I've seen David with TOP in 1972 in San Antonio, Texas backing up CCR. And 3 more times after that over 50 years. Love Garibaldi Rock on!! TOP needs to be in the R&R Hall.
On the physical side... YOUR FOOD WILL BE YOUR MEDICINE...ELSE..YOUR MEDICINE WILL BE YOUR FOOD!! HEALING...always starts in the Spiritual realm...AS A MAN THINKS, SO IS HE!! See you.. HERE, THERE... or IN THE AIR !! Bless you, Brother Dave... & FAMILIA !!
David, we are happy that you are off the road and able to enjoy life with your family the way that it's meant to be! We will cherish your musicianship with TOP and the date in Santa Fe, NM last year will never leave us. Thanks for holding down your groove for such a long, long time!
Thank's always for everything David, you know my deal- again for signing my snare drum back in the day- in Buffalo! Tremendous Inspiration!! Keep it Full Tilt Boogie
Good for you DG. I toured on the bus for 50 years, and there is a day that you must get off of it. Don't get me wrong - when you're touring the bus is the only way to make it door to door, night after night. I'm glad you realized that it was your time, and I wish you the best moving on.
Great final words from one of the best that ever took up the drums.David Garibaldi and Francis 'Rocco' Prestia were at the top of my list for a bass and drum pairing and really changed the way I listen to music. The bar was set really high right out of the gate. Thanks for all the wonderful music and here's to your good health for the rest of your life. you get up to.
Cheron..if you can get this to David... Brother Dave...ALWAYS REMEMBER...Its CHRIST-IN-YOU, the HOPE of GLORY!! Holy Spirit, that GIFT from way back when... is the REAL US!! Keep your head in the WORD... the Adversary tried to TAKE YOU OUT, but...by the GRACE of GOD, your ALIVE...PRAISE HIM & WORSHIP HIM..DAILY!! Await the MASTER'S soon return... GOD BLESS YOU & YOURS !! Joe M.
Thank you, Mr. Moore, for interviewing DG about his departure from TOP. I was most fortunate to see Tower of Power in Oakland on December 15, 2023. Following DG's announcement in January 2024, it became his last time onstage with TOP in the band's hometown. I'm so thankful that I saw the show in person, not knowing in the moment that it would be the last time I'd see him with TOP, and his second-to-last gig with the band. I look forward to hearing about his newest pursuits, post-TOP.
that's actually shocking and sad, since there were four drummers for me in one row : Clyde, Jabo, Dennis Chambers and David Garibaldi. Nobody grooved like David, I saw maybe 40+ ToP shows and as a drummer and drum fan I came due to the band but mostly because of David. Adding that he has written drum teching books nearly every renowned drum school teaches you can't express in words how big his contribution to drumming is. I will miss David on the drumming chair really so much. And it sounds not seeing him again in Europe as well, but I don't give up hope - maybe a clinic after some time, as the one I was lucky to get to in Berlin.. all the best to him and thanx 4 all you've done in case you read this. ain't nothing but a party ;)
Saw Dave many times with TOP,PLUS with a christian band called ''Takit'' and also at a drum clinic at Creative Music in Wethersfield Ct...Just a great legacy, and I pass it on to my students...Thanx for all the years...Just great.
Yes!! Legendary David G. ❤ thank you for your inspiration for me as a 11 year old kid playing drums, I cherish 2019 Mainz, Germany got to see you & the gang, Roger Smith is playing B3 on my new Single, wishing you all the best😊
First time i saw DG was in 1970, i was just home from Vietnam. I will for sure miss his chops for TOP, but everything and everyone has a beginning and has an end in this world. All the best to you DG and thanks for all the great music and great memories.
One of the greatest drummers I ever heard along with Rocco Prestia (RIP) creating a rhythm section for the ages. Enjoy the next adventure in your blessed life.
I took a break from trying to get 'on the serious side' down. All those Swedish triplets and stuff. Good god. 😅 and to think of how young he was when he came up with this stuff. I have so many questions about the process (with the band). Love you, Dave!
I've seen the band almost 100 times. Good luck DG in your retirement and new endeavors. I saw you and the band in Providence, RI in October and little did I know it was the last time. If you don't mind my asking, who's taking over the drummer's chair?
But the question that as far as i know hasn't been asked or answered yet is WHO...OH WHO IS GOING TO SUCCEED HIM IN TOP...?does anybody know...have they already found somebody...?

One of my, all time favorite Drummers!
I met David at a Drum clinic in 1994. What a cool laid back guy and of course a great drummer!

I was a drummer in the '70s when I discovered him. Opened up my drum world.
Thanks and Blessings Gents....
Your the best David ! ...Salute

Yup... TAKIT.. & Denise Williams tour, with Guitarist, Danny Hofer!! He was also with a Jazz Fusion Band.. West...something...cant remember!!
Believe it or not he also played with Gino Vannelli on one of his 80s CDs..
“big dreamers never sleep”
I could be wrong on the CD big dreamers never sleep 1987
I’m pretty sure someone will look it up
Amazing that DG could survive the million gig march as long as he did particularly after the accident he survived.
Great quote. Life is gone in a minute. Glad you were part of mine.
This legend has been my #1 inspiration for drumming,Peace and goodwill Sir !!!

Great interview and a great perspective on drumming and on life. Thank you.
It was great to see David as your guest today. One of my favorite drummers for sure! I wish him the best with his future endeavors. Thanks Cheron!
Thanks David ! greetings from Belgium.

DG is drummer-God!
Amazing drummer
David's the coolest and nicest person around!
I took a break from trying to get 'on the serious side' down. All those Swedish triplets and stuff. Good god. 😅 and to think of how young he was when he came up with this stuff. I have so many questions about the process (with the band). Love you, Dave!
I gotta Commend Mr.G. for all his Towering as a great Artist.
He is a Badd MF. We are lucky that there is a lot of stuff to watch and listen to. Thank you.
Absolute Bad MF

No….I’m actually crying. No way!
Joe Morello also started with the violin!
Soul vaccination changed my drumming ever since high school.
You can't go forever, and that's ok.
But the question that as far as i know hasn't been asked or answered yet is WHO...OH WHO IS GOING TO SUCCEED HIM IN TOP...?does anybody know...have they already found somebody...?
I wanted to play drums in elementary school, and they handed me a trumpet!!
