Crazy how good the front bumper looks with just a few changes
Except it looks like a compact Camaro ZL1 front bumper.
@@EVsSuck777 No it does not, you just wanna complain
@@user-yr7no9wu9j Complain? 🤔 I’m just giving an opinion… the original design looks 100x better. Also, yes that custom front bumper looks like a Camaro zl1 front bumper, TO ME.
The rear bumper looks like tony soprano’s signature smile
@@EVsSuck777 Oh your talking about his redesign
That simple tweak with the side intake shape on the front bumper is ingenious!!!
Right, it was like one drag of the mouse and instantly it started to look better.
Thought the same thing
Ya it is too blocky and protrudes too much
it kinda reminds me of the newer F31 generation 3 series but massively beefed up
Frr Instantly so beautiful, why couldn’t they make it like that 😩
Looks great. Nice work.
One suggestion for your videos . . . maybe at the end include some side-by-sides of the Before and After.
Came here to say the same thing. Definitely need some final side-by-sides to really appreciate the work.
I literally completely agree with everything you said. They're very close with this one! Your redesign fixes the issues I have with the styling, spot on if you ask me!
The car is largely inspired by the E30 M3 as seen from the Boxed flared fenders, and squared grill!
That thing is just a box. Nothing else 😂😂
My poop was inspired by the hamburger i just ate, but still looks like poop.
Fender flares good... Literally everything else BAD.
When you're stuck with the line tool in MS Paint to design a car.
Swing and a miss if they were trying for the E30 😆
Just need some aftermarket bumpers to be made like your sketches and the M2 would be great!
I'm starting to like the design. BMW is doing always something different and they have the balls to do it. Unlike other companies.
For better or worse
I just wish they changed the headlights to angel eyes/halos. It would instantly look so much better.
Hitler had balls as well... 😀
For real… look at Audi and Mercedes. Audi and Mercedes range all look the same, have have done for some time. So, so boring; made worse by the fact that engines are getting less interesting. Using Audi and Mercedes just because they are BMWs rivals, plenty of other companies also are the same..
I like how automotive designs are goin backwards. It was all about ovals, circles and curves, now it’s L shapes, squares and flat straight lines, 80’s style is coming back.. also because it’s the best way to direct air.
Yeah the new cadillac celestiq looks right out of 2077, which has 80s inspired car design
The line of paint instead of just pure black in the center of the front splitter makes a world of difference.
I honestly think the LCI of all these new M models is going to look awesome. They still have it in them, and imo I can see it in the M4 CSL.
Not beautiful like the F87 M2 but its super aggressive which I can live with! Will take some wild modifications really well.
Yeah it doesn't have the type of beauty as the m3's they're more sporty like a supercar esc design but the m2 looks aggressive and 1990s boxy body style
As soon as I saw the new M2... I knew you were going to make an incredible re design! Been waiting for your video, so glad you uploaded!
Ad ends 3:54
🙏
I’ll keep the front original, but how you re-designed the rear is awesome, looks so much better
i actually really like it. i currently own a 2016 M2 and i think it does the original justice. it looks like the originals big brother. love your work mate 👍
Seeing the M2 for the first time was a bit of shock, but, like you, it did warm up to me pretty quickly.
I don't agree with you that BMW has a continuity problem, I love that they have a library of vehicles looking completely different. It is done so on purpose, I remember them announcing that they were going to do it a couple year ago.
For me, it means that you don't have the same design in different sizes that will age quicker because it's over used. Instead, you have designs so diverse, that you almost see a new BMW every time you see one. Btw, each of these cars are instantly recognizable as a BMW - regardless of the 'newness'. Love that.
Anyways, glad you're more positive of what BMW is doing lately. Keep it up!
I genuinely like the design of the car to be honest, I can't really say your redesign improves it, maybe that's just me
I Agree
idk if they can beat the first gen m2’s design. such a beautiful design and it’s especially great in person seeing it on the track
Everyone is overreacting, this design is pretty solid as is and I think it will age pretty well. I am not loving the boxy part on the front either, but it isn’t terrible and the fact that it’s the worst part of the design really says something. Love the grill love the rear haunches, the trunk lid, and the tail lights.
I like just how it is the rear end is the real highlight of the m2. Looks amazing. I love how they made the m2 its own unique car
Needed this
I loved the use of 2000s front bumper it really give better look than modern ones
not sure what everyone is complaining about, this looks like an r34 + e30 and I love it
LOVE how you did the front end!! Those rear lights and that diffuser need a lot of help; I don't think even you can help them out - but it's a start. I'd love to see a third party modder make this version of the front bumper!
