You are amazing. Thank you 😊
I needed this. Thank you kind stranger 🙏 ❤
thanks!
So kind of you to put all the information together.
They have soooo many sunscreens and the names are all so similar!!
IKR its so confusing omg
It’s overwhelming 😣
Yeah it's a general issue with the brand, they have 26 product series in europe alone of which at least 6 have moisturization for sensitive skin as a focus, I really cannot tell what makes them different from each other.
Their packaging all looks way too similar too. They really gotta work on that. I like how the versions available in the UK are a little more easy to differentiate between packaging.
Right, they named it so similar, so confusing
POV: You’re here after the shocking news about the PURITO sunscreen.
Yesss
jepp, back to Anthelios it is 😂👏🏼
lol yes 😭 I have a medium skin toned and finding a good SPF has been so hard, I really thought PURITO was the one. I have trust issues now.
Hahaha so accurate ! Not only Purito but korean sunscreens in gereral... Such a shame.
lol even La Roche Posay sunscreens have been shown not to match their SPF index claims on their label...Purito isn't the only one MANY western brands have had similar SPF discrepancy issues
You are one of the only youtubers I watch that care and make an effort to advice products sold worldwide. That makes such a difference for us non American audience. Thank you sincerely
Ok Dr Dray, your skin is the best thing I have seen in a while
Yes, it’s so smooth, glowy and zero blemish. Is it the result of sunscreen, fragrance free skincare and tretinoin?😍
Ikr, her skin is so glowy and healthy
@@ashtonbailey5138 i also think she lets the skin breath lets her recommended products to work i find that to work myself love her
Rebecca Yip and salicilic acid i think 🤔
omg thank you for Jumping STRAIGHT into it you didn’t even waffle on
I would love to see an updated skincare of yourself Dr. Dray, your skin is so beautiful! Dewy and flawless!❤️
Love the bottom banner listing the ingredients. So helpful. Sending healing positive thoughts to your mom❤️
To be honest, you are the most reliable, truthful and non-commercialized dermatologist on RUclips. And yes, I agreed with other comments that you looks so much better everyday. Thank you for creating such a great contents for consumers and the public.
I appreciate the education you provided about L'OREAL, I did not realize they blazed the trail in sun protection. Very interesting. Thank you for this review, I've been wondering about the differences between the LRP sunscreens.
I thought it was Coppertone.
@@michaozga7825 are you serious this product has potential for cancer ? I was wondering why u cannot as I looked get this in any stores dr.drays link wasn't amazon I did go to website idk where they are I don't think its U S
@@themermaidstale5008 Coppertone was suntan lotion and oil -- the opposite of sunscreen.
Is loreal really good? Can anyone recommend me some
@@unboxingangel5845 The original comment was talking about La Roche Posay, because that brand is owned by L'Oreal. So I guess by L'Oreal sunscreens she/he meant LRP, which you can find in this video.
I’ve been loving the Shaker fluid for the last few years and love the way it gives my 40yr old skin a beautiful glow! Love to you and your mum.💕
The first LRP sunscreen also comes in a tinted version. I have olive skin and it blends in perfectly with no cast. It also blurs imperfections but still just looks like your skin.
I’m so the video came out. I’ve been stressing myself out finding Dr. Dray video commenting out on LRP sunscreen on her channel. Thank you!
Dr. Dray, I love how enthusiastic and excited you are in this video!!
I’m in Canada, I just bought the one you recommended but they also sell it for sensitive skin so no burning! It’s fabulous.
after the terrible purito news, the search for the perfect sunscreen continues....
Same here...
same😩😢
Same haha
Ugh same... it’s summer for me now and I literally just started using it this morning and I can definitely feel a bit of a burn.... majorly pissed off
I'm a Korean and I don't buy korean sunscreens. I think European and Japanese sunscreens have better formulated sunscreens (in terms of ingredients, long wear, cosmetic elegance, compatibility with makeup) with years of research to back up the product
As a black woman in 🇨🇦🇨🇦 I use the third sunscreen that Dr Dray showed on my face. I will say that it is a little greasy however I don't find that I have a white cast after application. I also use Garnier Ombrelle on the exposed areas of my arms, legs and chest with no white cast.
