I have always LOVED vegetables!!! But you certainly gave some wonderful suggestions for new ways to cook and serve them!!! I look forward to trying these!!! I loved how you shared your Mom! How dear! I plan to do that for my precious 5 year old Grand daughter!!! Thank you Lisa!!! I just adore everything about you and your channel!!
Well.... you did it!!!! You made me want to eat my vegetables today! They all look incredibly delicious. I would love those tomatoes over a nice plate of penne! Loved your words at the end. Living alone at 72 I do find myself eating at the kitchen counter ,and not taking the time to make it special. Tonight I will put out a nice placemat, a cloth napkin a pretty plate, and stemware for myself. I will light a candle and enjoy whatever simple fare I prepare. Thank you. Also , I will never cut an apple again , without thinking of your mother. What a sweet memory.
It’s so true, we can easily forgo self-care when we live alone. I lived alone for several years when my daughters went away to college (before meeting Tommy). It was at the dinner table where I faced my negative emotions and fears and learned to enjoy my own company by loving myself and letting the unconditional love of God pour over and into me. Each element (candle, flower, placemat) and bite of food can represent something beautiful. The tomatoes over penne would be scrumptious, great idea! God bless you ! 😘🩷
As a vegetarian for almost 20 years I really appreciate this., everything looks so delicious! As always you have given us lovely surroundings for inspiration! Thank you ❤
I love everything about your videos. You, your home are so welcoming and the ambience is so beautiful and calming. I love the recipes and how you make a point of creating a lovely table. We need to make time to create a beautiful life the way you do.
Wow you made this look easy! I've had this book on my radar for a bit but have heard that his recipes can be a bit complicated, you have changed my mind! Mrs. Lisa you are so lovely I really like your channel😇
I’m so blessed to have you aboard!! Yes ma’am, his earlier books are complicated and then he improved and wrote Simple, which is truly simple. Before cooking the recipes in this book he has you buy 10 ingredients, not typically in our pantries, and I must say it added a lot to my food “repertoire” and invigorated my senses and excitement to try new things. We all get stuck in “what to cook” ruts regardless of our love of cooking and food. Was at a restaurant in San Juan Capistrano yesterday and chatted with the British owner and he said there isn’t a restaurant in London that hasn’t been impacted by Ottolenghi. Very interesting - had no idea how impactful he is abroad, but it all makes sense now!! Enjoy !! 😘💖
Love it! I’m now considering getting his first book to see if I can deconstruct and simplify some of his recipes. You gave me an interesting idea!! But I’m going to do more from simple, for sure!
Oh please Lisa, you hit it out of the ballpark with this vlog. These are all ingredients I have around with a few exceptions, mainly the book, which I hope you found that at Costco. I m going to do the cauliflower with ghee instead of butter though, so that would be my first sub. I do use the Nancy’s probiotic yoghurt and picking up a thyme plant at Green Thumb. The lemon rind adds another dimension of flavor to everything and freshness that you can’t get at most restaurants. And yes, with the weather on our side finally, we can set a table out on the porch or balcony. I live in Mission Viejo and we’ve had nothing but rain almost every morning since May though the radar never shows it so the last couple of days of sun have been so nice. Thank you so much for taking the time to share these videos; it’s not easy but as for myself, I get a lot out of them and we have the same tastebuds. This was the best yet. Regards Nancy
Oh Nancy, you warm my heart, thank you 🙏🏻! We aren’t too far from each other and yes, finally SUNSHINE! I did get the book at Costco! Cooking through his book was my Covid shutdown muse haha! I appreciate your input and feedback. Have an awesome day. 🩷
@@lisaemeterio oh you’re welcome Lisa. I commented on another one of you vlogs yesterday re the meditation video, but I did it while RUclips was running a continuous loop of each of your videos. I have no idea which one it posted on so sorry about that. I am your fan and sharing with family and friends. You ve found your niche. I’m going to find that book though. Let’s hope the worst of Covid is behind us now and our prayers are heard, everyone will be safe again
Yum, I made the roasted tomatoes over cold lemon yogurt - wasn’t sure about the flavor combo but it was delish! Tomorrow I’m making the cauliflower. Thank you for the recipes 💜
🥳 Yay, so glad you enjoyed! (Btw, I posted the Tahini recipe in the description box down below - since it was the only thing I didn’t explain.) I’d love to hear how it turns out. 🩷
Wonderful recipes...but please forgive .how do you assure the little " critters" ie bugs are not hiding in the crevices of cauliflower and broccoli 🤔? Because the do...and we dont/ can't always see them.Would soaking the veggies first in vinegar/ water mix help to bring them out? Sorry.know it's a gross topic but real.😬🥴😞
Good point Teresa. For me, I purchase broccoli that is pre washed and bagged airtight, then cooked at a high temperature so I’m good with my method, but respect personal preference. As for the cauliflower, it gets boiled, which is the best method of cleaning imho. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and concerns! 🩷
