  • In this dialogue, a young man expresses a lack of assurance concerning his personal salvation. Unfortunately, this is the fruit of such teaching propagated by the Orthodox church. Let's be sure to hold ourselves and others accountable for accurately citing scripture in its context. Also, let's pray that this young man will come to trust in Jesus Christ ALONE for his salvation. God bless! - OD ‪@NeedGodnet‬

One of the first things the Orthodox gentlemen said to the question of salvation assurance was he wasn't sure because it's based on our righteousness and repentance. Brothers and sisters, our most righteous day we'll ever live on this earth is a complete filthy rag in the eyes of God. No one is good, no not a single one. Apart from faith in Jesus Christ we are dead. We are lawless, depraved and guilty in our trespasses.
Jesus Christ the Messiah was the only one who could fulfill the law all the while mankind was utterly condemned by it. No amount of righteousness will justify you, only faith, and even that was given to you by God.
Faith in Jesus Christ is our only hope. Not our good works or our righteousness. Repent and believe the gospel.

I came out of Greek Orthodoxy when God saved me. Many Orthodox believers have no idea what the gospel is. They go to church as lost souls and assume they are in God’s church. No clue about their sins and walk in darkness. I know because it was me. Many don’t read the Bible on their own to learn about salvation as a free gift! Satan has blinded the eyes of unbelievers into believing they must clean themselves up in order to look worthy by God but it’s the other way around.

It would help abundantly if it was mentioned as well for clear context. That Matthew 7 that gets misunderstood easily, because this is Jesus speaking to the [Jews.] He made this statement very clear and bold towards them. Because he already knew that the Jews would be difficult to "repent" of their current faith, or way of believing in what was true. For that truth to now be solely upon Jesus Christ, who stood before them.
This passage applies today for anyone [other religions] who does not believe solely in Jesus Christ & his blood for the finished work he did on the cross. But if you do believe, then you are saved until the last day. For he will ensure to raise you at your last breath to himself to be washed new.

How to have assurance of salvation from God's punishment and enter in His kingdom?
Almost all people have their own religion and belief, because they want to be worthy and be saved from God's punishment for their sin in the lake of fire. And more people are looking the right religion because they think that there is a true religion that can save them, so they move from religion to religion but when the teachings of a religion that he joined was wrong, his basis of salvation will be wrong also and he may perish in hell, instead of being saved.
So when you join a religion, first ask from them their doctrine or teaching about salvation.
    Here's the question:
What must I do to be saved?
Here are the different answers from each religion to this question:
    1. Join/be a member of the true Church
    2. Obey God's Commandments
    3. Obey the teachings of the gospel or the whole law of Christ
    4. Obey the seven sacraments
    5. Obey the five pillars of good behavior.
    6. Do good and charity
    7. Be baptized in water
    8. Live a new life/have a change life
    9. Serve God faithfully
    10. Repent and crucify yourself
    11. Be devoted to the black Jesus the Nazarene, papa Jesus, mama Mary and other saints
    12. Surrender the seed of the viper to God
    13. Accept the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior
    14. Persevere to the end
    15. Acknowledge Jehovah as the true God, follow His commandments and adhere to pure religion.
    16. Believe and do good
    17. Believe and be baptized in water
    18. Believe and obey God's commandments
    19. Believe and surrender your whole life to God
    20. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
    The correct answer and explanation:
Paul's direct answer to the prisoner's question: "What must I do to be saved?" is: "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved..."
    Acts 16:30-31
This truth cannot be accepted by many people, because of what James said, that faith without works is dead, James 2:17-22. They also used what Jesus says in the book of Mathew 7:21-23 but when you examine what the Lord Jesus said you will notice that it was not said: Not everyone who believes in Me will enter the kingdom of God..., but what He said is: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."
And the will of God the Father is to believe in His Son to have eternal life. John 6:28-29
Apostle Paul said that works cannot save a person Ephesians 2:9 because salvation is God's gift to anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 And after receiving salvation he will devote his life to doing good, not to be saved but because he is already saved. Ephesians 2:8-10
Believing in the Lord Jesus is the work and will of God that man must do, but other people instead of doing God's work for them, they relied on their work for God. Matthew 7:21-23; John 6:28-29
    Question:
Why did Paul's answer to the jailer was that you believe in the Lord Jesus to be saved?
    Answer:
    1.) That is exactly what the Lord Jesus preached, John 3:15-18,36; 6:29, 35, 40, 47; 7:38, 39; 8:24, 46; 11:25-26
2.) That is also what His Disciples preached. Acts 16:30-31; 10:43; 1 John 3:23; 5:1
3.) This faith comes from God. Jude 1:3; Romans 12:3; 2 Peter 1:1
4.) Faith is also the will of God that He asks people to do to have eternal life and salvation, John 6:28, 29, 40, 47; 3:15-18; Acts 16:30-31
5.) Salvation is God's grace, a free gift that can be received, not by works but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ His Son. Galatians 3:22-24; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:4-7; Romans 4:5-8 even he is the worst person who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
    1 Timothy 1:15,16
6.) Jesus Christ Himself is the only One who can reconcile us to God by believing in Him, not a religion itself.
    2 Corinthians 5:19-21
7.) Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the way to be forgiven of sin, to have a clean heart, justified and to be saved. Acts 10:43; 15:9; Romans 5:1; 16:30-31
    Acts 10:43
Everyone who believes in Jesus will have their sins forgiven through His Name. All the prophets agree that this is true.”
When you rely on your work as the basis of your salvation you will only be confounded and perished but when you believe in the Lord Jesus you will not be confounded and perished.
1 Peter 2:6; Romans 9:33; 10:11-13; John 3:15-18 instead, you will be saved from God's punishment for your sin because of His grace. Acts 16:30, 31; John 3:16; 2 Timothy 3:15; 1 Corinthians 1:21; Isaiah 53:1-10
This is what can be read in 1 Corinthians 1:21 This is what God in his wisdom decided: Since the world did not find him through its own wisdom, he used the message that sounds foolish to save those who believe it. (It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe)
    Also read: 2 Timothy 3:15
If you believe this, express your faith to God:
"I confess now that Jesus Christ is the Lord who died on the cross for the payment of all my sins according to Romans 5:8 and I believe with all my heart that God was raised Him from the dead, according to Romans 10:9-10,
Thank you for the eternal life and salvation You have given me today because of Your grace for me in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
If you really believe in the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart you are saved but I want you to know that you were not saved because of this sinner's prayer but because of God's grace since you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is also your Intercessor or your Mediator when you sin. 1 John 2:1-2; Hebrews 7:25
And now that you are save, devote your life to doing good, not to be saved but because you are saved already.
    Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-9; Truth 2:11-12
This is as evidence that you can show people that you truly believe James 2:14-23 and also you can distribute them in the faith so that you will not stumble, you will not forget that you have been forgiven and you will not be left to be lazy or without result of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5-9 so that God may be glorified in your good works. Matthew 5:16 Also look for the religion that teaches that salvation is God's grace that is a free gift of God to those who believe in His Son Jesus Christ and join there so that you will grow and be stable in spiritual life through the Word of God. Be baptized there Acts 16:30-33; Matthew 28:19, 20 and serve God without hypocrisy but with faithfulness and love so that you can also receive a reward from the Lord.
    Matthew 25:21, 23; 1 Corinthians 16:14; Revelation 22:12; 1 Corinthians 3:14-15
To God alone be the glory in Jesus' name!

