I miss 2k football, funny how when the last 2k football game came out, ea signed that exclusive deal with the nfl cause that 2k football was a lot better than madden that year and ea knew it.
Right after Axis Football 2023 came out, Danny Jugan announced that one of the new features coming to Axis Football 2024 next year is instant replays. Your wish has already been granted. Lolz

@@NelsonBulluckGaming I doubt commentary will change in next year's game, but I will be pushing them over on discord to update color commentary as well as add a pregame and postgame show of some kind to increase that presentation value.
One thing I can also tell you is that Danny Jugan also said that next year's game will have a play/playbook editor, and they are going to overhaul the blocking animations & physics.
2024?!? They need to patch that now and pre- snap strafing on D...There was an update this week don't know what they fixed but running seems easier.
glad i found this comment, i might get it now, jus found about it today, becuase its on sale for $15. the last game i rented from them seemed like a copy from the original and had no trophies..
Presnap straf and position adjustments on def, Switch version, still dont work. Button input is also sluggish. The game just isnt snappy. The team editor also sucks. If I change my Chicago team to be the Bears, I shouldnt see the game default name in the field art or on the uniform. I also tried to customize uniforms to be specific colors but then I couldnt remove the dumb logo from the helmet. Also, the fonts in the stat screens are too small. Overall this game is just not ready for Switch. Hopefully they’ll fox all this but I wouldnt be surprised to not see these fixes until the 2024 version. They are milking the crap outta this game. Would be nice if they would just UPDATE the game for the next few years instead of charging more $ for another unfinished version.
Got the last game on sale for 1$ probably would've spent 5 on it, these guys are definitely getting better and this looks bigger than a small unity project.

its crazy to see the beginning all over again. Axis is at the Madden/Ncaa 06/07 stage. as they get bigger and better, they will face a choice to continue the good spirited mission theyre on, or go the route of ea and make soulless copies each year and ignore the fanbase.

They at least do a better job with WWE 2K and NBA 2K than EA does with their sports games. And who's to say they can't hire devs from other companies to work on the game? Lol I swear some of y'all just live in a bubble.
My only gripe with the game is that there’s no way to load prior teams you made in a previous game to the next one, but otherwise it’s a terrific jump forward from what it had been, catching on the run, momentum based tackling actually allows for runs through gaps (for the most part) and it’s all around the best game in the series. Again hopefully they’ll allow for bringing previously made teams again.
Yeah...that's gotta be annoying for people who were REALLY invested in the previous titles. Hopefully they'll make it so you can bring those previously made teams back in 2024. Super Mega Baseball did it, so it's definitely possible.
@@NelsonBulluckGaming that’s what I’m hoping for, I took 32 spring football teams and put them into one league, had some do “natural” relocations, XFL, USFL, AAF, and TSL. Put in the actual players on offense and defense, did deep stat creating based on 40 times, strength feats, high jump, etc. made logos as accurate as I could. It really sucks having to do it all over again :/

I've been playing Madden since 1996 and even played Tecmo Bowl as a kid too.

@@NelsonBulluckGaming now Max looks like it's taken a huge leap forward. The lighting, camera, player models look way better than Axis, and the gameplay looks a bit better too. Maximum is where I expected Axis to be right now.
Also, I could forgive the very 1990s looking gameplay if they programmed really great presentation, crowd noise, ambience, progressive lighting, etc. I know programming football logic is hard but things like this shouldnt be that hard, yet nobody wants to do it, even in AAA games like The Show. The Show has had the same shit crowd noise for 10 years

Certainly seems promising, but its been a good while since I bought football game when it was still new (like just released). My last new football game was NCAA Football 14. Still not sure if I'd get it, but all the info you covered certainly helps.

I only bought it because I have a Nintendo switch lite and Madden isn't on the switch so it's our best option

Just spent money on this game, I was a little bit bummed at first however after the second game I fell much more in love with it I have no regrets hope to see this game keep growing
Yeah. It's definitely not Madden but I feel like it's a good alternative for people who don't wanna spend $70 on a game that isn't as good as it probably should be.