Try using a powder with spf over it, I started doing this and not only do I get to wear more sunscreen without looking oily I also get extra spf protection from the powder
What are you using for your face ? Thank you.
Thank you for that. As a wyt-ish person, I don't want to be wyt-er, and that cast gets all over everything--handbags, clothing, touchpoints of my car.
Shaka fluid aka Invisible fluid is a PPD 46 (UVA protection). Also it uses Tinosorb S lite aqua. Basically this sunscreen is really big in terms of protection, it's critical wavelength is probably around 380nm instead of 370 recommended. It is quite shiny but for the protection and stability it gives, it is absolutely incredible. They also have a "spray" version of it for kids with PPD 36.
These are great. I like the Josie maran spf 50 tinted moisturizer for face! ✨
Enjoyed the review. I just purchased my first La Roche Posay product recently and have been happy with it so far. Will be looking for one of these sunscreens next. Thanks, Dr Dray! Hope you have a fantastic evening. 💙
She literally does the perfect reviews
Since recently subscribing to your channel I’ve never been so excited about sunscreen in my 45 years of life. I live in South Africa so Sunscreen has always been drummed into us but it’s hard to find good sunscreen that’s not thick and goopy especially considering I love wearing makeup. Luckily we get La Roche Posay here now and the pricing is actually good so I can’t wait to go get me some!! Thank you for your incredible teaching here on RUclips 🤩
I loved their sunscreens, but despite the alcohol content... My skin was not always as super dry as it is now.. in years past, I really appreciated a light non-sticky formula.. now, I prefer a smooth, creamy consistency!
As usual thank you Dr Dray ! I just bought Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics SPF 50+ for my body , and the ultra light invisible fluid 50 for my face and I'm so excited. France has some of the best sunscreen products in the world along with Japan and South Korea.
It's funny how you mentioned that people hate greasy sunscreens but love oils! I have noticed this as well haha I personally don't mind a bit more of a greasy sunscreen for under makeup, it almost gives me a bit of extra moisture that helps my makeup to stay dewy! On days that I don't wear makeup, I definitely try to find a less greasy sunscreen but I don't mind if it has a little bit because I would rather feel a little oily/dewy than stripped and dry!
okay... You read my mind?! I've been spending today deciding on my next LRP sunscreen to buy!
I love this brand! In Australia we need a really good sunscreen and this brand is fantastic. Plus it's safe for acne prone sensitive skin.
It's the only one I have found in Australia that is guaranteed not to sting when it gets in your eyes. And all sunscreens move around your face in the course of a day and end up in your eyes.
I really enjoy the ticker at the bottom of the screen that lists the active ingredients. Bring it back please :)
Thank you so much for including the UK! LOVE your videos and have just ordered the first cream you recommended, wonderful. My brother in law has had a terrible case of Melanoma and has had to have extensive immunotherapy through the pandemic and had had to shield at home, so awful for a very active, outdoorsy man. Sunscreen is so, so important.
Dear Dr Dray, I wish you would do a full review of NIOD! I am super interested to know what you have to say about their products since it's a sister brand of The Ordinary with much higher price points.
I love LRP invisible fluid. A lot of the sunscreens i tried really burned my eyes but this one doesn't. It's also very comfortable to wear. I have normal to dry skin sometimes so I do wear a little cerave cream underneath sometimes but i still love how it wears and how comfortable it is. My sister has oily skin and she loves loves loves it too. No stickiness, stinging or oilyness. Also grear formula. Thank you so much for educating us Dr!
I love La Roche Posay Anthelios Shaka fluid, I’ve been using it non stop, so good on the skin! ❤️
Thank you Dr. Dray for making my gift giving SO easy! Mother’s Day...sunscreen; birthdays...sunscreen; Christmas...sunscreen; the platter I bring to thanksgiving...sunscreen. I’m THAT person now. 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
If someone else is going to buy me sunscreen i would probably won't wear it cuz fragrance.. but yea I totally get what you mean lol
YAM AII I haha. I have been following Dr. Dray for three years now and I know what’s a no go. But it is true that (like she says) “anything has the potential to break someone out.” But it allows people to try one and its a good conversation starter about what are some good options for their skin. But yes, NEVER fragrance!
