My voltmeter sometimes fluctuates. Stables at 220v, works for hours and deflects again. Back and forth until it stabilizes. What can you suggest I change

My generator produces power but suddenly the current just becomes so low/off and both voltmeter and indicator are off. If left running, overtime it comes back to normal again. What can I do please?
