Hi👋🏻 I just want to clarify a few things. First and foremost, these are my favorite Eurovision interval acts (with a few modifications). A lot of people wanted ‘Flashmob’ on the list, so I included it. ‘Swedish Smörgåsbord’ isn’t one of my personal top five, but we have some inside jokes on this channel that made it fun to include! (For example, Mike & Joe eat Swedish licorice in the video.) Otherwise, I was thinking of replacing it with ‘Mix & Switch Song’ from 2019. As for ‘Riverdance,’ I wasn’t aware that it existed. If I had known about it, I would definitely have included it! I also want to mention that I took the videos from the German RUclips channel because they had the most views and the best quality. I didn’t realize that this might cause any confusion. I hope these explanations give you a bit more clarity on everything.
Thanks for adding some context, but you did well anyway! Internet (and people in general) just can be unnecessarily unpleasant when expressing different opinions and critique, especially when it's sth they're really passionate about (ie ESC). I'm sure you know that but I just wanted to add a kind comment and also just thank you for suggesting another fun ESC week!

I'm amazed you didn't know Riverdance existed. I've encountered people not knowing it started as a Eurovision act, but never having heard of it is more surprising! I was sure it had to be in any list of top Eurovision interval acts. But if it's just your personal preference among the acts you know, that explains it.
I had never seen Eurovision, for some reason it never interested me, but I decided to watch it this week for you, and I didn't regret it, I really liked it! a list that makes someone who has never been a fan love it, shows how good it was.
You did'nt get any of the references in this video cause you have'nt watched enough of Eurovision 😂 Pretty much everything on stage has been a competeing song in Eurovision
Yes you have watched this guy. Måns Zelmerlöv. He won Eurovision with Heroes. But this video happens to be published by the German television. Thanks for reacting to this appreciated Eurovision masterpiece. 🙋♀️🎶. Most of the elements they talk about and show in this performance are from different countries previous entries in Eurovision. So the audience recognize everything. 👍
This was Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm Sweden. Måns and Petra were the hosts that year because it was held in Sweden. They're great hosts :D The hosts are usually from the country that holds the competition that year, and it's usually held in the country that won the previous year.

Amazing list! Tho I think u forgot the woman with a cauldron (or if it was a barrel I don’t remember…) And also, those Swedish dancers aren’t that random… I recognize every single one of them (tho I have an interest in Swedish dancers and my favorite is in this video!). If you have watched Melodifestivalen (the Swedish national final show for ESC), then you will see several of these dancers on stage. Some of them have even been “in house-dancers” which means that they are in every episode of Melodifestivalen that particular year and therefore have a lot of time on screen.

This was in Sweden, too, none of the acts on this list were in Germany. Btw, do you guys, Mike & Joe, read these comments?... Anyway, along with Riverdance (Dublin 1994) this is absolutely one of the best interval acts, full of references to previous Eurovision acts, including a couple of previous winners on stage. So much fun!
I'm totally gonna suggest my reference week again next time because you guys may not have realized that *everything* portrayed in this video has literally taken place in Eurovision at least once!
There’s so many references to Eurovision history in this, it was wasted on a non-diehard fan! Sorry Mike and Joe, please come back later after you have passed your Eurovision degree.
@Flooweeers they would have to watch all the competitions from 1990 to present day, to really get it😅 Pity they didn't show interval acts they could vibe with. Like the one at Eurovision in Rotterdam(imho the 'friendliest' eurovision in years. Zero drama, lots of fun).
The impressive thing about this is, all the examples they give - the old women baking bread, the man in the hamster wheel, the piano on fire - have all featured in entries :-) But no, hosts are drawn from the country hosting, so both these hosts are Swedish. There are multiple interval acts every year because each Eurovision has two semi finals and a final, and the "interval" lasts about 45 mins, so there are loads each year.
