Delighted halfling and the one ring are really warping the world of magic, but good to know that 4c money pile will be a solid strategy no matter which pile you're most attracted to
The one Ring is actively better in higher quantities as you can draw into it with the first ring then legend rule and reapply protection and stop the life loss from the burden counters

Match 3 when you were worried about dying to Ring, you missed the line of "play Uro, Swords it with the sac trigger on the stack". I dunno if it was the best option but worth considering.
I hope that when they ban "the one ring" that instead of just the normal ban announcements they post a video of them dropping it into an active volcano.
A lot of people are asking if you think X new card is "healthy" or good for the format, but what do you think about the effect that all these pushed sets are cumulatively having? MH2 cards, Initiative/Minsc & Boo from commander sets, the LotR cards, etc. At least Retrofitter Foundry, Staff, Currency Converter felt good enough for the format, though not individually broken.
At 1:20:25, would there have been the option of, instead of casting uro: Prismatic Ending Minsc&Boo, then wasting the target of Wrenn's +1, take four, go to 4, untap, uro (get uro countered, but that wasn't face up at the time), have swords as backup? I think it's death in any case (they were too far ahead), but do you think this line would have a higher chance of succeeding?
I agree that playing Uro seemed to be greedy. Your line looked better as “reb” proofed. TBH my line would have been Step 1: Put fetch on the top Put prismatic ending second on top Drop tundra Step 2: Tap trop, tundra, volc to cast teferi Step 3: Bounce minsc and boo Pass turn Waste the targeted land Opp probably replay mins and boo If he pumps before combat swords in resp, if not take the damage and sword at next upkeep when he choose which token to keep Anyhow your next turn is Drop fetch Play Uro Pray to get land and prismatic ending minsc and boo. If not you can still use the stp if not done previous turn. Otherwise if used you can still survive an ultimate mind and boo If opp forced in step 2: Opp has no more cards in hand Wait at upkeep to swords the boo token kept Waste in resp to +1 Untap draw prismatic. Ending the mins and boo Pass turn Take 3 from a land Get turn Cast uro If Op reb on step 2 Same play but OP still have a card I may have missed something Cheers
Thank you for the video. Why no Basic Plains so you can Prismatic Ending Blood Moon or have white mana that untaps under Back to Basics? Does it not fit?
not to be a backseat qb, but just something I noticed about replacing your ring when the burden gets too high, draw out the cards before playing the new one.Noticed it in the round 3 game. But Im so used to negative cost and activations all being rolled in together, can see myself making the same misplay.
@@BoshNRoll Is that true? Bauble says "look at" instead of "reveal", so when opp baubles you, you know what they see since your hand is known information at all times to you. But I would think not the other way around.
It is almost ludicrous how easy it is for control decks to have full grips of 7 while also simultaneously not being at all concerned about the ring's damage to you. I know there are ways to punish these extra draws but. Wow. I'm not saying anything should be banned (and like. Better a 4 drop than some overpowered two drop in delver) but. Wow.
Playing mordern ur murktide normally ,is this a good deck to get into legacy, I had most of the expensive cards in this deck and My lgs can do proxy on dual land
I don't think any version of control is a good way to try to get into legacy. You'd be better off playing an aggro or combo deck. It has nothing to do with your skill as a player it's just overall knowledge of the format. Most of the strength of control comes from knowing what threats you have to deal with and what you have the leniency to let go. These things change depending on the deck you play against, so that's why my personal recommendation is to start with a more simple combo deck or an aggro deck. Doomsday, Reanimator, 8-cast, and Death's Shadow are all decently simple decks to pilot while you spend your time to get a feel for each matchup. But also at the end of the day it's a game so play whatever you find to be the most fun!
46:28 in the video. If you had activated ring before your draw step you could’ve brainstormed to put terminus on top of your deck and cast it for 1 mana.
Miracle triggers off the first card you draw for the turn, not the card you draw in your draw step. If you use a spell or ability to draw a card before your draw step, your draw step draw won't trigger Miracle because you already drew a card that turn. As a side note, even if Miracle did trigger off of the draw step draw, you wouldn't be able to cast Brainstorm anyway because the opponent has a Chalice on 1.
I noticed you have a lot of decks where there's only a one of wasteland in the main, I might've missed the explanation but curious what your reasoning for it is. Like how do you decide that a deck can't have more than one?
Karakas, Dark Depths, and Urza's Saga are all things I'm worried about with decks like this. I'm also a 4 color soup pile trying to cast UUGG spells and XRW spells. My deckbuilding rule is cast your spells first, then start solving specific problems with your remaining slots. That usually results in 1 or 2 Wasteland for this style.
@@BoshNRoll oh wow that makes a lot of sense! Your ability to pinpoint the problems your decks could face is so cool! Thanks for taking the time to explain!
Around 51:50, I think you missed between three and seven cards with The One Ring, for 0 to 1 life. If you don't mind the extra 1 damage, you could have drawn 3 in the end step, and then draw another 4 on your turn before you play the second ring. Not that you really needed the extra cards there.
I look forwards to a day where Boshnroll goes into a tournament to win with an uro deck instead of cephalid breakfast. No offense breakfast but you don't run Uro or Loam.
34:29 I would just have cast the second Forth Eolingas and be the beatdown. I get that you have a control deck, but the really good players know when to switch gears and start beating down.
@@BoshNRoll You're right about that, I didn't spot The One Ring, and sorry for being unnecessarily condescending there -- however the turn after that, 35:13 , you cast Loam when a second Forth Eorlingas would also have been better imo. Ah to dark Bant or hot Bant, this is the question. To exploit the slings and arrows of bowmaster or to enjoy making up plural forms of Erolingusies
To Dark or Hot for Bant- that is the question

My record's strong, the tourney continues,
The pains of fetched up lands, slow play delays,
The Companions errata, and the burn

When he himself casts his Goblin Guide and

I loved the gameplay of this video, 4c piles are my fav, but the best part to me was the thumbnail. Definitely the best one yet, imo.
@BoshNRoll 38:58 The battle for the monarch was so unnecessary, when you had ring protection. Feels a little like you got baited. XD
Excited to see the halfling in action, feels like most of the hype has been on the ring/bowmasters and occasionally forth.

I love in match 2 game 2 they fought over the monarch even those he had protection 😂
Idris Elba does work in this deck!

Forth Eorlingas looking REALLY good at ending the game
I'm interested in hearing your take on CEDH /or Blue Farm updates with how relevant LOTR seems to be to the format.
Good news! I’m traveling to a major cEDH tournament right now. I will have an update and hopefully a tournament worth reporting about afterwards. :)

I talk about that in the league and in the wrap up. I would play 3 ring 1 M&B now
For sure, I made the comment only after seeing the decklist and not the whole video. Didn't mean to beat a dead horse.

not sure if a deck with halfling, ring and sheoldred has already been made; if not it should be on the list somewhere...
