Thumbs up for the snare heads! Clear head or 2-ply on the snare are not weird at all for rock & metal, just not trendy & popular at the moment. Works well, gives more attack and clarity, and the dot on the top is more durable than reverse dot (which is the norm at the moment).

I had the Charlie Bennante Snare for a few days and it was nice. But I already had the SLP Black Brass with diecast hoops and they aren’t much different. So I said bye bye to the Bennante Snare.

Great vid krimh, can't wait for the next one. I have the problem with rimshotting a lot, the screws always come loose (pretty low tuned snare) got any tricks to prevent this???
my only question is, where did you get that small vertical tube that connects both your racks? can't seem to find one for my set up which is very similar. cheers!
I actually had 3 rack tubes and simply cut a small piece off. I think Gibraltar hardware offers a round short tube which you could use for this as well.

Put plumbers tape on the tension rods and use either tunerfish lug locks or TAMA has a similar thing: Tama TTL10 Tension Lock
So you don't use moongel or other stuff? I don't understand if the black thing on the heads is for sound.