Me too, Samuel! Miracle anti aging cream? No, thank you! A good sunscreen IS a miracle antiaging cream! thanks Dr. Dray!
Samuel John Gilbert anyone recommend a tinted sunscreen? Preferably from us
Love love my La Roche-Posay
50 tinted mineral sunscreen
I’m 56 and it gives me a beautiful glow that I love I don’t even have to wear makeup with it
I’m considering the tinted sunscreen too but I have sensitive skin and seem to constantly get whatever sunscreen I’m wearing in my eyes. 😐 Have you had any trouble with it burning your eyes?
@@thepuglady3931 no it doesn't I apply it under my eyes
I just bought and used on vacation this past week and it’s my favorite facial sunscreen to date. I also loved how the tinted formula lasted all day! It helped keep my melasma at bay and protected me even as I use retinol products in my routine. I’m 45.
Thank you Dr Dray, I tried out the La Roche-Posay Invisible fluid based in your review and so excited to finally find a sunscreen that affordable and fits me perfectly. I cant thank you enough!!! You are legend! Love from sunny South Africa 🌸
Dr Dray, just want to say your headband game is strong! Love your videos and please keep making them when you have time :)
Dr. Dray’s advice is the best! She knows her 💩!
Video ideas
• All time favorite sunscreen, mineral, chemical, combo, tinted, asian, american, European ect!
•Review olaplex hair care( they have a mini set on sephora) !
I don't think they really cover hair follicles in dermatology school, I could be wrong
Jo Reilly: Not true. Hair is an accessory organ of the skin so its anatomy, disorders, and treatments are part of a dermatologist’s residency training program (post-medical school) and they must pass board exams that include questions on it.
I would personally like to see a video on chronic staph infections and the best way to prevent/treat them. My GP hasn't been particularly helpful aside from just saying they're incredibly stubborn... like, no shit dude. I've been on countless courses of oral antibiotics and the damn things always end up coming back.
I'd love to know exactly how I contracted this. I spent 30 years of my life never having them and then bam...all of a sudden I have to deal with them. Constantly. Even if I just get a regular zit and pop it (yes, I am very careful when doing this) the blood and puss has a 'sticky' like texture to it. I know that's kinda gross but dermatology in general involved a lot of gross stuff, just go watch Dr. Lee's channel :P
I must say, they have simmered down **a lot** since starting tretanoin and occasionally using a topical antibiotic as a kind of spot treatment but I want them gone for good :/
Plus favorite water 💦 like foundations doe face! And best coverage for tinted!
@@jt8142 TIL :) thanks for correcting me
Just a tip: a lot of drugstores (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid) have these almost unbelievable sales during certain times and of lot of the reason behind it is because the sunscreens are EXPIRED!
They get massive amounts before the summer season, so by the time the next year comes, they have a lot of sunscreens that they weren’t able to sell.
Most places don’t make their employees check for expired products, so PLEASE check the dates (on everything, honestly, especially if it’s going on ur face 😱) Sometimes the reason for a bad reaction is because it was expired 😟
I just recently went to Ulta to purchase a moisturizer, and it was expired, so it can happen anywhere. Be cautious ✨✨
I have never seen a expiration date on cosmetics or product... Only how long you can use it, AFTER opening it. Usually 12 or sometimes 6 months
@@swetanoor1 in the past I haven’t honestly, but these past recent years, with skincare products I’ve purchased, there’s been an expiration month and year provided.
Maybe it’s something to bring up to some of your favorite skincare brands. We as consumers deserve more transparency, don’t you think?
@@swetanoor1 from my experience the ones with active ingredients usually have expiration dates
@@swetanoor1 since sunscreen is considered a drug in the us it’s required to have an expiration date.
The invisible fluid is just so AMAZING!!!
A friend of mine send it to me and told me how much she love it. Now I'm hooked! ❤️
I’ve been using the anthelios for years and so happy with the review! 😁
My dermatologist suggested me a few LRP products years ago and they have been very helpful.
They also have a a huge number of products so your videos/reviews have been very helpful as I prepare for the outside world, starting with this summer. (I'm from Europe fyi.)
