I’ve just shared your video to assist people with the Covid-19 outbreak. My mum used to do this to me as a child to help my breathing, my partner was diagnosed with covid-19 and her breathing was bad, hardly breathing and with panic in her eyes. I remembered the treatment my mother gave me and performed it, I listed your video on Facebook so others can help people, hopefully it will save them. My girlfriend is thankful I knew what to do but others may not.
@@annabanana5203 No, she was safer at home, if I took her in during the early times of them trying to understand how to manage it then she would have gone on a ventilator and probably be dead by now.
I started trying this on myself since my chest is quite congested. It didn't take long at all for me to start coughing like you would believe. I really hope this keeps me from needing to go to Urgent care. I'm just about at my wits end at this point.
Just tried this on my 1.5 yr old who is congested within minutes she threw up the mucus!! I had been "burping" her but elevating her lower half seemed to do the trick! Thank you!!
Hello! The reason I watched this video is because I have 1.5 yr old and I would like him to threw up the mucus, I heard it's possible. He's struggling with it for days. How did you make him/her stay calm, for how long did you manage to do this technique? He only lets me do it for a short time, during playing, he can't lay down still for 15-30min. Did you perform it exactly like in this video? Or did you tap it softer/more gentle? If you could answer my questions I would be very grateful. I'm happy for your baby 💪 thank you
My baby is now 7 months old I will try this when she wakes up she was born with this heavy mocuz even when sleeping your hearing like snorting sound... nothing is coming thru the nose I will definitely try it today
Always face the subject away from you. As an rn, i never have a person facing me when performing chest physio’s. Chest physios can cause vomitting. Aspiration, headache/dizziness, lung bleeds, blood clots, muscle cramps, and many other serious issues can develop as a result of chest physio so never ever do it unless it is prescribed by a physician and you are shown how to assess a person b4 during and after a chest physio. Never perform this if the person had eaten or drank anything up yo 30 min from the chest physio. Do not do it if subject is chewing gum or has anything in their mouth. Remove dentures and all that can be in the oral cavity. As you do this, continuously face the person away from you and assess their breathing/airway, oxygen saturation, color, cough and auscultate to assess progress. Chest physios are very helpful but they are also very dangerous especially if the subject is diabetic, hypertensive, has a bleeding disorder, suffers from copd, risk of blood clots, hemophelia, heart disease, frail bones/osteoporosis, etc... please do not do this unless you are shown by a healthcare professional first
it will not be possible to have the patient facing away when doing this because you cannot perform this properly. You can wear a mask if you want or cover your face
I'm litterly at the gym and we got some new massage bed and for some reason when it hit that position it litterly made me start coughing like it was trying to clear my lungs
I know this is 4 yrs old, but is there a way to do this to yourself? I’m suffering with horrible chest congestion and I don’t have anyone to do it for me.
Would a exercise blow up ball work good for this while head is leaning down towards the ground? I bet it would be better for the neck during upper body leaning downward.
Also the hospital used this method on me when I was a little girl and had pneumonia. Hey also had a vest that vibrates that helped too but this is a safe method to use on most ages but of course feel free to talk to your doctor about this when it comes up next time ❤️ I hope your family is healthy and happy :)
Swing downward with as much force as possible, use steel weight if necessary, every 30 seconds sneak in a kick to the chest with steel toe boots while wearing 7 pound ankle weights...this will guarantee anyone to never cough again...😅🤣😂😂 Now that the joke is over, this procedure she is doing actually does work well, just make sure if they have breathing problems such as asthma, that it does not flare up, sometimes it can with shocks and vibrations to the lungs.

@Jordan Banks A panic attack that lasted over a week, glad I'm not one of your patients Dr Jordan
The cupping is not for comfort. It is to create air pockets that break up the secretions.
You are dOing it great
Just tried it on my husband who has been struggling to get the phlegm out for 3 days and it works like a bomb. Thank you!

Watching this video already cured my congestion. The cupping sounds were my ASMR for the day.

Is there any way to do this type of treatment if you live alone?
You can use your imaginations to figure it out.
@@elisamatsumoto4969 wow impressively unhelpful comment. 🏆
I did it with my hairbrush.
Softly pat with my hairbrush on my back

This sounds like a street performance for dancing claps
Is this safe to do on toddlers???
If it’s not too late, yes this is very safe for toddlers. It’s in a way just like burping a child. I use this method on my 2 year old a lot