@@NelsonBulluckGaming madden 07-just the depth of it, (Better commentary), it’s not animation driven like 23 is. You can relocate every team and create your own league and that’s what makes it fun. Unlike madden 23.
I'm thinking about getting a PS2 again just to play Madden 05 franchise mode and nascar thunder 2004 again. Nostalgia and the greatest of each genre
Note: We will find out when it will release on PS on October 7th as the game is still going through certification. At that point they will let us know of the release date for now the game is on XBox & PC

They just need to take a few notes from 2K and All Pro Football games, mostly gameplay and presentation. They’ll be fine. No license means you can find 3 ppl who genuinely love football to do the commentary. Record while watching real game footage so it at least sound genuine.more reaction animations from the players and sidelines, more animations in general never hurts. If they add console modding (already know the PC community is on it lol) , madden would be in serious trouble because they would no longer be needed aside from your Madden regulars which they’re not changing regardless.
Hear, HEAR! Haven’t been down with the NFL since the Kaepernick kerfuffle, and this game has satisfied my itch for American football.

Absolutely. We definitely are in need of ANY competition for Madden so if Axis and Maximum can provide that we have hope of getting great football games again.

It does. You can actually coach the games in both exhibition AND in franchise, or you can just spectate them as well.

Well they have a full franchise mode, and you can pretty much make your own league more or less if you put enough time into it.

i thought ea's monopoly on the NFL license ran out? i guess they renewed it.. boycotted madden back in 09', played madden 07 for a thousand hours or so.

My god… another year and we get instant replay. These guys are really milking this game. I just tried the Switch version. Stay clear. Its sluggish. Button input delays… fonts in stats screens are WAY too small. The team editor is too limiting. Ex; name changes are not reflected on field art or on uniforms. All this just kills the gameplay for me. I’ll just assume by the time Danny and co figure out how to fix all this, they’ll just release it in the next version, and charge us another $20. It’ll probably takem till 2025 given the rate they make their changes and releases.
I mean the game isn't going to be for everyone...we also gotta remember this is an indie game so they don't have the budget that games like Madden are going to have so holding them to that standard isn't realistic. You could always play Legend Bowl or some kind of retro game, or even just play Madden.

It's been 6-7 years... things I mentioned like button input lag mitigation, font usage are rudimentary, common standards/things they should have mastered at this point. I'll givem credit.. small indie game, progress has been made although it's been several years. It's time to sell this to another company who can do it right, sooner, quicker. Case in point; Maximum Football (indie, sold to non-indie and looks like its gonna get some much needed attention, like this game needs). Sorry for the rant but this game has run my wallet dry and still not worth playing on Switch. And at the "indie" development rate, it will be a few more years till we see the some notable improvements, just a guess.
@@supercommando440 Some of your criticisms are valid, but calling actual facts an "excuse" is crazy, and if you think you can do a better job, maybe you should get a degree in game design and create your own football game since it's that easy to master all of those things. An indie gaming company having it's struggles is way different from a AAA gaming company (EA for example) not being able to fix things. And if spending $20 on a game yearly is running your pocket dry, I think you got bigger issues to deal with than this game not being up to your standards. Respectfully of course.

Keep adjusting your D line while the comp is on offense, the play clock will expire and the comp offense will get a penalty. Over and over again

Horrible, players are gliding and skating upfield as if they are being pulled by magnets...same nonsense in axis every year, and that alone would make me delete the game off my system.And about the awful commentary, I've said from the beginning that the axis devs focused on the wrong things, fluff instead of improving the awful, awful gameplay.
One of their bad games, in a random comment section, one of them admitted that they didn't address the gameplay at all. No excuse for that, I don't care how little their budget is.

Somebody has to. It probably won't until the exclusive license ends though.
The gameplay is not anywhere near as fun as the EA games. There is A LOT of promis here. If they created an easier way to use this as a college game, I would pay 50 for this title. This feels like a really good project. Most Unity games feel like that for some reason.

I bought the game....created 36 custom teams. Spent hours on logos, playbooks, jerseys, etc. During dynasty mode the game crashed every 2 gameweeks or so. Didnt bother me too much since i could quickly restart the playstation. Then around week 12 it crashed, corrupted my files and wiped EVERYTHING I made. What a JOKE of a game. Forget the 20$, how about all the time I put into it. What a waste. I will think twice before supporting this trash in the future.

It's currently around 10 bucks on xbox, which is 9 bucks too much. At this point, they are simply exploiting the anti-madden sheep. I haven't bought a madden game in years, but axis has been putting out horrible(even by lowered indie standards) games for years.
Axis Football is terrible, plane and simple, you wasted your money.
I just wish there was online multiplayer