The first one she mentioned is amazing !!!! I live in France so it’s only 10€ this is the best sunscreen I have ever used and I am a black girl it doesn’t leave a white cast on me . I looove it
Hiii! Agreed! Had the anti shine one but it did peel a bit on my skin (when i used too much), switched to the fluid one and it is AMAZING.
I love how informative your videos are!
your skin looks better now than it did from your videos AGES ago!!! Amazing!!!💙💙
Also your skin looks si amazing at the moment could do with your secret for how to get glowing xx
I love the first one you listed too 😍
Expensive but it ticks all the boxes - in Australia this brand is usually between $25 - $40 Aus 😌
Second one is really good too but it’s a bit more shinny
I discovered their sunscreen in CVS when trying to find one that wouldn’t irritate my sons skin, and I never regretted the $30 price tag! I absolutely love it, I’ve never seen a sunscreen that IMPROVED the skin like a quality skincare product!
I'm so happy that you made this video. I love La Roche Posay. The first bottle I owned was a hand me down from a friend during my China study abroad. It was all I had for sunscreen when I travelled rural China that summer. My friend and I burned horribly on our first day, because we tried to find a place via walking and got lost for 2-3 hours in the midday sun. After that I wore sunscreen religiously every 2 hours, because we were hiking everywhere.
I didnt wash my face or brush my teeth or shower for weeks at a time. It was RURAL China and honestly I felt dirty just looking at their bathrooms, it felt cleaner not showering. So all I did for skincare for about a month was La Roche Posay every 2 hours.
I am very oily and acne prone. I didnt break out at all!!! I look back on that time as one of the great brief periods of my life that I actually had clear beautiful skin with no acne. I personally had such an amazing experience using La Roche Posay and I would recommend this to others!
The second sunscreen you reviewed, the La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti Shine, it leaves a white cast by the way because of the small amount of titanium dioxide that it contains, if you're a guy and have facial hair or if you're just someone with a more darker skin tone, not necessarily black, even if you are olive or have a Mediterranean skin tone, you will definitely see the white cast especially when applied liberally and you really do have to apply sunscreen liberally to get good even coverage, I also find that it can pill, trust me I've used it, I know. oh and it also has a PPD of 31
I just bought that sunscreen, mainly for the amazing protection it provides, but I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out how to make it look good. I've tried everything: applying it all over the face at once, section by section, as fast as I can, slowly and calmly... Nothing works. It pills like crazy, it's like it dries immediately upon touching your skin; when you're getting to the last bits of your face (usually eyelids) it already dried up on your fingers so you're just rubbing the pilled sunscreen into your face. It does dry in white patches and streaks, and it clings to eyebrows, hairline and any other facial hair. It looks awful.
I really need an online course or something on "how to apply LRP anti-shine 101", because a lot of people love it and recommend it. I must be idiot here.
The has happen to me.
@@marcia6010 that happened to me too. I just couldn't make the antishine work. The Shaka Fluid works much better for me.
@@shiningyoonie It happens to me to, i use la roche posay repairing balm before and this helps to spread it better, make it more creamy and to not cling so much to my eyebrows. But leaves me a huge white cast its imposible i have tried everything lol
@@marcia6010 you really cracked me up here!. I'm picturing you in front of your mirror, swearing and cursing. I'm the same, every day I go through the same thing. One of these days my mirror will come alive and kick me out of the bathroom lol...
When I lived in France La Roche Posay was the number one dermatologists choice of sunscreen and it was cheap, cheap, cheap in Spain. Its expensive in UK as is everything. PS Dr Dray, I am so glad to see you looking so damn healthy, skin today looks to die for.
Time to shop! Thank you Dr.Dray because this Florida sun doesn’t play nice 🥵 Be safe everyone and have a great Wednesday😁
Thanks Latricia have a wonderful Wednesday !
Thanks mary ann Gonzalez!! 🤗
I love LRP, in fact, whenever I travel I always make a point of visiting a pharmacy to scoop up any LRP sun creams that are not available in Canada. Last year I started using Vichy's Ideal Soleil sun creams and I love them too.
I would love to see you review the Vichy sun creams.
