Awesome video! This should be made available for North American car buyers. We already have gasoline/electric hybrid powered cars, so why not a diesel/electric powered car?
i cant never get a clear answer. For example if you have 50km electric drive. After that car starts to use diesel? Does it charge the battery while you driving with the Diesel engine? If do how many liters you spend to charge it fully? Or you always charge it by electric power supply?
It can charge the battery but only a little bit (similar to recuperation during braking). You should not charge the battery using combustion engine - it is not efficient.
