  • Todays video is from one of our physiotherapists, Laura. She will help describe how to do self-percussion therapy on those stubborn chest coughs to help get rid on that phlegm.
Remember to always check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program. All movements should feel like a mild level of exertion and discontinue if there is any pain.

Sunshine, how are you doing now? Did this method help?

Thank you for making this video! I just did this for about 15 minutes after soaking in the tub, hydrating frequently between taps. My poor roommates haha I feel much better though. it's crazy how you can feel your own airways clear.
I found that deep breathing and percussing the back of my neck with the same technique (just enough force to hear that sound) at the end can help loosen up that last bit of cough up.

Sorry about that but at the time we were just recording using our phones at home. Hopefully, you were able to turn it up to hear it.

I always thought this type of percussion is supposed to be on the back? Can anyone confirm this works being done on the front?

Yes, you can do this on the front as well, and does help quite a bit. Thanks for the question.

even with my volume all the way up, it is nearly impossible to hear you.