YES!!! I knew this would be the #1, and I'm completely here for it to see your reactions. One of the best moments in Eurovision ever filled with so many easter eggs and in jokes. Just brilliant! There are three interval acts each year - one for each semi-final and one for the final. This was from Sweden (Petra has hosted three of the Sweden Eurovisions).
Eurovision brings tons of enjoyable song, not just within the competition, but within the national selections as well. For example, Erika Vikman did Cicciolina in 2020 and came 2nd in Finland's selection, and it still remains one of my favourites.
@@Vlamdier there are so many songs from the national finals that are my fav...Theje by Alban Ramosaj, Voljena zeno by Damir Kedzo (I am still glad Baby Lasagne won), Wild West by Bashar Murad, just to name a few.
So, I guess for any future Eurovision lists, we have to try and include as many infos as possible 😂 year, hosting country, country and placement of the song, if it's an interval act: have they competed before and if yes, did they win back then 😄
lol, thats funny. Never seen this. Normally when the intervals are on, i have my toilet break, getting snacks from the kitchen etc. I don't think though, that Joe and Mike will get all the references.... grandma's, Ice skater and I CANNOT believe, they still haven't seen Alexander Rybak with Fairytale (they would have recognized him otherwise in here). He is still one of the best Eurovision winners IMHO.
They also didn't say anything about Lordi and Loreen that made brief appearances on this performance which they watched before. I think they just forgot.
Petra has hosted Eurovision 3x, all when Sweden hosted. To answer your question there are usually opening and interval acts at each semifinal and final. They either usually a representation of the host country or past winners. They are mostly musical performances. However, Madonna and Justin Timberlake have been special interval acts in the final in the past 10 years. This past year when Sweden hosted again (Petra!), They had past Eurovision contestants as their intervals, Including a hologram Abba performance!
Yes they had Eleni Foureira (Cyprus 2018), Eric Saade (Sweden 2011) and Chanel (Spain 2022) as the opening act of semi final 1 and Benjamin ingrosso (sweden 2018) as the interval act of semi final 1
As others have mentioned, this interval act was a parody of a lot of the more memorable and/or meme'd acts through the years. I believe you've already seen the song with the Russian Grandmas' baking bread on stage, you've seen Lordi. But the violin player is Alexander Rybak who won with Fairytales and became a massive hit, the lady churning butter was part of a Dutch (i believe) act where there were women churning button in a verry suggestive way on stage. The man in the hamsterwheel was even a joke in the Eurovision movie with Will Ferrell. The Russian man on skates is a reference to a year when Russia was pissed that they never won, so they hired the top russian figure skater to do some moves on a miniature ice rink that they wheeled up on stage and they also hired a real stradivarius violin for a LOT of money (which is kinda fun because no music played on stage is heard during performances, it is all playback and only the singing is live so when you see musicians on stage it is all pretend). It is a song full of in-jokes for the Eurovision fans and I think you might have recognized a few of them as you've seen some Eurovision acts on your channel!
This song is absolutely packed with references to classic ESC performances. Probably about 40 different or so... And everything is live. A nightmare for the producers. And by now you probably know that it's made in Sweden and both Petra and Måns are from Sweden.
As many people said, they are swedish. And the truth is that everything you see and hear in this song is a reference to different winners throughout the history of eurovision, and many of the people on the stage are actually people/band who's won/been part of an act that's won.
There are multiple interval acts within the 3 shows. Usually one with something related to the hosting country and at least one with at least 1 artist from that country featured. Then on top of that often some sort of Tribute to previous enties or artists. The interval acts are during the voting period but there is also the openers to all 3 shows. You shold really get the full experiance one year and watch a whole show from start to finish including the voting!
This is my absolute interval act! The hosts are Sweden and all the acts u have seen with Petra is when Sweden has hosted. The people one the stage, the guy with the violin, the guy in the hamster wheel ect. are from previous eurovistions act that went viral for there specialties. You should really check out Alexander Rybak with his song Fairytale, that he won with 2009....... the guy with the violin.
