    Hey Jake, IPS are definitely spot on compared to Va. My only suggestion to you is the angle of your monitors look to be a bit angled out. If you can touch the corner of your monitors on the left and right your in my opinion in the sweet spot of FOV. You may be there but it was kinda hard to tell via video. Nice job regardless. Give raceroom a try in sim ventures. Great sim with one of the best driving experiences.

    Ur FOV isn't lined up, look at the walls on the right bezel. In the menu, press control + F12 and will bring up a hidden camera menu, select the cockpit camera in the replay and mess with the setting "vanish Y" till lined up. Then, ajust the car cam with the orient settings until satisfied

    i think triples will always be king, but its the question of space, complexity, cost and then cost in terms of hardware to run it. what ultra-wide does really well though is that it will give you really everything you need to have fun, in a simple clean setup.

    Very Hepful video! Found some 32in VA 170hz 1440p monitors for around £190, great black friday deal, similar price to the Acer ones you linked in description, hopefully it all turns out good, running a 3060ti, which is about 2% overall better than your 2080, ( saw in other comment here ), so hopefully it can run well, i take with your 110-155fps ( that same comment ), is achieveable by mostly low settings, I don't even run high anything with my current 43in tv. So it'll be a nice upgrade hopefully!

      So ...i understand that track ir improves the experience for a ultrawide . But this man just upgraded to 3 screens to defer the need for track ir. A 180 degree field of view cures the need for any of that. All you gotta do is turn your head to look left and right .This is clearly an upgrade. My only advice for him is to turn those screens a bit more and surround himself withing the cockpit . I have mine set up that way and it's intensely immersive.

    Hi bud,
    I'm at the decision point looking at 32" x 3 as my choice from the answers I've received on my previous query, but another obstacle has come up when I actually started looking for monitors....
    where i live 32" 144hz IPS is just crazy expensive....
    So i have 2 Options for my Triple Screen Sim Racing setup.....
    32" 1440p 75hz IPS vs 32" 1440p 144z VA
    (both options above are priced very close)
    Is the Black Smearing & Viewing Angles of VA panels a problem/issue for Sim Racing?
    Should i go with 75hz IPS or 144hz VA....?
    Thanks
    (5600x/3080fe)

    • @its_jakester
      @its_jakester  Год назад +2

      What I actually did was I bought the VA monitors first put them on the rig and tested them…the only issue I had with them was they didn’t seem as crisp a picture as my existing 49” ultrawide Samsung so I returned them and got the IPS monitors you see in this video. These monitors seem more along the lines of my ultrawide as to crispness…that might be the only real way to differentiate between the two. I didn’t notice any smearing but the VA monitors were 165Hz. If they’re not more than you want to spend, have you thought of 27” IPS 165hz monitors? I would always try for the higher FPS monitor. I think it’s like a TV once your eyes are a custom to it you won’t notice any difference unless you have a different TV running next to it. So if you can get the 32” 144Hz VA monitors I go that route. 27‘s are good but I prefer the height of a 32” monitor

    @itsjakester I just ran across your video. Thank for the content! Sounds like I am in the same situation you were in a year ago...I have been sim racing for a couple years, but just recently started getting more serious. I am using a 49" Neo GO Odyssey and have recently been contemplating triple monitor set up....Couple questions...Do you have a regrets? I am currently running a 3090ti and i12900 Processor....Would you recommend upgrading to a 13th gen process (My mother board can also accept 13th gen) and would you strongly recommend 4080-4090 series card....Love to hear your feedback...thanks!

    • @its_jakester
      @its_jakester  18 дней назад +1

      I have zero regrets going to triples. They are much more immersive and give you a wider field of view. I sit 26 to 27 inches away from my center monitor and run at 167° FOV…it’s nice because I can see out both of my windows while racing/driving.
      The cons of triples 1. having three monitors one or more could fail (not likely though) 2. more wiring/cables. 3.more space needed than a 49 inch ultra wide.
      Another pro of triples is if you play any other games or do video content creation you can use the one center monitor. keep in mind with triples you’ll have to purchase additional monitor, supports, etc.
      As far as upgrading to a 13th Gen and 40 series GPU that’s completely up to you if you have the money sure, otherwise you don’t need those with your current 12th gen cpu and 30 series gpu especially if you’re playing iRacing.
      Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. You could also reach on my discord if you want. discord.gg/xK53CJMT.
