The goal is to get back to where Arizona state is or better! They have the new coaches to do it. Hopefully, the guys they get from the portal can help along with guys already on the team. My hope is they figure out who the QB will before the start of fall camp(fingers crossed Zane Flores)along with good signs the guys know the defense. GO POKES 🤠 🎉
Our basketball team will be better this year, but so are all the other Big 12 teams. The STATS should definitely look better this year. I don't think Bedlam last Saturday was a fluke - OU is in beast mode this year and I expect them to go deep.
I see too many moments that are too similar to Boynton and Ford to be optimistic and that is scoring droughts. We have no chance against the top half of the conference this year going through 3-8 minute scoring droughts. We have no alpha dog who looks to take over when we are struggling and thats just like the past two long term coaches. We have no player that can go get you 20 -30 in a game periodically like the better teams do. We have a bunch of 10-15 point scorers and when half of them struggle, we will struggle and we will when we come up against good defenses as they will shut too much of our production down. My fear with Lutz is whether he can recruit high school kids well enough to get top 25 talent. On OU....we don't know how good OU is. They have beaten nobody yet. They have some match ups against some top 10 teams that will show us how good they are. But I will agree they are better than us by far.
I've been a fan since the Terry Miller days. I was hoping for some other coaches, but im going to support these coaches until they need to go. What happened on the Vance stuff. I thought he was going to be the ol coach.
That's a very fair way of looking at this thing. You're a great fan! As far as the Vice thing, too much Premium Board message board reporting from folks that want attention, IMO. You would be shocked at how many DMs I get about this or that from folks claiming they have inside info on something happening, and then it doesn't. It's a pretty big giveaway where they got their info. I'm not a news reporter, and don't want to be, but, I've done some "breaking news" type stuff on my Dodgers Daily site and I hate it. It makes it not fun for me because I feel like I'm under cutting the organization by not allowing them to release the info in a way that is most advantageous to them. I have many, many more folks inside the OSU program than I do the Dodger org. because I grew up here, and with many of them, but I just think it's best to let the school release details to the best benefit of the school. Really, really frustrates me when "reporters" which I know have 0 sources, scour the message boards, then run with a story, and claim victory when they get 1 out 10 right. It doesn't help OSU, and it just makes it harder for any of us to trust anything else. Just my opinion, and I'm sure I'm in the minority.
Everyone wants to see a perfect football team - nothing wrong with that at all. Yes, aim high! Bowl eligible is yearly goal that should be in the rear view mirror for us - it's expected. I don't a 6 and 6 team should be rewarded with a bowl - that's not a winning season and nobody really watches those games. I think Gundy should be at a point where he can pull off at least 8 wins every season - but he isn't. Schools with national championship blood lines don't tolerate 4 losses - they make big changes for that! So what should the yearly goal be? That's easy - to win your conference, plain and simple.

Agreed...I think a couple of the coaches are getting raw deals, but when you're cleaning house there's collateral damage some times.