Thank you. With the lockdown in my country i can only buy french skincare and sunscreens. I know what to buy now. ❤❤
Happy Wednesday from Canada. Thanks for great recommendation☀️🌅
So because of you ( and my hours of binging) my skin has never looked better. I just turned 34 and this last month is the first month I’ve had skincare. I know. The last thing I needed to get was a sunscreen. I tried two other of your recommendations but they pilled over my moister cream and actually stung a bit. Returned then and got THE ONE La Roche-Posey sunscreen you didn’t mention here ( but I figured if all the other are great why wouldn’t this one be) and it’s the cooling water-lotion. I LOVE it so much! Doesn’t sting, pill and goes on so smoothly then disappears. Thank you so much! ❤️
So funny that you posted this today! I just bought the anthelios 50 mineral ultra light fluid. It’s my first time buying this brand sunscreen and I’m really impressed. I’ve been using Neutrogena clear face sunscreen and it looks good but it burns my face so bad. I really wanted something that looks nice and feels comfortable. So happy to have finally found a great sunscreen!
The LRP sunscreens are really popular here in China too! I haven’t tried them but going to try them later. I’m currently using the EltaMD UV shield SPF 45 and the UV Pure. both are really good 👍 I also want to try out the UV Physical, which is tinted
Love your content! Before purchasing anything I rewatch your videos. You're a life saver!
Sameeeee
La Roche Posey’s Mineral Ulta Light sunscreen fluid 50 and their Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser are HOLY GRAILS for me. Thank you Dr. Dray for this video. 👏🏻
I'm currently loving the La Roche Posay Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics SPF 50+. I can go running wearing it with no stinging my eyes. It has no caste but gives my skin a slight gloss which I enjoy
The Fluid is great!!! I loved it, I bought Anthelios for Imperfection and it was a disaster, super sticky and really heard to spread. And I feel like I had more inflammation afterwards
This was exactly the video I was looking for, thank you so much!
I like your videos because you show us your real skin without makeup, I have hormonal acne and I do not use makeup,I aim to improve my skin care without makeup, I see alot of people with flawless skin wearing makeup
Thanks for your video as always. I have been loving the Altruist sunscreens that you did a video on some time ago. My 6yr old loves them because they run in so much easier than the mineral ones. I am on the US but order from Amazon UK! Thanks for all your hard work on helping us protect our skin!
Love LRP sunscreens so much! My mom first bought it for me when I was 14 and I'm so grateful for that :)
Thank you for this informative video! I currently use the La Roche Posay Anthelios 60 Clear Skin dry touch on my oily skin and love it! It pills so I apply it quickly and wait a little while before applying a tinted SPF. It doesn't break me out or leave a shine like some other brands do!
For my oily skinned friends, the anthelios anti shine doubles great as a primer !
Does it leave a white cast? For light brown skin tones?
@@dilashabhattarai6826 yes this one does leave a white cast unfortunately. The anthelios is soft 60 so it's pretty thick. The ultra fluid spf 50 likely won't leave a white cast
Dr. Dray - you look so beautiful, your skin . wow
This is my absolute favorite sunscreen in Canada!
How can I get the product in usa? Is there a store there that I can order from that will send to us. It is the one sunscreen she said is only in Canada
To my european shishters (and brothers): Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced UV Face Fluid is a dupe for LRP Shaka Fluid. The first 14 ingredients are identical, so are the filters. Plus it's half the price! The company is also owned by l'Oreal btw
I fell in love with LRP sunscreen from the first day of using, no grease,no teary eyes, truly does melt-in to skin easily..love love love !!!!💓
I'm from Turkey and and this brand is easily accessible. Thank you Dr Dray!
You should do a video about detergents and fabric softeners (if you haven’t done it). The fragrance etc in them can cause a range of skin problems.
Such a helpful and informative video (as always)! I’m in Canada and I use the 3rd one you showed/talked about and I adore it!! It also wears perfectly under makeup and doesn’t give me any skin sensitivity issues whatsoever. It’s a winner so I’m glad to hear you confirm that’s phenomenal. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
I don’t mind a little shine too! Goes great under my makeup, gives that luminous base. I understand some can’t use as just exacerbates and looks oily. But if you’re normal to dry, no problem, IMO.
