- A bit of light-hearted fun with the JD-800 model expansion that was recently added to the host of those available in the Jupiter-X.
Hopefully I'll be in Top of the Pops any day now.

Anyone nailed the dance routine yet?
5:11 Bottom left stuffed it up. What a loser.
Big fish little fish cardboard box!!!
I managed the "Y" and "A" without too much trouble, but the fierce technical section between them was impossible to follow.
Hello. Can you make a sound design tutorial on how to recreate these stabs from scratch ? They're so 90s, and I don't own that kind of hardware.
The best part of terrible 90's dance music is that it's secretly not terrible
It cruises the knife edge of terrible and great.
@@AlexBallMusic The trick to 90’s dance music was pretending that the glam model in the music video sang the song while it was actually someone older and kick ass. Screw ageist 90s record execs.
Well, some of it isn't terrible at all but let's not pretend that all of it is reasonable ;)
@@AlexBallMusic WTF? NO. It's just on the terrible side. Your song is disgusting despite the skill involved tho :D
Our secret to share 🥰 hats off once again Alex, love it. Thanks!
This is not complete without the 8-bars-rap-verse-from-a-rapper-nobody-knows
MC Bang-Bang.
Who?
Perfect.
Over an ABBA cover, perhaps?
BOM DIGI DIGI DIGI BOM DIGI BOM :DDD
…and Marky Mark it is! 🤣
@@AlexBallMusic Danny Boy D
All we need now is a 23 minute extended club mix, a radio version, a dub version, an acapella & bonus beats squeezed onto a 12” vinyl single.
Don't forget bass boosted and a crossover with scooter
yeaaaaah
This guy is what RUclips was intended for.lol. funny, creative, and all around awesome at everything. Lol. Gotta love it. Outstanding job as always sir. Have a good day.
It's 1993 and this song comes on Z100 in Portland Oregon. Oh yeah, the good old days!
For some reason, this is an enduring favourite.
😀
This absolutely would've been on Top of the Pops. Fantastic.
You should put out a None Hit Wonders album with all the music one’s pretty sure one heard sometime somewhere.
Haha, nice idea!
You’ve summed up the 1990-1991 dance club/bar scene perfectly. 👍🏻
Excellent. Mine's a cider and black.
@@AlexBallMusic In those days I was sipping on Yuengling Porters in Philadelphia. Yuengling is said to be America's oldest brewery. :-)
@Rhizosphere I’m talking about the average college bars back then.
If I've said it once, well... I've said it at least once. You not only entertain me with your musical talent and creativity but you crack me up at the same time. Thanks again for another great video.
Hitting the word "Luvaaa" as your glasses were at peak ❤ was absolutely brilliant. The lyrics were spot on 90's. Sistas and Bruthas...revolution...luva...it's all there! The nuances of your performances and comedic elements and timing are second to none.
We all wanted a love revolution!
was just thinking the same thing...the "lightbulb" moment in the beginning was perfect, super funny, and the rest of the vid, the track was spot on, nailed it 💯
Ken Ishii - Jellytones is the JD-800 sound of the '90s for me. The presets are all over that album.
Thanks for the tip!
Great Album. Thanks for the hint! 🎉
Dude this is awesome. Makes me want this synth even more. Nicely done. The heart glasses cracked me up. Nailed the 90’s. I was in my 20’s and can’t remember much of them except my wedding in 1995.
Reminding me of early to mid 90s hot summers hanging around at the inner london rope parks as a kid.... Thank you for that nostalgia trip :D
That was an absolutely horrendous experience.
Thanks for recreating the 90's sound so well!
I think we all need a little light hearted 90's music these days. Well done lol.
Cheers
That bottom right square bicep pump pose was legit.
💪
No 90's dance smash is complete without the phrase "sisters and brothers"! Luviiit!
It was an EU standard at the time.
the dance and wailing guitar definitely the highlight
As an eighties teen who merely endured nineties music, this is far better than the real thing.
In the 90's I wouldn't have been caught dead listening to music like this. But now I'm here for it!
They say that we lose our sense of taste as we age. 😉
That unpleasant vocal "Hummmm" at 4:14 is utterly perfect
I loved this. Brought such a smile to my face. Thanks so much for sharing Alex. This is my type of music. 2021 or not, I'm still 30 years in the past.