For as is the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people, and My chosen ones will fully enjoy the work of their hands. 23 They will not labor in vain or bear children doomed to disaster; for they will be a people blessed by the LORD- they and their descendants with them. 24 Even before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but the food of the serpent will be dust. You are clueless. Christ says by their works you will know them and he who believeth in him may have everlasting life, but those who believe in him will follow him and do his will otherwise their belief is
fake. You are pushing a faith that does not even try to do Gods will. That is harmful. You are using a circular argument. To believe is to do Gods works, which is to believe in Christ etc. This does not imply what true belief is. You shamefully misinterpreted these passages.
Consider Matt 16:27 27 "For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done." Also Revelation 20 :13 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. " So it sounds like works and deeds have a role to play.
Here is John 5 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out-those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. 30 " You prods dont understand scripture .

Peter did serve as a bishop in Rome. This role is respected, but it is not seen as establishing a line of papal authority.
Peter is regarded as a leading apostle, often referred to as the "chief" or "first among equals" among the Twelve Apostles. This title highlights his significant role and leadership, but it does not imply any supreme or unilateral authority over the entire Church

Why did Christ literally judge by works in Matthew 25? You people keep avoiding this passage like a plague because it contradicts your "just believe and relax and you'll surely be in heaven ". After believing you are required to do something as proof of your belief.

    • @rickcasual
      @rickcasual Месяц назад +2

I'll try to keep it simple, you obviously dont know anything about righteous works and where they come from, its not from you, or any man. Read ephesians 2:8-10, focus on verse 10. Who gives us work? God. What must we do first? put our faith in him alone for our salvation. If an orthodox or roman pagan tell you, you need to do this or that; Know this, they are already lost. They do not rely on God for their works, they rely on themselves and the self righteous works they literally made up.

It's not very sad because the world is deceived. Who among you are really doing the will of the Lamb of God's Father? I say very few of you. And there has been many near-death anecdotal witnesses that have seen the judgement process of many being turned away from heaven and only a very few entering through the gates. Matthew 7:13 supports these witnesses that have been given mercy to come back and tell their stories. So, the Orthodox believers, I believe are correct to be cautious with the answer to that question.

What’s the difference between Protestant and orthodox?

    • @rickcasual
      @rickcasual Месяц назад +4

Ultimately the difference is faith in Christ vs faith in man. Roman catholics and orthodox get their theology and understanding from different books and they trust in the authority of their elders and leaders. Protestants only get their understanding from scripture, scripture is their authority, making God their authority. Scripture has never changed, the giant international churches who worship men and idols always change. The roman catholic will tell you his church came first, the protestant says, ok, and looks to Christ and moves on, doing Gods will. Protestants dont call a church home, they call heaven home, they know that them and everyone who trusts in Christ as they do, are the church.

Ask Jesus Christ yourself for wisdom and understanding, he will reveal understanding to you. Most people do not do it this way, they lean into their own understanding. Roman catholics are told they need the catechism to understand the scriptures. Never rely on another book for spiritual understanding and wisdom. Too much pride in tradition to see what is clearly infront of you, which is the lust of the eyes, and the pride of self righteous works.
