    About Alina crying after she entered the room: Remember what Mal and her were talking about in episode 1? As children they were taught not to cry in front of people, only cry when you're alone, and to always keep a weapon on you. She experienced so many horrible things over the course of only a couple of days and didn't cry once, but the moment the door closes and she's finally alone, she is finally allowed to let the tears out. Plus she snuck that letter opener underneath the pillow (=weapon). Love your reactions to the show so far, can't wait for more!!

    The people who attacked them in the woods are called Druskelle. They are specialized soldiers in the Fjerdan army. They are trained to hunt, capture, and kill Grisha, because in their country Fjerda(to the north of Ravka) Grisha are seen a “witches” who deserve to die. Hope this helps. Great reaction! I look forward to the rest.

    The history between Kaz and Rollins is very important and for sure gives more context to their scene together, but I won't spoil it for you guys because to me it was one of the best reveals in the book .
    And yes Kaz is so smart just always assume he has multiple backup plans.

      Awesome thank you for that. Had a feeling. So they are pretty powerful too.

    • @dutchkel
      @dutchkel 3 года назад +3

      @@ReactionDragonz There is a hierarchy in how Kirigan has set up the 2nd army. Those heartrenders who have amplifiers (Ivan) tend to be his own personal guard (why they have black on their embroidery on their kefta), then the other Corporalki (mostly heartrenders), then the Summoners (and those that have amplifiers like Zoya are preferred) and the Fabrikators (like David who doesn't even know how to fight). They don't even teach the Fabrikators to fight. They are the lower class of the Grisha. He also keeps them kind of separated from one another in where they sleep and what tables they eat at so they are competitive with each other a bit.

    Great reaction! Just a point of clarification : Inej's tatoo is not a sign of religion but of being the "property" of the Menagerie, the brothel we see her go at the beginning of the episode. She is still owned by Heileen (the blond) but Kaz is slowly paying her bill

    Not really a spoiler but something that's good to know about the power system so it won't get confusing later.
    Grisha are those who practice "small science". Fancy word for specialized powers. There are three main kinds and specializations under.
    1. Corporalki - they deal with the human body. All those who practice this have some similar skillset, until they decide to specialize with:
    * Healers - They fix the body.
    * Heartrender - They destroy the body (make your heart stop or give you a heart attack, boil blood, etc)
    * Tailor - They alter the body's appearance (for themselves and other people).
    2. Etherealki - they manipulate elements and stuff. Like bender from avatar:
    * Squaller - air
    * Inferni - fire
    * Tidemaker - water
    ** Shadow and Sun are added as well.
    3. Materialki - also known as Fabrikators. They deal with earthly matter, metals, stones. They manipulate it to invent things that wouldn't be possible otherwise. There isn't much difference between the two specializations tho.
    * Durast - organic matter like metals and rocks
    * Alkemi - chemicals

    I think you know that the story of the Crows (Kaz, Inej and Jesper) are from other books that take place two years after the Shadow and Bone trilogy. So in the series they still haven't lived the things in the book, so Kaz in the series lost to Pekka's henchmen. In the books he does very surprising things, especially in Crooked Kingdom. Those who read know what scene I'm talking about. It's cool because it shows their evolution with their skills, showing that they were not always the "badass" that is presented to us in books. Anyway, I really liked your reaction and as you really watch and pay attention to the details, this is really cool. You won one more subscriber on the channel. I hope you are enjoying the series.

    No spoilers, just a quick explanation of the locations and ideologies:
    The main locations are Ravka (Divided in 2 because of the fold and in war because of it), Fjerda (north of Ravka), Shu Han (south of Ravka) and Kerch, where there's the city of Ketterdam (where the crows are from). The Fjerdans believe Grishas are evil witches, the Shu Han experiment on Grishas and in Ketterdam Grishas are usually bought as slaves. East Ravka is basically the only safe place for Grisha.

    General Kirigan is usually called "The Darkling" in the book, because of his power. Also, the setup is that General Kirigan or The Darkling, is the only person who is allowed to wear Black. He was knows as the most powerful Grisha.

      I thought the same thing. Kaz was way too soft in Season 1 but also it's always tough to portray book characters when the show doesn't give you any insight into what they're actually feeling/thinking.

    You asked who benefitted from leaving the Fold there in your breakdown and it's pretty much all of Ravka's enemies. The Fold was created by the Black Heretic but since then it's really just been really devastating to the economy and forced the country to be constantly at war because they've been weakened from having no easy access to a port. The government is all in the East but having the West and the coast so dangerous to access means they're kind of encircled by enemies. So like, if anyone's interested in the Fold staying up, it would be Fjerda and the Shu Han.

    One more comment. My English is kind of bad and in the series didn't make it very clear, so speaking in a direct and even insensitive way, Inej was kidnapped as a child and forced to have sex with whoever paid for it. In the books there is a more detailed explanation and more complex things and such, but that's basically her story, until she was "bought" by Kaz. All the stories of the Crows are very interesting and profound, it is impossible not to sympathize with them. That's why they are everyone's favorite. And Inej is my favorite character in the entire Grisha universe followed by Kaz and Jesper. I love them. And taking the opportunity to say that yes Kaz is very smart, you would be surprised 😅

    I don't like how they added the prejudice crap in this. It wasn't in the book when Mal and Alina were young. Netflix enjoy influencing division and victim mentality.
    Also, in the book, Mal was more of the "outgoing", popular, and strong one. Alina, was weak, and skinny (for a reason)internally kind of insecure, especially about not being that physically "attractive" and had bad insomnia and couldn't eat much for quite a while.
    This Mal's personality may be a little bit better in some ways though.
