    I'm a 38 yr old man at the time and I was nearly crying my eyes out with pride and passion, screaming at the t.v, go mo go mo while my baby slept upstairs, finally as a nation I felt all British people united, didn't matter what colour, race, religion, we kicked ass together, we were all behind mo (along with the competition, lol).
    Mo you made me very proud to be part of a multi cultural Britain.

      Poot Your opinion don't count in this go and find like minded people like you. Your what's wrong with this world right now. You will not get nowhere in life.

    • @bodsnvimto
      @bodsnvimto 6 лет назад +7

      Agreed with Tony. Good stuff by all but Poot. Personally I was shouting as much as Colin Jackson on behalf of Mo - rightfully now Sir Mo, a true Brit in all but the accident of where any of us are born. There's nothing wrong with Patriotism but it can easily develop into xenophobia and small-mindedness.

    • @bodsnvimto
      @bodsnvimto 6 лет назад +2

      Superbly put - apart from 'ass' when we less Yankified Brits say arse - but I admit that I too was screaming COME ON MO ad infinitum.
      This country thrives because of/not despite multi-culturalism.

    The commentary was outstanding, if you watch other tv networks coverage of the last couple of laps, none of them capture the moment as well as those two did.

    I was lucky enough to be in the stadium for this and 80,000 people were jumping up and down like Denise & Colin. Was great to see this clip when i got home still buzzing.
    These behind the scenes shots of olympic greats as excited as the rest of us has been a highlight of the olympics. Well done BBC for showing them.

    I'm a little surprised that rewatching this in 2024 I still get chills, still experience the hype, still get a little emotional and proud. 2012 was a wonderful Olympics for the UK, and a wonderful event for the British people. I have never seen such unity, such positivity, such widespread joy. I travelled down from Scotland to attend a couple events and it was magnificent. There had been concerns and some bad press that it was felt necessary to bring in the army to help with logistics and security, and all the soldiers I saw and spoke to in and around the park were in great spirits, their presence in no brought anything down. The volunteers were smiling everywhere. The weather was wonderful, there was peace and unity. We the public quickly grew to love Mo Farah. Really love him, and admired his story, and felt such tremendous pride and gratitude that he chose to be one of us, to fly flag and represent us. It was part of a very good, very just and very healthy form of patriotism you don't often see nowadays. A pride in the good you and your people could do, in effort and satisfaction at a job done well. A pride that came from admiration and appreciation of others, and appreciation for how this can lift the spirits and inspire and motivate. It was for me a glimpse of the United Kingdom at our very best, and a short-lived but wonderful example of what we can be in the UK, in the British Isles, in western Europe. And that is a very bittersweet memory for me now.

    Cram really learnt a lot from David Coleman when he became part of the BBC commentary team I think before Coleman retired , the Kelly Holmes commentary in the 800 m ,I remember screaming at the TV , and cram comments on the race was outstanding . still gives me goosebumps watching that race ,as Coleman did with Ann packer,

      Really? Because he was doing much for quite a while, teamed up with a coach who was notorious for doping his athletes, had a training partner who could only take silver behind him fail a drugs test and the couldn’t hear the doorbell when the drug testers did call round unexpectedly. But let the delusion continue why not.