That rear view looks so much better 😍 the front could be better but with this small changes it looks also better
You're a good designer. I would like to see your own design from scratch of an suv, 4 door sports car or a luxury sedan.
Love the redesign. Personally, I think they need to release a front bumper color matched lip that follows the same line as the side-skirts to help ground the car better and frame out the lower front grills. That and removing the top of the rear diffuser from interrupting the rear bumper like you did in your redesign and I think we're in business.
Love your design so much more 🔥🔥🔥. They really could’ve allowed more curvature in the design language of the M2. It’s a shame cause the powertrain seems perfect
A modern BMW needs double headlight signature per headlight unit. Now it looks like a generic Opel/Vauxhall headlight to me.
I think they should go even more boxy / squared with their design in the future. Apart from that I like your re design just as much as the original.
I was just thinking that. It would be dope if BMW went 80s retro future design
The more i look it the more i like it!very unique design!
Going to see it in person on Saturday, but I am on the list for one (#2 at my dealer) so we will see if I am compelled to sell my Tacyan for one - I want manual again!
They NEED to see this ! Really
It looks like it was inspired by some old 80's DTM style cars. Not amazing, but better than the M4/M3
Ha! Commented before you mentioned the DTM, should have known you'd pick up on that 😄
I’m glad they brought the box flares back
THIS REDESIGN IS AMAZING
Which car companies have you designed for? If none, why? You’re really good at this.
It's not that hard to design a pretty car. But it takes a whole new degree of talent to design something so bold with so much character that redefines what beauty is. That's what BMW designers are capable of. And that's why you always hear people say "the new grill grew on me". They MAKE YOU like something you couldn't accept at first.
@@rdab700 Exactly. No disrespect to the sketch monkey but truth is while he may not find new BMW designs stereotypically pretty that's exactly why he doesn't work or them. I imagined what he would do to the car before he opened Photoshop. Had I been BMW I wouldn't have seen this as a good thing. It is not anything new is what I'm saying, the car is perfect as is, no need for "fixes".
Taillights and headlights needs more than one led stripe, two or three lines can make a really big difference in look, one simple line make them looks very simplistic
The bulged rectangular fenders are clearly a throwback to the M3 E30, strange that you didn't mark that.
So far this bimmer is my favorite and the best bimmer
Yes!! Was waiting on this one
Unlike most people, I actually like the overall design. However, the separated grille is quite weird. I'd love to see a new grille where the kidneys aren't so spread apart. Reminds me of diastema (separated front teeth). Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
Hopefully BMW fixes this in the upcoming Competition model (they also updated the grille on the previous M2 Comp).
i usually like boxy Design, but here it just doesn't sit well together in my opinion. the head lights dont seem to belong to the rest of the boxy front. It could all flow a bit better, because right now its just like "here a box, there a box, another one here" which makes it look stacked. Your redesign fixes the stacked boxes effect in the front, really like it, and also corrects the line flow of the kidneys to the head lights, looks so much better than the original. also liked the changes you did to the rear, especially the diffusor "box". Really enjoyed your video. thx
Some design technique resemblances to the Clio V6 Phase 2.
I actually didn't mind the rear. They should've shrunk the bottom area a bit. It was too big, out of proportion.
I quite like the design of this car. Its definitely not perfect but it definitely is not ugly
Love the look of the new M2.
The square angular design, especially around the kidneys, gives me late-00s Dodge Vibes
Remember when car designs looked organic with flowing shapes and curves. Every car designers right now, line tool, edges, corners, SQUARES, RECTANGLES, TRIANGLES.
I love it the Square design
I like this new BMW design
I like this new M2, mostly because of long bonnet and cab moved backwards.
Never knew that with just a little bit of tweaking in PS, the car looks soo much better
80s vibes for sure. great coverage.
Was eagerly waiting for you to make a video as soon as this car was released, Thanks!
3:53. I see MOPAR.A mass up of a Magnum on top, a hacked up Challenger in the middle and a Dart 2 on the bottom. 4:12. Top side Profile is a cross between a Skyline and a 370. What he ended up with is the cross between a Rear-Wheel-Drive Pontiac and a Porsche 944. The outcome looks good, but that is what I see. Everyone uses the same designing tools today so you will see similarities to other cars.
Front end looks like a Japanese car after the redesign(The rear end redesign looks good). I also like that BMW is not making every model identical like the other Germans.
Spot-on changes! I would also remove this socket where the front logo is placed.
