He actually tried not to kill you in one shot by using 6th level Evocation spells. If he used 9th level spells the party would've been killed with a spell. That's how OP really Elminister is.
To put this into perspective: This Elminster is a Construct, which means that he is a Simulacrum, a clone that has only HALF as much health as the original.
The health isn’t the issue. He’s not even using 9th level spells or using any summons or anything. And his equipment is trash. Real Elminster would immediately summon any several of golems, demigods, high elementals, dragons, or etc. he would prob have at least two invisible bodyguards around him at all times. Etc, etc.
@@zephyrprime Not to mention his unique Contingency Spell. Still, since its a Simulacrum some things are excusable. And anything over 6th Level Spells doesnt really exist in the game anyways. I agree though, that some actual spell variance and Wizard Tactics (tm) would be nice.
@@vincentsalcido9605It's in reality a modified version of the contingency spell, called "Elminster's Evasion". He designed It to be much more powerful than the ordinary Contingency. Very few can pose a threat to him.
There is no need to fight him, just use illusion magic and take him to an area where the shadow curse will take away all his life, when Elminster has a little life left just finish him off and you will get 1500xp
why did he just spam sun beam? that move kinda sucks, if he had just cast cloud of daggers at 6th level or chain lightning/disintigrate you woulda been fucked prolly.
It's an AI that directs NPC's during a fight for the most part, so I assume it thought Sunbeam would be the beast option to hit the most amount of characters whilst also not hitting itself.
That's not the real Elminster, its a simulacrum, and normally he hardly ever uses spells that do physical harm in a fight, if he has to kill you, he will use spells that direct your attacks back at yourself.
That old Bozo didn't even drop any loot? At least the 1000 Xp alone is worth it to do this fight every run. Thanks for posting this 🙏🏼 Until now I just assumed that if you attacked him he would cast wish and kill your party since he is Level 20.
Is sunbeam not nearly as detrimental to your parties overall health as any other spell elminister may cast? You group up literally every turn to perfectly give him the opportunity to hit everyone.
Kskskskksksks nice content bro, don't care to what people are saying about your way to navigate. Yesterday i throwed a speed potion on the ground to fight cazador only to get my whole team lethargic 😂 honor mode btw (didn't knew the effects were different when throwing)

@@Cyberlucy Gale left my party in Act 1, so I ran into Elminster at random spots afterwards. The first spot was at Grymforge on the way to Act 2 and the second spot is where you see him in my video.
When I saw that he gathered his party members closely, I misunderstood that he was trying to kill them in more difficult conditions....even though he knows that elminster attacked their party member using straight light beam for several times...
Yep. If you go through the Crech to reach Moonrise, Elminsters comes to your camp while you're in the mountains to give Gale control of the orb inside his chest's detonation. If you pass through the Underdark, then he'll appear near the path to reach Act 2.
You’re so disorganized with your action bars man. This fight would have ended in less than 5 mins, if you weren’t searching for spells each turn. Good job killing it at least.
You tried really hard to help Elminster kill your party by putting all your characters together in a line. But he still failed and let you kill him. Probably out of pity. Or maybe because it was a simulacrum who doesn't really want to live. So he was barely trying to win, he just wanted to keep you engaged in the fight so you can end his meaningless existence. Maybe he worried that if he won't fight back at all then you may think that something is wrong and stop the fight.
Elminster has spells that go off based on contingencies such as being attacked, which might include dimension door to safety. Or several defensive spell wards like magic circle of invulnerability.