I just saw your list and this was definitely the best. One ESC reference after another. My other faves are the flash mob and the Riverdance, that somehow did not make it 😢
The host are chosen by the national tv of the host country each year. So they are usually artists from the country which is hosting that year. Petra and Mans are both from sweden and they are usually asked to host when sweden wins (sweden wins a lot, so thats why they have hosted so many times) and they also have great chemistry together and they both have good voices, so they are often asked to be the interval act themselves, instead of just hosting the show. Other years the host dont sing, so the interval act is done by other artists. About the number of interval acts, you first need to know Eurovision is a full week of shows, so usually there is one interval act in each of the semi finals (tuesday and thursday) and the big interval act the night of the grand final (saturday) while they count the votes from the televote. Also there is the openning ceremony and flag parade which also include musical numbers, some bigger that others. It depends of the country which is hosting and the money they have that year to organize. But every year the bigger interval is the night of the final and that is the one everyone wants to watch.
Petra Mede has hosted 3 times, in 2013, 2016 and 2024. Those are the only Eurovisions she's been involved in. But she's really great with these interval acts. The one that has been involved in most Eurovision contests in Måns. He's beein in so many interbal acts that people don't want to see him in them anymore.
Petra began hosting the Melodifestivalen in 2009, and then se has host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013, 2016 and 2024. She also hosted the special gala for the 60th anniversary of the festival 'Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits' in 2015.
The real winner should be between Riverdance and The flash mob. They met a lot of obstacles during the Flash mob because of the ash cloud of the Volcano eruption so it was extremely hard to be executed. Even the film crew had o travel around Europe by bus and car because of the cancelled and delayed flights. They faced several problems and had to scale it down, still it become a success and bonded all of Europe.
@In_my_own_mind no, that flashmob was a great idea, but the execution was not. The Rotterdam lit buildings got my hairs stand up and got me crying at he same time. That flashmob, however, just got lost in its idea. Flashmobs were a thing that was pretty much over back then, and though the idea is still one of the best in Eurovision history, the execution was just not. A lot of countries didn't participate because local broadcasters weren't interested, and the London part was mayhem. Also the volcano ash was an excuse as many other live shows through satellite had no issues, including the main event. Also the countries most affected were the once that got broadcast. Israel, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, etc... had very little ash. I remember this because I was working for a company to get people back home and we redirected them to Spain and Italy. Riverdance, however, will always be the performance that eclipsed the main event. It is so rare and exceptional that it can probably not be repeated. However, Petra Mede as an entity and everything during her three times as a host are just as groundbreaking as Riverdance. She is the best host by far. I can only see the Dutch presentation of 2021 as fluid and professional in the history of the song contest. But it is my opinion based on those facts I stated, and I understand why so many people think that flashmob was epic. It must be an age thing, maybe?
You should watch the interval act from Melodifestivalen (Swedens Eurovision pre-contest) by Grotesco called Tingeling. It's the best interval act ever.
how old is this person (and is she probably swedish) who recommended these interval acts as THE best acts EVER! i get it that "love, love, peace, peace" or the madcon flashmob will get on any list to be one of THE best acts ever! BUT were there acts like madonna, justin timberlake, celine dion, RIVERDANCE and many more who deserves more to be called one of the best interval acts EVER - but instead were is an ingrosso medley or a smörgåsbord and another swedish act (the 4th) on this list?!?!