The grille need to be rounder with vertical slats instead of horizontal, the headlights need to be slimmer and longer, with the dual cup, or dual underline drls, like in the older bmws like the m3 or others from this era, this. and the improvements done in this video would make the perfect front end
And yeah, new tail lights as well
wow you make it even better!
Please do a video on the Infiniti G35 Coupe! I think it’s an extremely underrated car in terms of its simple, beautiful design. I own a 2005 model with the Sport Package and I would love your take on the G35!
Luckily i got my f87, it looks 10 Times better in every angle. But the New interieur is very good!
When I first saw it in the commercial I liked it. Looks Nissan Z-ish but a BMW.
I was looking forward to this one, thank you
BUY IT!
It looks great. The kidney grills though, I would die to be a lip on the edges..painted in black of course
If I dont watch the front lights and the cube shapes in the front and the rear it looks good for me.( head light has to be tipic Bmw angel eye light)
Bulky and mean, I like it. The rear end needs some tweaking (like G20 taillights) and the interior is a bit meh, but the front is spot on.
I really like what you did with the rear lights!
I JUST NEEDED THOSE TAILIGHTS
Hey, could you do a redesign of the alfa romeo 159 to bring it into 2022
I don’t hate it. I’m not sure how I feel about the lights not having 2 “angel eyes” though
The side intakes kinda look like the ones on Blurr‘s head from Transformers G1. I actually like them.
Can you do a redesign off the Mitsubishi 3000gt
First gen M2 will forever remain greatest looking M car. Its not my opinion, its pure FACT.
am i wrong if i say just a different rear spoiler like a G8X Flow Through would uplift this cars design to another level? it would visually widen the for bmw unusual curve at the rear.
So subjective… I feel you’ve improved the front end drama with subtle tweaks but I think BMW have made a sweet rear end as is but nice job you have improved the design all in 👍
I feel like there’s a few details that remind me of the Nissan GT-R. Like the fender flares and the transition from the hood to the front bumper between the headlight and grille. Sort of an un-sophisticated functional design.
I think it look 1000% better then the regular 2 series, as for the design I think the designers got there inspiration from the E30 M3 with its big box flares and more geometric design, it seems tried to make a modernized version of an E30 M3
i will admit it's a somewhat boxy design.not to say it's a bad thing but i can understand how it might detract from any dynamism of the design.
Bembli,I wonder what your thoughts on a youtuber car renderer/artist "Hycade"
he/she made a body kit concept of the first gen NSX and IMO KILLED IT
The car looks much better in real life, i dare to say even better and meaner than the f87 in my opinion
At first glance, the front end looks like a 90s Dodge Ram truck.
the M2 gives mecha vibes imo and I like it. not that I'll ever be able to buy it anytime soon tho
Nice job! I like it!
The design team have a much harder time than him though, all the due dates, the responsibility, production issues, it us way easier to create a new design based on the already existing car, without any consequence. Maybe they can face lift their car in a few years, but I also bet there will be custom parts for this car as well.
What you did with the front and rear improved it but, I think if you went further, you could have come up with something truly inspiring. I still feel the Kidneys need better integration and at the rear, the massive boxy indentations where the reflectors sit are way too large and destroy the flow between the rear quarter panel and the bumper.
As someone said on Shmee150s video
Thank you to BMW for keeping the aftermarket parts companies in business 😂😂😂
Can you do a redesign where the headlights touch the kidneys? Like in the M5?
I do like the Sim Card grille.
aerodynamics goes into the shapes its throwing off aswell to make it more grounded it had to be built like this
the new m2 is not bad looking at all
The front looks awesome with the few changes.
It’s almost like those headlights are trying to be like the sexy m6 lights
i think that spoiler kinda raise at the rear shud be removed
I love all of exterior but I hope steering wheel be changed.
I like the new M2 design, and it has grown on me a lot since I first saw it when I had an initial negative reaction to it. That said I think your redesign does look better. But I think the only changes I would personally make is to add a body color part at the bottom of the front grill to give the car a base, make the square intakes a little bit smaller, outline the kidney grill in chrome (maybe outline the black roof too? Maybe as an option) and change the taillight graphics. But I also am not a designer and know very little about it so I could be way off!
Also, that new blue color being offered is absolutely gorgeous. Would for sure be my color choice if I were to get one.
At Last !!! A modern BMW that doesn't look like a clown shoe, a toaster, or hammered dog-shit.
The only changes would be a more blended design with a little less notch in the back.
I think the front end is mostly inspired by e9x m3
I see Datsun 200SX or some other older Japanese car designs in this for some reason
my biggest concern are the tailligths
