And taxpayer-funded $24 BILLION for the homeless and numbers going up, not down. $1 billion has been spent and not accounted for. Would rather see the horse community receive it and put it to good use.
They are taking away all of the equestrian centers! Shame on Edison. They did this to my grandpas ranch back in the 90’s. He sold it and they revoked all the leases on that land.
My hope is that they are able to find the funding needed to keep this place open. Horses are such amazing animals and are so therapeutic to us horse lovers. They are also part of someone’s family! They are their first babies just as much as a dog or cat is for others. I pray that a solution is found 🙏🏼❤️
I used to ride the San Gabriel riverbed in the 60's and would visit friends at the facility off Carson St. We would ride on the graded land as the 91 freeway was being constructed and could gallop forever until our mounts tired. Those were the days...
2:26 If some rich donor can't show up, they'd better come up with some plan to make this into an attraction of sorts, so that residents can show up and and visit via some admission fee. Because $6mil IS alot of money. Hopefully someone can come up with a plan. Or a mysterious rich donor.
Horse Plus Humane Society in Tennessee will DEFINITELY take them or help with whatever it needs !! They won’t say no ! The ceo and founders name is Tawnee Priesner !!!!
Also... Of course anything that involves balls takes precedence... You can play that dumb game anywhere, an equestrian center is a little treasure and a slice of pure heaven!
I am in Oregon and I would be interested in a horse if one needs home. I use to train aqha horses. Been wanting find a foal. I would like one 5 to 12yrs old
most of them would be adopted, or an animal sanctuary would take them,,, the one's that can't be moved,,, can they keep the place 'sort of' running a few more years.. until the older horses pass. they should be cared for and loved until the end.
If the park goes down call Tawnee Presner President of Horse Plus humane society in Tennesse! She will take all the horses andf find them homes. Or the horses will end up in the slaughter pipeline.
Oh get rid of the horses and buikd a pickle ball court . Are you kidding me? Couldn't the money to build the park and stupid pickle ball court go to keep the horses there? Whos lining their pockets on this move?
Thank you KTLA for helping get the word out! 🐎
This is where our tax money should be helping people like this not other countries
Exactly 🙌🏻
Fricking pickle ball??😡
Is this Lakewood in TX?
Totally agree!!!!!!!!!
Exactly
What a bunch of BS! This is something for our kids to teach them values! Step up n save this!
It’s So Funny, The State Spend More Than 900 Billion for Ukraine War But Had No Money for These, Thank You KTLA For Helping Get The Word Out
And taxpayer-funded $24 BILLION for the homeless and numbers going up, not down. $1 billion has been spent and not accounted for. Would rather see the horse community receive it and put it to good use.
Cmon put this to a vote or the people need to speak up and get a petition going !
I hope they don’t close this!!!!!!

Ton of space at the parks around this place with open space and they want to remove the horses for Pickle Ball?
Can't be serious
Shame on the city & edison. As if edison is perfect.

Why does horse riding always come in last?
Also... Of course anything that involves balls takes precedence... You can play that dumb game anywhere, an equestrian center is a little treasure and a slice of pure heaven!
Is the place able to become a landmark or a cultural /historical facility? 80 years is a long time to be there ...
Pickleball really?? Someone, please save this equestrian center!! It will do more for the community than another pickleball court. Ughhh!
Pickleball?!!! You’ve got to be kidding me. The only thing more insulting would be a golf course.
Lakewood already has a golf course. They don't need another one.
Should check FEMA. For a donation. This place rescues horses the ApCA should be able to help. If this is in California contact Elon Musk.
Wasn’t this once named Decordiva (so) ranch ?

This is so sad-I used to go there when I was growing up 😢
Edison could donate the lease or the land-it’s a great cause:
Youth could work with the horses in a program.
Please help save this place!!
I just hope they wil not close it 😢😢😢
Vote on making it a historical site...
Then the city or ???
Cant shut it down...
Would force the city to maintain it
Because there aren't enough recreational places? Good grief...
❤️💔💔 pickleball 😢
I hope these horses are adopted to good homes

They could always feed the other animals horse meat because it’s food for the other animals!!! !!! !!! 😈
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Close it we need a skatepark
No we don't these are living creatures and more will end up dead. Don't close it, there are already enough recreational places. Good grief.
