I have this watch for a year now and I love it. The watch is still in great condition with no visible scratches though the resin band has scratches and I ordered a new band from Japan and shipping takes 5 months. I'm willing to wait 😊
Amazon US has been out of stock for a while, just ordered one on ebay. I hate the new LED upgrade they are doing across casio's lineup. EL is just so 80's that it saddens me to see it go away
I have had one since 1997! Mine was DW-290-T😎 And still works! I gone through more original watch bands since i got it😂😂 my only trustworthy nostalgic digital watch😊👍btw..i never knew it was on Mission impossible until many years later😂 good news for those who want it..so far Walmart is selling them as of right now!
I bought mine many years because of the mission impossible movie! Removed the writing on the case and looks far better imo. I just wish i could find a better quality strap as drawn a blank after years of looking. Great review 👍
EYYY, thanks for the mention at 0:23. And yeah, I think the DW290 is one of the best and most Unique-Looking Casio watches out there. The hybrid of looking like a diver mask and G-shock makes it my favourite digital watch ever. With this, I'm hunting down the last few models of Casio EL backlight, the A168 and the F105 next!! and I'm kinda disapointed with the DW291 it look like casio trying to combine the 290 with the royal and make it deform and unintresting.
Great watch to be honest, but I'd Highly recommend the F-201WA. It is a feature packed watch and I have had it for quite a long time. I think you should try it out.
There's a company in Singapore called Watch Spree that has them for about $42USD/€40EUR right now with free international shipping. I'd put in an order now though, all other suppliers seem to be charging nearly double as much. Last of the old stock I guess. In a few years time people will probably be calling it a modern classic and charging hundreds.
I've had mine for 3.5 yrs. Things I like about it: (1) the alarm feature (programmable), (2) the strap, (more flexible/comfortable than G-shock's), (3) the stopwatch (always displays the current time in the corner), (3) big, easy buttons (much appreciated if you are wearing gloves). Dislike: the aquamarine lettering rubbed off after just 2 years or so. Otherwise it's a fine watch.
Great watch and review, thanks. Hava had mine for about a month now and it's on my wist as I write this. Agreed about the strap doesnt bother me at all. Funnily, mine is also made in China but my buckle has Japan stamped on it. Wonder why Casio in China doesn't make them as my other platic bucle Casios are stamped China.
I recently bought the bog standard G Shock after getting fed up with the straps on the bog standard black casio digital watch perishing and failing every 18 months. Pleased so far. It was priced at £90 on their UK website, but I had a discount code, i think it was £75/80 including delivery. I think I prefer the electroluminescent back light to the LED light on my G Shock, its not so much the light itself I have a problem with, but the button is a bit too small and hard to press for my fingers, but I'm getting used to it. an electroluminescent G shock with slightly easier to press buttons would be ideal.

Great watch but the strap is very uncomfortable. The lug width makes it hard swap but I put mine on a W86 strap. It's much more comfortable and fits perfectly.
Sorry its overrated. I bought one a couple of months ago for £35 new Amazon, from all the RUclips hype. Opened the box and took it out. Sorry, but time has moved on. It's a £35 watch that feels like a £15 watch. Time to let it go. Put it back in the box and tossed it under the bed.
The styling looks like it was drawn by a Manga artist, with bumps and barrels and pips that serve no purpose, just to look "sci-fi-y." It's too "Transformer cartoon" for me.

Amazing watch, I've had mine for a good few years now and was bought because of the Mission Impossible connection. Great video Sir, enjoy the watch.
Casio. DW290. Viewers. Were. Right. This. Watch. is. Awesome

Tom Cruise, Mission Impossible.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊I have that watch myself.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Great review 👍
It’s a cool cult classic, and it’s proudly part of my collection, but I wear my G-Shocks more than this. Great review 👍
I'll never forgive Casio for discontinuing this one and the EL models before I have enough disposable income to get one.
True, those yellow lights of today are useless
I can't by w86 in my country anymore 😢😢😢😢
They're still available online
The Amazon for the Dutch market still sells them. They sell for 74 euro.
@@MrPleers Ouch. I got my one from Singapore and it was less even after shipping and taxes.

@@OgSwisszyed I agree about the DW291. They could have made the dial more interesting to fill up the space.

Owned the DW291 for about a month now and its became a favourite of mine. Looking forward to seeing if they make a DW292 or not
These were apparently discontinued in September of 2015, according to various sources.
When they were readily available I was intrigued but not particularly bothered about getting one. Now they are hard to get I feel like I want one.

@thomas316 just sold out there. Perhaps you bought the last one! Good website though - lots of great deals.
I have this watch It’s very good watch ⌚️
I swapped out the somewhat uncomfortable plastic strap for a nylon nato. Definitely an improvement.👍🏼😎

@@yanghuikwon It is unusual that you like the strap as most people don’t. Personally I don’t mind it.
Hi👋🏻, would you replace the battery (when needed) by yourself? I am wondering, because of the high WR.
I own two- TGV’s fault 😉
@@Zotrax1946 Yes I would replace the battery myself. I have instructions for GBD200 on this channel and it will be similar to that.
Got one earlier this year. It's a corker.

Is it going out of stock? I have a very old one but, if it is, I'll buy a new old stock one.
@@thomas316 It is not in production any more but some stores still have stock.

Casio❤❤❤
2 year battery life is 👎👎
@@kkasavu3149 It is. I hope that it lasts longer though.
Mine's still going after 4 years on the original battery. Casio is always reserved on battery life.

Horrible watch, so many better options out there.
