I have a trunk - - exactly like that one - - - that my mother and grandmother came from Europe with. Whatever fit - - is all they brought. They came in 1926 - - - and I'm sure it wasn't new at that time. I cleaned it all up - - glued new lining in it - and painted the outside. Didn't have a key - - so never closed the lock - - - - - -until Thanksgiving day. My Great Nephew was so proud of himself, telling his daddy that he locked the trunk. Looks like we'll be popping the lock off. And the old sewing machines, after they get cleaned up - - - and oiled - - will work better than the new computerized ones.. A good gift to a young teenager.
If you are a Christian, then you know that God will protect you and keep you safe. Just remember, it's only a trunk. No need to be superstitious over something like that.
That would definitely be a surprise to see pictures of an open-casket funeral! I don't know if those were dated but the fading makes me think probably from the 1960's. I've seen family photos that faded the same way; they get ghosty and kind of watercolory almost. I came here looking for video of old chests and steamer trunks!
I've got three old trunk (chests) from my great grandparents when they came to America. I'm looking to restore them. I'm looking for a start to finish series so that I can work on the chests and have them in the house instead of the basement. I just started looking but didn't find anything complete to watch. Do you have a complete series start to finish?
Being a collector of sewing machines the first is from the 50s and I am not sure but I do know that it is a brother sewing machine from when they started out. Enjoy them both.
The first sewing machine is definitely 40s. The second one is from the late 20s to early 30s. The trunk is most likely from the turn of the century to 1920s

Check every thing carefully , once I found a couple coin collections in a vinaigrette record album sleeve 👍🏻I’m so excited to see what’s in there !!

The thing to remember about sewing machines, oil and grease. Google the model on how to oil it.
Basically, if it moves, oil it
