Classic 😊
Great as always!
He also use a Motown EQ on his kick and snare.. lots of plugin options now.. Acustica Audio Rust might be the best one. or UAD or Kit lol or the very old URS
There's also the kazrog true 252 or the nomad factory retro tone
Too bad we didn't get to hear the difference in the context of the full mix. Seems like a cool trick!
Nice one Joe! Would you use this in conjunction with any parallel NY compression, or just choose one or the other? Does he use a similar chain for toms? My template just keeps filling up with parallel processing auxes, but it's great for the workflow to have them all ready to go when you need them.
I would use both. He doesn't use this on toms, but does use the pye comp (waves pie) which is fat and punchy.
@@GreenLightSound Thanks. I may just try these on kick and snare and use my normal NY comp for the toms.
Does this happen before or after the reverb bus for the kit pieces like snare? Does every channel need to go into the paralell compression or just the dry and reverb bus? Or does all of this happen before the paralell bus? That's what always bothers me about these tutorials, it's not entirely mentioned where in the chain it all happens.
It would be very nice if u do the overheads in the next video
He uses a Fatso for his overheads
@@stupidusername38 thanx, that is really nice to know
