- How much money does it take to swap a 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 engine to Mazda Mx5 Miata? In this video I'm talking about build costs, parts needed, weight balance, and some other details about my Drift V8 miata build.

That's what i miss the most about living in Poland, friendly, helpful peeps that know what they're doing and will not rip you off.
most of the garages do crap job in UK as well when in Poland job quality is cheaper and better too
that's why the scene in the uk is so small, llf or Calvin make less views with crazy cars than for example strzelecki garage which only focuses on polish yt also the luck of skill abroad could be another factor
40 seconds I the video I really do need to give a compliment. You put the most used currencies all instead of just dollar or euro or polish. Nice!
Lower rear left coilover or make front right a bit higher. Working with coilovers will solve the weight difference and make car handle better. Love the quality of your videos, as usual :)
I think you have to move the left back a little up, because then you put more force on the spring and it pushes the car down. In this way you generate more force on the wheel and it doesnt wobble as much
Keep in mind that for the scales to properly show the weight ratio, the ground has to be 100% straight and 100% level. You can get a more accurate reading by weighing the car forwards and backwards on the same ground and taking the average for each corner.
That way it does not have to be 100% level.

Even considering savings through diy and friends' help, this is way lower than I expected. Doing the same in Germany would easily be more than 10k.

Das wären über 20k. Eher so richtung 25. V6 swap wo es so gut wie alle schon gibt kostet schon 20k.

Thanks for clearing up the weight balance issue. I've done the same conversion in the UK and always have people saying I've made the car front heavy!
Its definitely worth it. I put a 1uz Gen 1 series 2 in my s13 the balance felt great compared to a ka24de. I'm at the same price range as your build.
Americans: I want to pull my racecar so I need at least a 2500 pickup or the truck will break.
Europeans: I have a Honda CRV.
the problem isn't pulling the cars, the problem is stopping.
@@rushingaming8347 Having lived in Europe for a hot minute and going to track days in both places, stopping didn't seem to be much of an issue when pulling toys around.

There's lots you could have skipped, but you decided to do it properly so it works and is reliable. Outside isn't show car standard, but drift cars are about performance and reliability. Really glad you had all the arms and subframes powdercoated and polybushed.

I plan on doing something similar in an NB Miata. I live in the US, so the Flyin Miata kit would be easy to get, but I don't want as much power as the LS's make for my build. This was very informative. Thanks!

Genuinely a beautiful build. I just completed a similar project for my one buddy where he needed a HUGE amount of bodywork and fabrication done on his black 350z and eventually a motor swap. Everything came out beautifully and it left my shop yesterday. When your build was complete it really inspired me to do more with my place, rather than just work on my dads jobs and my own car, it gave me the confidence to take on my own jobs such as his black z and it’s been an amazing ride and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve been watching you guys for forever and I’m forever grateful for the constant inspiration from your guys videos. You put so much effort into the things your doing and it seems you never sleep. And it’s completely true to keep your head down and grind, it will always show for itself. 👍

widać cieżką pracę przy tworzeniu kanału. sporo inwestycji, a nie wypalanie na pierdoły ;).. widać, że jesteścei świadomi, że powtarzanie schematów z innych kanałów nie pomaga w rozwoju. dalszej wytrwałości , bo 400 czy 500 tys subów już nie wydaje się tak nierealnie , pozdro !

Gdybyś miał więcej czasu z tymi wagami mógłbyś spróbować corner balance. Różnica na tyle jest dosyć duża ale zabawa zawieszeniem mogłaby ją lekko zniwelować, a przerzucenie części wagi w ten sposób mogłoby złagodzić nierówny transfer wagi podczas przekładki dzięki czemu auto prowadziłoby Ci się pewniej/stabilniej. Włożyliście kupę roboty w Miatę więc warto by było zainteresować się takimi detalami.

Mysle ze dałoby rade zamknac sie w cenie 20k. Na pewno tansza alternatywa to kupno calego uszkodzonego blacharsko albo i nie lexusa ls400 z silnikiem. kupic lexa, wyciagnac silnik z wiazka ecu itp a reszte teili sprzedac. Z ciekawosci zapytam czy wiecie moze ile taki silnik moze wazyc? pozdro

Where did U install the fuel tank? Maybe replace it closer for right side of bag? Also battery. 2-3% can replace from front to rear, I hope so.
Miata is rear battery stock, Fuel tank probably stock, its over the rear axle.

not only does it take money to build a car, it takes, frustration, pain, and time but its all worth it in the end when you beast of a car starts up and destroys the streets
Not a bad price especially for the amount of work put in!
I would never add weight just to balance. Assuming you have an aftermarket LSD adds some weight in the rear. If youre correcting understeer try keeping the rear strut bars stiffer and the front more flex so the rear slides.
Damn that's a lot of work put in. Especially the fabrication; you have to learn the skills and improvise. Hope I can do it someday.
This is impressive, I wish I knew an independent mechanic who was mechanically inclined/skilled as you guys.

Personally I'm in love with those cars, but then life comes knocking saying you can't daily drive an MX-5, as it's not as all-purpose vehicle as a daily should be. Nonetheless I feel great for you. Making dreams real is what life should be about.

$3k labour for the swap? Wow. Man if someone would charge that here in the states, I'd have done 1uz swap to my miata already! $8k total build is amazing value. Very happy for you as 1UZ is a beautiful engine.

Good news & bad news, LOL. I've been around V8 Miata cars for 20+ years; owned two. Bad news: Your scale weights have to be wrong. It is showing 1040 KG (2292 lb.) as total curb weight. That's only 33KG heavier than a bone stock NA Miata; the 33KG is far more than added by your hardtop and roll bar alone. No way the V8 drivetrain is LIGHTER than stock. Problem was with left-rear load cell...no way that corner can weigh only 169.5KG (373 lb); it simply isn't possible. That weight is off by AT LEAST 110KG. The good news: Based on a realistic curb weight, that left rear has to be reasonably close to the other three corners, and your front/rear weight balance is excellent! Love the Toyota engine.

My vvt swap costed in total 3500€. A friend of mine is ultimating the rocketeer swap and Is over 15k €. That Is not at all a pnp swap!! A lot of parts Simply dont fit togheter! However great content as always

Do you need to register the swap where u live? In Estonia when u do that kinda swap u need to get permission from the Transport Administration and after the swap u need to take it there for inspection before being able to register the swap..😅
At least you can do swaps. In Italy where I live they are forbidden :/

If you want to do road legal it's probdably imposible, but for drift, race, no one cares so much, so put the engine the size you want, but if you want to go in the race with your build it has to be registered like sport car and sport pass

Beside the fact a build like this is illegal in germany the price is really good. If i want to do this here it would cost a kidney :D
Aside from the sound, maybe just a tad too much hp. I have a 300 whp ND1 and usually run low boost at ~260 whp in t 0:01 he twisties. That seems to be the sweet spot in the mountains here. Flat landers will probably love the extra hp but that’s not what the miata is about.

But why is the weight distribution on the rear so different to each other!? That's about 100kg less on the left, than on the right!? Can you swap something on the left, to get it a bit more evened out!?
it might be something to do with suspension but yeah will try to put some more weight at the back left to compensate that. Also usually I'm driving with the passenger so here goes extra 60-80kg on the left rear as well :)