Well, this is back in 2016 when Sweden 🇸🇪 hosted the contest after Måns won in Austria with “Heroes”. I kinda think you could’ve realized it’s Sweden when Petra says “Swedish kvinaböskel” but it does seem like you watched a video uploaded by a German channel so I understand the confusion. Petra has been the host of ESC three times to date, Eurovision 2013, 2016 (in this video) and this year in 2024. Btw, Benjamin is also Swedish (and half Italian) lol. I personally love this interval act but I’d love it if you watched the grey people interval act from Eurovision 2016. It was kind of controversial because people got mad (I don’t remember why tho). I like that one because my favorite dancer (who is actually also in this one, and all the interval acts of 2024 with dancers) has a impro solo and I’m so proud of him! He was also the one who was lifting Chanel in this year’s opening act, he’s a legendary dancer. Here’s a link to the grey people: ruclips.net/video/yIcDBqL0lf0/видео.html
I can agree with this one being #1, however my list would include 2021’s Davina Michelle’s Power of water, 2017’s Onuka feat. Naoni orchestra and 2019’s Switch song.
This is just like all interval acts with Petra Mede Sweden hosting. This clip is just taken from Germain TV. Check out Loreens interval act from 2024 and her Eurovision intro 2013.
If you'd like something different (not Swedish), Ukraine had a great one in 2017 - mix of electronic and medieval orchestra, I think you guys would enjoy it: 'Onuka feat. NAONI Orchestra - Interval act'. (Her English is not so good, just pretend its a different language... Not a lot of singing and her voice is cool)
This is an Interval that every Eurovision fan will immediately kmow the reference, and former Eurovision Winners Aleksander Rybak and Lordi made their appearence there, again this is Sweden 2016.
What is a bit ironic is that this year 2016 Ukraine won with Jamala and her song about a real forced removal of her ancestors from the Krim peninsula. When she won she said that it is all about peace and that it should be. For some countries that is a real word that can only be taking seriously. Hope you put pressure on your leaders to help Ukraine or other countries than Iran will want to kill your current president.
I love that you are positive and all that, but PLEASE do some research about the video/creators beforehand, would increase the quality soooo much! Because: No it's not Germany just because it's recorded from a German TV. No Måns have not wore those clothes to his performance before. No Petra Mede has not been a contestant for Eurovision before. If you don't have time to do it before, do it during the video at least!
There are 3 interval acts every year. One for each of the Semi-finals (Tuesday and Thursday) and one for the Grand Finale (Saturday). They happen after all the songs, while the votes are counted and the result can be presented.
I developed a crush on Måns, in 2015. When he hosted, the next year, I fell in love... Especially, when the shirt opened 😂 After this, he met his wife, who is a UK actress and moved here. He co-presented our selection show, too, in 2018 (I think). Now, he's entering Melodifestivalen, in an attempt to represent Sweden in Eurovision, next year. I really hope he gets the votes to do it.
This was NOT German it's Swedish, but ESC is broadcasted in so many countrys, this is just not ripped from Swedish national TV. It's just a google away to find out that it was in Sweden. duh :)
What is this, the best Swedish intervall acts? Where's the best intervall act of all time: Riverdance 1994??!! There's also a lot other intervall acts, like epic Apocalyptica 2007 in Finland hosted Eurovision. Please react them at least! I think they know this and are just playing stupid for comments.

It's also better when the person chooses good interval acts unlike this week which is not that good.

A masterpiece of an interval act indeed.

The most influential interval act is Riverdance from 1994. Essentially created a genre of Irish dance and took the world by storm.

Yeah if you haven’t watched it all it’s hard to see why there’s a girl with a cleavage churning butter on stage. This vid is more for the fans.
This is great…. But to not have riverdance on your list… really? Elina…. We need to talk 😂
And next, make a list where you react to every Eurovision reference from this interval act. It will be a Top 500 or something 😅
I never knew what Eurovision even was so thank you to Elina for introducing me.
Love Love Peace Peace is great, but Riverdance will always be the best interval act of all time!
Disagree. Nothing can be better than "Love love pease peace".
And three opening acts!
Eurovision brings tons of enjoyable song, not just within the competition, but within the national selections as well. For example, Erika Vikman did Cicciolina in 2020 and came 2nd in Finland's selection, and it still remains one of my favourites.