Thanks Dr. Dray. I’ve used a couple of these with great success. Hope that someday, the US will catch up on the sunscreen game.
I’ve been looking into using chemical sunscreens and specifically ones from LRP with Mexoryl recently, this video is literally perfect timing! Thank you!
I just tried this brand for the first time 2 weeks ago and I really love it.
Yes have been using mexoryl for 7 years now 💕💕💕
I ordered the Anti-shine one a couple of days ago (in France). Thank you for addressing the running into the eyes issue, I hate it when sunscreens do that.
I'm so happy I found this channel , thanks for bringing real knowledge to RUclips, it's quite interesting to learn about the actual science behind skin care and what is actually doing anything useful for your skin
Look at Dr Dray looking cute! I love that hair band.
Awesome and super helpful dr dray video per usual!!
La Roche - Posay Anthelios 60 Melt In Sunscreen Milk is perfect for deeper skin tones. I currently wear it on my body and face. I purchased my sunscreen from Ulta and did not experience a white cast.
You don't get a white cast because it's a chemical sunscreen.
I've actually seen how when I forget to use my zinc oxide SPF 50 I get a burn and inflammation and when I use it there's full protection. And this is in Australian summer aswell, so mineral sunscreens really are some of the best, you can't really get away from the cast when it comes to sun protection.
I'm in the UK, just found your channel, have been using this suncream for a few weeks now, even though we don't have very high temperatures here, I found it a benefit
My top sunscreen is La Roche Posay Athelios Ultra for sensitive eyes. I'm so happy I found this product! I have VERY sensitive eyes and sometimes sensitive skin, this doesn't irritate my skin and I can even wear it on my eyelids! I don't think it's water resistant though? Doesn't say on the box.
The La-Roche Posay Anthelios Hydrating Cream spf50+ (with the blue line) is perfect for normal to dry skin. It feels just like any other moisturiser, leaves zero white cast and spreads very easily on the skin. I have an oily T-zone but I can make it work with with a bit of mineral powder. It is moisturising without being sticky and greasy. Guys, you should come to Europe and buy a suitcase of sunscreens when this pandemic is over!
That headband though! LOVE. Also, not sure what you have on your skin in this video, but it looks amazing. ALL sunscreen burns my eyes. I hate sunscreen, and ironically I live in NM, so can't even consider going without :(
I've read on other RUclips channel comments you are the beast aka amazing at what you do.
I have very sensitive skin and cystic acne and I've been using the LRP Shaka fluid spf50+ for 8 months and It's has been the sunscreen that I have ever used. Also probably the best available in SouthAmerica.
I've had tried Missha's Sunscreen (Zero Sebum spf50+) and Avéne Fluid Sunscreen no fragrance (spf50+). The first one has been too overdrying, and the second one has been kind of oily for our humid weather but suitable for some dry winter days
The Anti Shine one starts pealing on the half way of the tube. When it's new its the best, but I still prefer the Shaka fluid.
I love La Roché Posay! Specially the Sunscreen and Facial wash. Love from Switzerland Dr. Gray 😘😍 Glad to see you again.
Wonderful review. I literally just bought the La Roche Posay SPF 50 you introduced with. Your review reassures me I made the right choice - thanks Dray!
In Canada La Roche Posay recently changed their anthelios ultra fluid face lotion it now has these filters :
MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS:, Drometrizole Trisiloxane (Mexoryl XL) 7%, Bemotrizinol (Tinosorb S) 5%, Octisalate 5%, Octocrylene 5%, Avobenzone 3%, Homosalate 2%, Ensulizole 0.5%,
Even better then before!
It is hard to find a place to order them from
La Roche-Posay's Anthelios Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid is called Anthelios Hydraox here in Brazil, but this version has fragrance.
I want your glowing skin Dr. Dray!!
I just bought the gel sunscreen for oily skin and I hope to get along with it. I have the Epionce spf 50 but sometimes it’s a bit much for me. The quest for the perfect sunscreen continues :)
This was just the video I needed to see!
I hope we get good chemical sunscreen in the US eventually.
