    Edward Green are the pinnacle of ready to wear footwear. The Chelsea on the 202 last is the best option. Personally, I would like to visit the Edward Green store and ensure that I got the correct fitting size before making a purchase.

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  5 лет назад

      Rev. James C Yes! And apparently they will do a trial / fitting shoe at no charge should you require a special width.

      Rev. James C I find the 82 to be a bit more elegant than the 202. For certain styles I prefer the 202 but for an otherwise conservative black toe oxford I believe the 82 makes good sense.

    I've always thought that the Edward Green Chelsea is, aesthetically, the most "perfect" cap-toe oxford ever designed. From the last shape to the pattern, it's like the Goldilocks of dress shoes.

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  5 лет назад +4

      It is a pretty close-to-perfect shoe, for sure!

    I’ve worn Allen Edmonds for many years. Recently, I’ve started wearing Carminas, which I love. With the Edward Greens costing 2-3X the Carminas, what is difference in construction that justifies the cost difference. I don’t see them as having superior design to Carmina, so I am assuming there must be a difference in construction. Thanks.

    Could you please be a little more critical of the reviewed product? Though all of your review videos are produced incredibly well and beyond usual RUclips standards, I always feel like that every shoe you review doesn’t have any flaws at all. I’d be interested to know where Allen Edmonds sacrifices quality when compared to something like C&J. Are there any noticeable shortfalls in any other shoes you review?
    Love the shoe shine Sunday series btw

      Friedrich Dod you see my Black Cap Toe Oxford Review?
      I don’t find it’s my place to be overtly critical. Everything we film about is stuff I can recommend at their relative price points. It’s all about budget, and you get what you pay for.
      This is why you’ll never see me review a pair of Ferragamo shoes... I cannot recommend them! But these j can!

      From what I have gathered C&J Handgrade doesn't fall far from EG now. It has been noticed that the latter's quality has decreased.
      If you can afford E.G, then go for Vass, G.G (peculiar shape though) or Foster&Son.

    Hi Kirby. Informative review.
    Have you reviewed any Crockett & Jones handgrade shoes? Something like the Lonsdale or Audley is about half the price of the EG Chelsea. I wanted to understand the differences in the shoe quality relative to the price difference. Would the EG Chelsea be significantly different to a C&J handgrade oxford given its double the price?
    Thanks.

    You should have a purchase link in description to the shoes on the website of the company you are reviewing (im guessing they aren't on amazon), gives you revenue and easier for viewers to purchase the items.
    I'm sure the companies would give you percentages for revenue you generate for them with a referral for them from your viewers.

You have almost 100k subs and decent views and my guess is wealthy viewers and the exact demographic of their customer base. They will most certainly pay for affiliates and likely quite substantially too, gives you risk free revenue as well.

    • @kirbyallison

      wavelandavenue1 Probably because there made properly. There should always be a little less than 1/4 inch gap between laces, even with oxfords, to allow the shoes to be tightened additionally, should it become necessary. If the facings of the laces touch, it is impossible to further tighten the shoes.