It's my favorite too 💙
@@Vlamdier there are so many songs from the national finals that are my fav...Theje by Alban Ramosaj, Voljena zeno by Damir Kedzo (I am still glad Baby Lasagne won), Wild West by Bashar Murad, just to name a few.
Yeah, too many anti-Eurovision voters in the lives 😕, otherwise they could have had Fairytale on their list by now.
They also didn't say anything about Lordi and Loreen that made brief appearances on this performance which they watched before. I think they just forgot.
@@waterling5117 no, they haven't seen Rybak, cause the list never won. And I have seen all their Eurovision Reactions, rybak is not one of it
@@MissMars2022 but the point still stands. They wouldn't recognize him even if they'd watched him before.
Poland. The butter churning was Poland.
@@JKFoundaStoneDonatan & Cleo "My Słowianie" Poland 2014.
This song is absolutely packed with references to classic ESC performances. Probably about 40 different or so...
And everything is live. A nightmare for the producers.
And by now you probably know that it's made in Sweden and both Petra and Måns are from Sweden.
Everything is not live… Petra’s vocals weren’t!
@@Sanchordiadamn how do u know? Because I think she sang a little off sometimes (which isn’t surprising since she’s not a singer like Måns)
Nice #1, pure fun. My personal favorite is the 1994 Riverdance interval act.
Cannot believe riverdance has not featured 😮 tell me there’s another. Riverdance is regarded as the best Eurovision interval in history 😮
Måns has been on the Swedish "Melodifestivalen" many times. He won one time, and made it to Eurovision, which he also won
I can never get over the hamster wheel, Måns doing Dima Bilan and Loreen entering like a crab when "it begins to snow" 😂
Swedish hosted. You were watching the German broadcast of it.
This is my absolute interval act! The hosts are Sweden and all the acts u have seen with Petra is when Sweden has hosted. The people one the stage, the guy with the violin, the guy in the hamster wheel ect. are from previous eurovistions act that went viral for there specialties. You should really check out Alexander Rybak with his song Fairytale, that he won with 2009....... the guy with the violin.
yes!
Riverdance is one of the most influential dance phenomenon in the world that started as a Eurovision interval. WHERE IS IT?
So so so happy to have been (and still can’t believe I was) in the audience for this iconic performance 😍
This is from Swedish Eurovision
Petra has only hosted when Sweden was the host country
I just saw your list and this was definitely the best. One ESC reference after another. My other faves are the flash mob and the Riverdance, that somehow did not make it 😢
Best interval act Will be always 1994, the Riverdance
Riverdance, Alexander Rybak and Johnny Logan's second win still to come.
7:30 No sweety it wasn’t in Germany 😅 that was from Sweden 2016 🇸🇪 you guys just watched it on the „German“ Eurovision channel 😉
There are three interval acts per year, 1 in each semifinal and then one in the Grand final 🎉
This is one of the best interval acts. Sweden hosted.
She needs to be forever
Megaphone was already used by Lithuania in 2006
Petra Mede has hosted 3 times, in 2013, 2016 and 2024.
It is definitely the best! Still love it.
I don't know why your videos say Germany. There all Swedish intervals
It seems they are obsessed with Germany 😂
Because the German broadcaster's Eurovision channel is the one who has posted all of these
Just because the German television broadcasted this Swedish interval act and that this video got very many views.
10:30 an American instrument would definitely be a banjo!
Love this
Yet it still failed to live up to 'Riverdance' the real #1
Guys the best was “the power of water” with a stunning amazing effect from outstage to all the Public inside the building…
I think this was great, but im surprised the interval act from 1994, wasn`t included. It was stunning. It was the first time i watched Riverdance :o)
There's a great bit with these 2 and Europe the band
This was Sweden of course!
