fun. 👍
Rode the scrambler with my 85 year old grandmother, around 1975 I believe, only memories now, I'm almost 73, so sad see these things pass.
It is. I loved the old mountain parks. Even the ones open like Tweetsie are not the same.
Thanks for sharing your memories with us.👍
I went to Ghost Town as a very little boy around 1966 and as an older boy around 1972. I was a little scared of the chairlift.
My brother used to make it rock, which I was not a fan of.
good video / yea i got pic of me and my mom riding the lift

I truly hope that never happens. Maybe I will win the lottery tonight so I can go buy it save it and reopen it. Now wouldn’t that be a story.
@@TimothyFrench That would be a great story, and you should be the person to cover it on your RUclips channel.

A different time for sure. It’s hard to get a kid to look up these days.
Thanks for sharing👍
Great video! Was this video shot super recently? Planning on going and was hoping you can provide me more insight into the current state?
This videos was shot on October 4th. The leafs should be in full color by now.
