@@Geo4everR Look, with the way modern Halo is shaping up I’m not sure I’ll stick around anyways, as I primarily play the older games. I already have the Series X so I assume the I’ll at least get the next Halo game, but Sony has better exclusives and Xbox is just struggling in general. I’ll wait and see what happens, but I’m not going to stay with Xbox to the end if the brand continues to decline.
That said, if they can pull it together in the next few years I’ll happily stick around but at this point there’s not much to stay for.

I see your side but look what that exclusivity has done since Halo 4... It's been a disaster. They need to try something new since what they've been doing hasn't been working.

Though I and millions of people looove Halo and want the best for it, we all know where it's home is.
But it's not in good hands right now, and going to PS might help it, I think. It's a tough decision, but part of Halo is on Xbox, and part of Xbox is on Halo.
If it goes away, it's really gonna set one thing: that Microsoft doesn't really care much about the 'brand' Xbox, more so the money that's coming out of the games, no matter if the money comes from Xbox itself or not.

I'm all about Halo. I always welcome new Halo fans. New players. More people interested in Halo. More games and more lore. I've been there since CE launch and LAN parties. I don't gatekeep. I just want more Halo and more people playing Halo.

The “well they can just play it on PC if they want to play it” like, not everyone can afford a pc, sometimes consoles are gifts so they may not even have the money to purchase a pc good enough to run halo games. Overall it’s a silly counter argument

That’s the situation I’m in. My xbox years ago was a gift, it died. The ps4 I have now is a gift. But I wouldnt be able to afford a pc or a new console. It’s been a bit over a decade since i’ve played Halo with my friends. So Halo being on multiple platforms would be helpful.

@@CarbyGuuGuu For now Sony does own the license to the rights to Spiderman. Disney is the ultimate owner of Marvel, but it's currently within Sony's right to keep Spiderman exclusive to their consoles. If the license ever expires, then the full rights go back to Disney and Insomnic's Spiderman games can be on as many platforms as Marvel wants, including Xbox.

Imagine telling a halo player in 2005 that in about 20 years Halo would be on PC, playstation, under a new developer, and simultaneously the best its ever been and the worst its ever been.
None of this would be an issue if Microsoft and 343 didn’t kill halo and bury it 50 feet into the ground.
If it happened, I'd welcome it. I hate the console wars, and exclusives are a huge part of it. It's all gamer plastic. Nothing more. I will have a bottle of tequila for the day exclusives die.

But that's not a negative. A negative is when something is when something gets worse. How does anything get worse for Halo players by increasing the size of the game's playerbase? Usually that's great for the health of a game. The whole "I don't want other people to have more ways to have fun if I don't also get new ways to have fun" position is just vindictive and silly.
Halo used to be almost entirely absent from PC as well, then MCC was brought to PC and it's been a great thing for the Halo franchise. Hard to see how releasing on PlayStation would somehow have the opposite effect.
If M$ won't dump money into Halo to make it a console-seller, it will have to become multi-platform to make any money
While exclusives always felt more sepcial on their own paltforms, they also continue to spark the console wars long after it should've been around. It's time for all gaming communities to unite over good games they can share together.

Problem is, this won't solve any of the existing issues with how the game is managed. To Microsoft and Sony, it would just mean a new (potentially untapped) revenue stream.
People been running polls asking PS users if they’d play halo if it came to the PlayStation and a majority have said they still wouldn’t play.

I think it’s more important to preserve and save the Halo franchise than the Xbox platform, especially with how Microsoft has been treating it
They should bring mcc to playstation, it adds more players, keeps support going and hopefully fixing bugs and crashes that are still in the game
For me, in a perfect world, all games would be playable on all platforms. I want my PC to be the only thing I need to play anything, and I'm sure others feel the same about their preferred platform. So, I'd love to see Halo on anything that will keep the games alive.

I think you hit the nail on the head - for as much as I want to share Halo with as many people as possible, I feel like releasing an exclusive, flagship game like that to a PS console feels cheap. It’s Microsoft taking the easy way out; they want money without putting in effort, so they’re increasing their sales range. And while it is a good business strategy, it only works in the short term. From the first time I saw Halo, I wanted an Xbox. And I will never forget that little special connection between the two that it has made in my mind. Releasing Halo to PS4/PS5 feels like a violation of that special connection, and I don’t really like the idea of having it broken. There’s a touch of intimacy (yes I’m probably using it wrong, shout at me in the comments later) between an exclusive game and the console it belongs to, and disconnecting the two just feels… wrong. What Halo needs is not to be released on more platforms, what Halo needs is to be given love from the developers like Bungie did, not get cut corners and stuffed with paywalled content (ahem 343).
Honestly, I think it should release on as many platforms as they are capable.

If this does come to pass I hope they’ll put together a system of transferring your data, achievements, save files, XP, etc. across from your Xbox account to PlayStation. Just so those wanting to switch consoles don’t have to start from scratch again.

I'm going to be honest, I want to play Halo with the Dual Sense Triggers.
I've been on Xbox since the 360 came out. It was the first console I ever bought. Been on it ever since, I feel like the best thing for Halo is to come to Playstation. I think it will greatly expand the life and quality of the franchise. It will bring in enough money that Microsoft would be willing to put more into it

As a massive Halo fan since Combat Evolved, I personally would love to see MCC and Halo in general on PlayStation. I don't even have a PlayStation but I just want to see more players on these games. I never want MCC to die. Halo 3 and Reach hold a special place in my heart and my biggest fear is that one day they will be so unpopulated that I cant even find a game anymore. It is already very difficult to find ranked matches. I know nothing lasts forever but I only see Halo on PlayStation to be a positive thing.

My thoughts on exclusivity in general is that I can only really afford one console every 5 years or so.
So by being exclusive the game Devs miss out on a sale that they would have made otherwise.
Now I believe that this is now becoming a more normal thing with the cost of living sky rocketing, meaning Devs are not making as much because normal people can't afford multiple systems anymore.
