I have been using Xperia 10 Mark V for two months and I can say this is a humble phone that shows us we don't need the fastest chips or the best camera for daily usage. It stays on and on without worry for the battery running out. It's a zen in some ways.
As an owner of 10 iv, the upgrades that interested me the most in the 10 V were the stereo speakers, extra ram and the new main camera sensor. But I hope Sony includes a new processor in the 10vi next year therefore consider a better upgrade 😂 Would love to get a 1 V when the 1 VI is released next year 🤞🏼
Oh come on.. if this wasnt a sony phone it would been a disaster. The phone doesnt even have a charger. It has a $150 cell phone camera and processor in a $500 dolars phone that doesnt even come with a charger.
@@hhh5377 hi, i'm about to buy this phone. i see it ranks 2nd on nano review in battery life. is it battery good though? (i'm not playing games on phones by the way)
@@ToyotaAristo I found this phone through battery life benchmarks in a comparison table (all mass produces smartphones sinse 2016). And it makes sense its best in the world at this aspect. The low performace as well as the efficient cpu and gpu make it's battery life insane
If you want a no bells and whistles phone, with excellent battery life, nice display, this phone is ideal. More for the casual user . I lnow the V version has a very bright display for its price point ( over 600 nits manual brightness using the slider IE a more premium phone like the pixel 7 has around 490 nits manual brightness)
I've owned a couple of the early Sony Xperia flagships in years past (Z1 Compact, XZ1). At that time, you could get a nice Sony phone for a reasonable price. Their biggest issue was OS updates. Both my Sonys received only 1 update. I've since settled in w midrange phones since they can pretty much do what I want them to do at a fraction of the price...which is where my issue lies w Sony's "Mark" series. Don't get me wrong...the '1" Models are as nice of a pro-featured handset that you can find,...and the "5" models have been consistently at the top of "compact format" flagships. But the pricing...sheesh...even on the "10" models is somewhat ridiculous IMO. My current OnePlus midrange has virtually identical hardware n specs (including the headphone jack),...and paid
Interesting. Sony went over my head for a while because in general, they are overpriced. 1080p video capture is a no-go though. Wonder if the 10 VI might be an option, kinda worried that they drop the telephoto because even 5 V seems not to get one.
I'm currently at 3 days of battery usage with 6h screen on time and 38% battery left on my Xperia 10 V. The battery life is really remarkable. But there are software bugs, crashes, the camera is mediocre and I miss tap to wake. The experience did sell me on Sony phones though and I will switch to the 1V as my daily driver :)
@@choppings54 Most annoying bug is that opening and using the camera crashes other apps like Spotify, YT Music, Audible. So I can't take photos while listening to stuff on my phone. Other issues are the torch light that doesn't work from time to time because the phone thinks the camera is still going, which requires a reboot. And the batter usage screen keeps crashing for whatever reason. You might also be disappointed with the camera compared to the S22, the bluetooth connectivity is pretty bad and the speakers are not very loud, but cause the back of the phone to vibrate. You might wanna check out the 1V instead or wait for the 5V which should be available in a month or two
@@choppings54 I returned my 10V and upgraded to the 1V which doesn't have the problem. Not sure when or if the audio issue will be fixed or if others have the same problem
can you make a video on how to get gcam to work on it because i dont have the time. and then do a camera comparison with a pixel phone while the xperia is using gcam
i just wish it had 90hz or 120hz thats what stops me from swapping from my 1 iii to one of these for better battery but getting a similar feeling phone :(
Hi. I wanna ask...in practical use or based on your experience or what you have read would you choose Sony Xperia 10 v or Pixel 6a for overall photo quality in dynamic range, colour rendition, white balance, natural colour, video stabilization? Or would rather recommend me something else?
@@GadgetRevNow thank you for answering my question. No sir, I am more heavy on socmed like tiktok, IG, yt, fb and camera. Btw, I live in the Philippines, it's quite hot here. This is what sony should do with 3 of their phones specially the 10 mark 6 give it a 12 mp ultra wide and 10 mp 3x telephoto next year onwards 1 give it 4 years os and 5 years security 2 all 3 models should have the flagship chipsets that will put sony on game or they will end up like htc and lg out of the big phone markets like Eastern Europe and America. Sony already have the best aspect ratio for movie's and probably put a 90hz for the mark 10 mark 6 those will fix all of sonys mobile divisions problems. Sony is lacking in sale's because even Japanese people are buying i phones Samsungs and oppos
would have been an amazing midranger if they just put like 1 quality sensor at the back. like the mainsensor of the 5ii for example. And with it at least the photopro software. We rather want quality above quantity. same goes for the samsung a54 series. who the heck wants 5mp macro lens XD these manufactures wtf.
Mid range market are harsh and yeah Xperia 10 series never really feel like a proper mid range phone, most people praise it's battery life but c'mon it always run 60hz where it's competitors on 120hz. I'm a Sony fanboy myself and I'd really buy the 10 series if the upcoming Mk Vi has Snapdragon 7 series or upcoming 6 gen 2, 120hz refresh rate, and at least give it the photo pro app (no need for the video and cinema pro for the 10 series). While at it, since Google and Samsung is upping their software updates, Sony should at least give 3 OS/ 4 year security on all their phones.

good battery but the camera experience is the worst I ever had, coming from XZ compact and Z2 before it

You can stick with your kitsch One plus
Bought it for 85 usd today bt there are two cracks on both of the front bezels. Good deal all together... what do u thnk
finally i sold this phone. overheat problem was very disturb me. and when you take a picture need time to capture it. Lag on capture a photo

Almost 4 years now with Xperia 10ii without screen protector or case 💪
Great midrange, uncomparable with Samsung and under...
No need to upgrade yet..
Please help, I come from Sony Xperia XZ premium. Which Xperia is the better choice for me?

Since its using SD processor, just download the GCAM available for Snapdragon. That should work.

I need to let go this device because of this 2 reasons
Very slow shutter speed for pictures 😢
Overheating while on video
Does Xperia overheats? I am interested in buying one but if there's an overheating issue, I might have to look for another phone.
Pretty good on average use. Are you planning to use for gaming?