Thanks, glad to have raised a 90s smile. 😀
That bassline was very “A Guy Called Gerald”.
I wouldn't mind this being on Spotify....
It should be...
The best thing I’ve heard for ages…. I was giggling the entire time
Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it! Love it!
I lived in East Anglia back when this stuff was big. Brings back fond memories of my time in the UK from 89-91.
Those hazy days. I was too young then, but my old boss told me about how they used to phone a number and the message which service station to go to where they'd meet people who'd show them where the party was. Sometimes they'd wind up several hours away from home. Sounds like a right laugh.
An amazing reconstruction of one of my worst nightmares 😅💀
I'm having flashbacks of listening to Future Music demo CDs and trying to do something similar with OctaMED on my Commodore Amiga...
I remember that thing! Hazy days.
Yay for OctaMED! The FM demos were cheesy though.
at the first glance this tune is ticking all the boxes... the dance routine is actually pretty good 👏🏼 Still room for some MrVain rapping in there 😄
Mr Vain! Damn, I remember that!
Are you Audiopilz?
@@keyboardbw I can't read it without hearing his accent...
This is literally the type of music I always tried to recreate but failed because of skill issues (and lack of the instruments needed). That being said this is the best thing I ever heard, I just love on how terribly 90s this is.
Absolutely appalling. Well done indeed! 😂
Job done. ;)
This captures the "terrible in all the right ways" vibe. This song wins 2021. And 1994.
Excellent. :)
The only way to make this worse would be to use the M1 piano....
That lead line at the end seems far too complex for a 90s banger though.
Couldn't resist that crazy guitar patch.
@@AlexBallMusic spot on prodigy that guitar 🎸😂👌
That guitar patch was insane
@@AlexBallMusic It sounded verbatim that is the Korg Prophecy Patch Prodigy used.
EVERY single sound you're using sounds like it's from Dance Dance Revolution. I love it.
Everything about this makes me happy, which is a new feeling for me!
You really are my favorite! Such a fun watch & great catchy groove!!
Thanks Rik, much appreciated.
You know if you had of done that in the 90s, it probably would have got into the charts...!!!
Hopefully I'll get a call from TOTP any day now. Might even knock Whigfield from the top spot.
@@AlexBallMusic spot on lol
@@AlexBallMusic Remember, if you get invited, it's essential to have your synth UNplugged on stage ! :-)
@@2112jonr Or they give you the Mk1 DX7 from the store cupboard!
Many a Vauxhall Astra used to charge around the Gloucester one way system with crap like this pumping the subwoofers and dimming the headlights on every beat. Great entertainment!
I hope you had three-spoke alloy wheels?
@@AlexBallMusic oh yes, gold ones!
LOVE IT!!!! 90's ftw
Wooooah, Mr. Plonka coming in with something I had no idea I needed to hear. Sing for us more, you crazy son of a sea cook!
Plonka comin' at ya!
Smiling all the way through this video.
Just brilliant.
Bravo, well done, you have captured the 90s brilliantly, it takes me back to the 90s. When is your Cassette coming out, i would happily buy it, i have listened to this track more than 10 times, in true 90s style, got my large home stereo speakers and put them in the boot of my car. Keep up the good work👍
why are the vocals so good wtf
I would have happily danced to this in archaos, in glasgow, in the 90s. no sarcasm, it is time fitting.
Excellent. I'll send them a white label.
Love this. Always an inspiration. Thanks Alex 👍
Love it
Brilliant. This was both simultaneously educational and hilarious. Great job
That's what I was going for. Good to know. :)
That laugh at the end was the cherry on top.
Had to be done. :)
never thought I'd stick around for 5:57....glad I did. Nice work!
Nice work! I love it! HAHAH Vocals on point! I think you should release it. Keep up the good work. And thanks for continuing to share incredible synths with the world! Best, Clayton
Superb, just superb, you're a genius. Reminds me of clubbing in TOTS in Southend in 90's. Happy days 🤩
OMG me too. Or Hollywoods - Romford
Your ability to capture the vibe is undeniable and awe-inspiring, Alex - but this is my personal musical hell!!
🤣
That was awesome Alex and you sing pretty darn good!
Wow, this is actually cool. Well done Alex :)
Thanks Paul.