Germany would never have been this ironic and making fun of themselves!
how old is this person (and is she probably swedish) who recommended these interval acts as THE best acts EVER! i get it that "love, love, peace, peace" or the madcon flashmob will get on any list to be one of THE best acts ever! BUT were there acts like madonna, justin timberlake, celine dion, RIVERDANCE and many more who deserves more to be called one of the best interval acts EVER - but instead were is an ingrosso medley or a smörgåsbord and another swedish act (the 4th) on this list?!?!
She is ELINA THE PRINCESS OF WEEKLY TOP 5!!!
Put respect on her name!!
This and Benjamin’s medley is the shit tho
Here’s a link to the grey people: ruclips.net/video/yIcDBqL0lf0/видео.html
the best Eurovision interval act was Davina Michelle - The Power Of Water 2021
How have Mike and Joe not reacted to Alexander Rybak yet?! They would have no idea who the guy with the violin is
Yeah, no, Germany definitely hosted that many times haha 😉
I can agree with this one being #1, however my list would include 2021’s Davina Michelle’s Power of water, 2017’s Onuka feat. Naoni orchestra and 2019’s Switch song.
This is just like all interval acts with Petra Mede Sweden hosting. This clip is just taken from Germain TV. Check out Loreens interval act from 2024 and her Eurovision intro 2013.
Honestly, I think Loreen’s interval act from this year was underwhelming… I expected way more from her
If you'd like something different (not Swedish), Ukraine had a great one in 2017 - mix of electronic and medieval orchestra, I think you guys would enjoy it: 'Onuka feat.
Måns Zelmerlöv, Petra Mede, Benjamin Ingrosso is from Sweden. It was from a Sweden host.
Every time they say Petra is from Germany hahaha
This was in sweden 😃
Three intervals. Two semi finals and the grand final
Exactly they are very lazy
There are 3 interval acts every year. One for each of the Semi-finals (Tuesday and Thursday) and one for the Grand Finale (Saturday). They happen after all the songs, while the votes are counted and the result can be presented.
The chorus was taken from "Zauvijek moja" Serbia & Montenegro 2005
But they had no name
Finally 🙏
Petra mede is the best she the Queen of eurovision
I developed a crush on Måns, in 2015. When he hosted, the next year, I fell in love... Especially, when the shirt opened 😂
After this, he met his wife, who is a UK actress and moved here. He co-presented our selection show, too, in 2018 (I think). Now, he's entering Melodifestivalen, in an attempt to represent Sweden in Eurovision, next year. I really hope he gets the votes to do it.
Really… he’s coming back? I know Loreen won twice, but really. 10th anniversary, I suppose.
Haha I am in love with one of the Swedish dancers in this video… he’s the kneeling guy with brown hair at 5:57 hehe…
Since noone mentioned it on any of the three videos with Petra Mede i just thought I would mention that no.. NOT Germany... It's Sweden... *rolleyes*
A *lot* of people mentioned it, but the reactions had already been recorded. Or are you just trolling?
I agree with this number 1 but where is Riverdance and Liverpool songbook?
Sweden won a couple of times lately, that's why Petra Mede and Måns Zelmerlöf could hos it several times, 2013 and 2016 after winning the year before.
Why is this number 1? 😑
Grandmoms with a jar of sweets no one knows the origins of is a European thing too. 😂
Riverdance 1994 is the interval act that made the interval act actually mean something. Scandalous it was not in the Top5
Why do I think banjo should be “the American instrument”? 😂
please react to the entire top 10 of the eurovision 2024
FINALLY
This was NOT German it's Swedish, but ESC is broadcasted in so many countrys, this is just not ripped from Swedish national TV. It's just a google away to find out that it was in Sweden. duh :)
Shame the switch act wasn't included since that's my favourite act after this one maybe even tops it
What is this, the best Swedish intervall acts? Where's the best intervall act of all time: Riverdance 1994??!! There's also a lot other intervall acts, like epic Apocalyptica 2007 in Finland hosted Eurovision. Please react them at least! Not this endless Petra/Måns crap, which only young hardcore-fan prefer and even remember! ☝
