It’s one thing to have a job that lets you interact with some of the most interesting people in our society, but…to sit between Daltrey & Townsend, joining them in a performance of one of Rock’s greatest songs… *ON TOYS* …that’s gotta be a memory of a lifetime.

I’m not saying that The Who was the greatest of all bands, or that this is the greatest of all songs; but if you had to pick one song to represent rock and roll to another planet or future generations or something this would be it. And seeing it played here on primitive instruments feels profound, like the apocalypse has happened and the few survivors are trying to keep the spirit alive while gathered around the fire. This video feels like the coda for the postwar generation, like a lot of rowdy voices at an Irish wake for human civilization.

If an Alien comes from outer space and says "What's rock music like?" Hand them one album, Live at Leeds, drop your imaginary mic and leave the room.

One of my favorite joints by The Who. Roger Daltrey looks incredible at 75 yo. Black Thought in the back praising everything that's holy. Lol! This is awesome! 😝😝❤❤

I live near Rodger Daltry. His house looks like a smaller castle. He doesn't seem like a toy guy and yet BEHOLD! What a fantastic sense of humour he and Pete have! Only Fallon could pull this off... kudos dudes!

One of the greatest rock anthems in history reduced to a kids band by the very band who wrote it. Hey, Pete and Roger did their part. They're having fun in their old age and they're entitled to it.
