People who dislike this band because it's cool to dislike them are either void artistically, or too young to know better. Creed at their best is amazing people.
I believe Creed is commonly characterized as "post grunge." And your right Creed and Metallica are 2 different bands but after selling an estimated 35 million albums world wide their place in history is solidified as one of the top selling rock bands of all time.
The riff in this reminds me of Alter Bridge's White Knuckles song. I actually knew about Alter Bridge before I knew of Creed lol, sounds unbelievable but here in the UK Creed weren't very big but I found out about AB in Jan 2007 and i've loved them ever since.
This music video is very old. Not to mention the 3d modeling skill in this video was somewhat rare when the video was made (so its a lil choppy compared to modern 3d animation) Also this video is a reference to the book of revelations, which im amazed no one on the internet seems to know. So my take on this video is high. I think its a work of art considering its completely original and very well done for its time.

I really like this song... I remember when this video came out I was disappointed in it though and slightly embarrassed for the band. This song deserves so much of a better video than it got. It just doesn't capture what the song resonated within me when I used to listen to it... the song is the definition of epic in these times we live in, but that is lost in the cartooniness of the video.

Creed is a grunge band that showed up to the table very late in their genre's timeline. Nirvana and AiC would be the "Metallicas" of grunge. In fact, Creed was so late they're usually lumped in with the recent resurgance (Seether, Three Days Grace, etc.).
