Thanks for this! Do the recent updates to the multi-channel kids modify your previous videos about making logic kids sound more realistic? They sound better recorded/EQ'd to me, but I've got into the habit of removing literally every plugin and then re-adding plugins from scratch (I realize that's not efficient, but thought I'd learn better how the various plugins work that way; I like the sound/control of non-stock compressors and EQs, for instance).
That's a good point- I need to do a deeper dive but I know that they are doing a LOT more processing on them than they used to. That's a great approach to learning!
Great video and look forward to reviewing the check list. Love this insight on the Room. Do you do anything on Leak channel? Also, quick question: I use Logic drums producer kits, basically on every tune. I've noticed in the update to 11, the producer kits have become a bit 'complex' and sort of bombarded with sends and auxes. In the Portland+ example - there are sends to a 'Snare Aux' - and then like 5 sends to various effects. [In 10, they seemed to be a bit more straight line. What's your view on the new templates]. My initial thought is to just export all drum tracks as audio files raw and bring them back in and start from scratch. What's your view on the complexity of the new P+ kits?

It is! I'm actually about to build a new studio setup a main focus will be recording drums, so we'll have lots of content about that in the future! I'll probably do an entire workshop at some point

Honestly, the first step of splitting out the tracks was gold. You might want to add this to the metadata of the description, or possibly do a separate How-To on "mixing Logic Drums as separate channels."

That's awesome! Jordan's a great engineer and teacher. I haven't seen that video, but every pro engineer I know processes drum rooms like this so I'm glad they are also sharing. It's such a key part of a drum mix

Kind of! Just pulled out one of the elements I think is particularly key to highlight. I was working on a mix and it really stood out to me as "if people only do one thing... it should be this"