You had my foot tapping and neck jiving lol!
Brilliant as usual Mr Ball. Loved the sweary at the tapping foot!
Alex you are a man with many talents this was superb thank you.
A talent for non-talent. :)
That made me very happy in a very sad nostalgic way. Simpler times...
Or we were just younger and had less responsibility?
@@AlexBallMusic No need to get all rational about it. Let me have my (seriously unreliable) memories!
Excellent 👌 funny and original
Good work, thank you 😊
I used a borrowed JD800 back in the 1990s with a couple of friends of mine, to make a cynically exploitative "rave" song based on Gerry Anderson's "Stingray". Didn't get anywhere with the record, but it was a lot of fun. I seem to remember we were running Cubase on an Atari, using an Akai S900, and three DA88s for tracking. There was a certain "flavour" to those times, that now eludes me when I try to recall it. Things have moved on a lot!
Awesome. I was having kind of a rough day but that turned things right around.
BANGER ALERT BANGER ALERT
Solid house track right there, I love it.
I love the chorus. Your voice is really good throughout. Kudos!!!
Brings joy to my heart, such a great 5 mins
Thanks!
I've just realised why I spent the 90's in the pub. Thanks!
🤣
Really great , I love it!!!
That has been so much fun to watch, brilliant
Cheers :)
That was awesome, once again! Thanks Alex.
Cheers
Classic. Inspired. Thank you
You had me at the orchestral stabs.
Also, that wailing guitar gave me *feelings*.
Since you've done cheesy 90s dance, part of me wants to see you go back another decade and try Italo Disco. Bring out your inner Fancy, Bobby O or SAW.
Glad to have "stabbed" you. ;)
I did do some Italo disco in the Crumar Multiman-S video, but I could do more. :)
@@AlexBallMusic Ahh so you did; forgot about that. Very Giorgio Moroder.
Also don't stab me. That's very rude.
I LOVE Italo disco!
LOL sounds just like Baby Ford! Wonderful! I love nostalgia!
Weirdly never heard of Baby Ford. I guess I must have nailed the clichés then. :)
This was deee-groovy and deee-gorgeous.
You just needed that wide-angle extreme overhead head shot that was such a thing back then.
PLONKA IN DA HOUSE! must look into some hats and shades myself...
Available from your local 90s store.
but seriously ...thanks for what you do tubewise as it were.
You have been given the gift for being able to make this plain awesome!
Cheers
geee...those flashbacks i got from this video!!! :) Well done!
Nailed. Thanks for brightening up an otherwise rainy day.
this is dope!!!! So inspirational!!! I just bought this Roland Synth too!
This was an awesome watch :) The piano riff has a distinct 'Jinny - Keep Warm' vibe about it.
All that four-to-the-floor dance stuff that became popular in the 90s that owes everything it was to classic disco, even though it considered sacrilegious to compare it to disco. That’s what I liked about it when it started emerging, that it was simply disco made with models like the 800 instead of with first-generation analog synthesizers/sequencers.
I was there and I never ever want to go back! It’s like visiting France.
Really cheered me up thanks 🔊✌🏻
Brilliant! Took me right back
In a good or bad way?;)
Man I just love your videos. So much fun but inspirational too. :-D
Alex you are great go on do a next crazy thing!
This is the most 1991 thing I've heard all year. Love it. You should duet with Martha Wash.
Good stuff Alex! Always enjoyable!
Damn. Now I need more gear. Thanks. 😂
Oh, and Imma need those glasses as well. 😁
I...want an entire album of this
Haha. If you pop back to 1991 you'll find it in your local music store.
Thank you for making me a teenager again!
Awesome Alex thanks 🙏🏾
Loved this. Nailed it !
Well that's just great.
I went to the bathroom after watching this video, looked in the mirror and suddenly I had a blonde, frosted tips haircut, red barely-block-out-the-sun sunglasses and a Game Boy Color in my hand loaded with Pokémon Yellow. Damnit Alex.
😂
I definitely had frosted tips in the 90s. Classic.
this is so 90s i feel an urge to sing gibberish about summer, being sooo weeeeal and freedoaaaam of loahaouhooove~
Bravo Alex. You nailed it
Outstanding !
Dude, hit it out of the ball park. Great tune!
